Going to church this days is more or less a Sunday Sunday ritual, where most people think you can live shitty lives during the week then going to church alone absorbs you from those sins. It has become a norm for people to ask "did you go to church today" and when your answer is no, some of them look at you like you were the one that killed Christ.
Now, let's talk about what happens in most Churches, the congregation worships the pastor rather than God, u will hear languages like "the God of my Father did this, and that" like he is not your own God too, last time I heard a woman testifying that after her pastor(Daddy) prayed, she found he keys that she lost, you hear many of such things all the time. I believe the shortest way possible to become a celebrity of sort is to become a pastor.
Now, to most people that don't miss sunday services, how good to ur neighbour are you? On Monday its still you that would gossip most at work, its still you that would lie most at work, its still you that would see and treat people working under you like animals come Monday, its still you that would always be quarrelling with your neighbour, its still you that would be fighting with your wife/husband on a bi weekly basis.
Now, when next you have the urge to ask if someone went to church, rather ask "have you eaten today?, are you okay?, are you depressed? Do you have any problem I can help you solve? And other questions that relate. In the end that was what Christ preached in the bible, love for your neighbours not love for you pastor and church members only
