Thanks for also pointing out that I'm not indispensable. That's one thing I'm constantly aware of, and i try my best to work with that reality. I'm still surprised they didn't release me like they did others.

You're most welcome ma'am.
Career / Re: I Have Given Up On Going To School After 5 Yrs Of Trying by Jabia(m): 12:38pm On Nov 08, 2015
If you've got ready access to the Internet you can look up websites like coursera.com edx.org. They offer free online courses relevant to specific skills.

As a technician, I'd also suggest you consider a diploma as a means of jump starting your academic career. We still have some pretty good but not-so-well-known schools in Nigeria (Look up PTI and MTI online)

You might also want to consider leaving Lagos for a bit. I was born in Lagos and I now realize that staying there sort of limited my outlook. With all the hustle and bustle, you'd never know there could be good opportunities to be had elsewhere.

Wishing success and fulfillment, whatever your choices are eventually.

Cheers

Hi there!

You seem to have done okay for yourself at work. I've had some experience from the biggest names in Nigerian Finance/O & G and one thing that runs across all is a strong rewards system for performance.

You ma'am are a performer, and you just happen to have enjoyed one of the perks. Don't allow yourself to begin to feel too guilty about it.

Regarding your colleagues, continue to show strong work ethic. Be courteous and polite, but do not begin to lower your bars for acceptable performance. That you have made mistakes is not an excuse for your colleagues doing same.

Lastly, don't allow your escaping major sanctions get to your head. You are an employee like any other and can be replaced if required. Make up for your said mistake and Forge ahead.

Should the atmosphere at work prove unbearable and other offers come along, seize them and move on with your life.

Wishing you more successes in your career.

Like your friend probably is, I'm currently between jobs.

If he has a solid plan of something to do/keep busy in the other place, I'd say he should give it a try. Our current economic situation is only favorable to those who are willing to take risks.

He should always be ready to do something that might not be related to his academic field of study though.

Wishing him success, whatever his decision.

AXA Mansard is a real company, they're into insurance. I currently have an account with them. Whether the interview invite is real on the other hand is another matter. Did you apply for a position? Be careful when you go, and be safety conscious.

Stay safe.

Hi there,

A call from an ExxonMobil extension, if you haven't recently applied to and qualified for an ExxonMobil position, would most likely come from a family member or friend.

If you were being called for a position, you would be contacted first via email.

Stay calm, and stay blessed

The war stopped cos your progenitors ass were thoroughly whipped while your coward rebel leader stole one of Biafra women wrapper and took to his heels. What a coward!!!

The idiocy and greediness of your worthless and senseless progenitors were what led to the war and the result of the war.

Are your Biafra states ok today? If your answer is no, then your Biafra Nation won't make any difference cos the same corrupt and shameless Igbo leaders would still lead you and your failed likes in the new Biafra.

The only region suffering in Nigeria today is the East. They are the only one running from poverty in their land to other regions for a better life while others stay in their regions cos there is nothing to run to in the East; think abt that fool.

Is this really necessary here? Isn't it words like this that have largely contributed to the tragedies this thread has reminded us about?

How long are we going to continue this way?

Sile12,

Thank you so much for this thread. I started reading through about 5:30am and had to go through all the pages.

I have also shed my fair share of tears.

You have reminded me of my relationship with God, and for that I thank you.

God bless you.

In my opinion, if the PDP has a dream of ever bouncing back anytime soon, let's say in 8 to 12 years time, most of the people mentioned should actually step down from participating in elective positions. PDP needs a new breed of politicians to be sold to Nigerians as reformers, and strangely though, PDP needs to lobby some people back, like Rotimi Amaechi. Currently, what it boasts of are a bunch of politicians who depend on rigging machinery to win elections, and if electoral reforms are further implemented, PDP will be in more problems if they don't bring the right people into elective politics

A very mature post. I am neither partisan nor impressed. I am grateful though.
Thanks!

Fellow nairalanders pls help me. I'm a student of microbiology in Delta State university. I'm from a humble home as my parents labor hard to pay my tuition. I have given my all to ensure that I study and have no reason to fail any course. This lecturer named A.A Anigboro BSc, MSC (Benin), an Urhobo man married with kids. He lives at Okhogoro in Abraka. Lecturer 11 (biochemical toxicology/molecular biology). This man has been failing me just to sleep with me. He has failed so many girls just cos of sex. No one is doing anything about it. He calls you with a private number and asks you to come to his house to sex him. We also have conscience and dignity for our bodies. I have younger ones and my parents aren't getting younger. They can't afford paying school fees for me every year. I'm lamenting for myself and the many girls who have to suffer years just because of the illicit pleasure of a adulterous married man. Whoever can get the attention of any authority should please help us female students in microbiology department in Delsu. It is so unfair. I can't be sleeping with lecturers when am studying and paying my fees for them to lecture me. Pls help somebody!!!

Could you create a separate topic for this with some proof of your allegations? I'm sure the mods would gladly help push your topic to front page where you can get the needed assistance.
