A suspected thief was beaten to death and set ablaze by a mob in Katsina-ala street of High-level community, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State today.

It was gathered that the suspect, who was part of a four-man gang accosted some ladies with guns and snatched their mobile phones and undisclosed sum of money.

When the victims discovered that thieves were using toy guns, they raised alarm and the suspected robbers fled. The alarm attracted the attention of the mob in the area, who pursued the suspects. They caught four of them, beat one to death before setting his body ablaze.
