Oga, I studied at Unilag so I know what am saying... By the way my father was a lecturer there.... So I know what am saying ..by the way the ASUU and talking about here is the Unilag Chapter not ASUU in General
ASUU isn't on strike.nasu is.and it's a nationwide strike, not unilag alone
EducationRe: Striking Non-academic Staff Warn Unilag To Postpone Convocation by JackieMay(f): 12:19am On Feb 14, 2018

this has nothing to Do with the Fg.. Its the school itself that's cheating the Nasu staffs.... They have collected their own allowance and have refused to fully pay the none Academics their share......... Just because this people are mostly cleaners and the rest doesn't mean they should be treated as trash.... The Unilag ASUU are selfish and bunch of thieves... Before the strike started, I over heard some lecturers talking about the amount each was paid from the money Fg gave to the school, I heard one man said he was credited with N500k and that them never even pay am finish... Can you imagine someone collecting N500k and still complaining of balance when those that are doing the hardest and the dirty work never get shishi......... This isn't about Fg na school problem be this.. And the academic staffs are trying to ride on the none academics by taking the money for themselves...
Oga make your findings well. its not only unilag that's affected.how will they give one lecturer 500k. D'you know how many lecturers unilag has? then how many universities under ASUU? how much di fb give them?to

The point i'm addressing is not about whether those who set the cut off, are foolish or wise, it's your assertion regarding him not being smart enough to get into medical school, which is wrong, your initial post made it seem like, ALL those studying medicine in Nigeria were able to scale through the cut off, because they're "Smart"

In my first year in school, I met some medical students in class, with scores that will not get you into Life Sciences on a normal day, yet were admitted, however there were people who did better and ended up being sidelined, but superficial perception of that scenario will make you think it was their intelligence that got them the course.

In a nutshell, There are medical students that scale through the cut off and are admitted, others do too, and are sidelined, there are even cases were people get the same scores, one is picked and the other gets nothing.

So considering the admission system, in Nigeria, it is disdainful & callous to attribute the cause of a persons inability to secure admission on low intelligence without considering other factors.

I still maintain that the Ops actions were wrong nonetheless.
true
who spends 150k for runzing when you have no hope for fees? it's like buying a charger when you have no phone

Not supporting the Op's actions, I think I should point something out..
there are people that score above the cut off, and still end up being denied of admission, it is totally unreasonable to conclude that he wasn't admitted into medical school because he wasn't smart enough.
he clearly stated that he didn't meet cutoff. those that set the cutoff are not foolish. medicine is not a course that you can stumble through. if you don't have what it takes, you end up matriculating as a medical student and convocating as a teacher
EducationRe: HELP!! I Need 200k To Pay For School Fee. ;newly Admitted Uniben Student by JackieMay(f): 3:14pm On Feb 11, 2018
Morale16:
Actually, not up to 40 pple made that cutoff... And more often than not, the people that didn't make the cut off are actually more intelligent than the pple that made it... So ahv noticed anyway.

Or have you not seen a physics teacher that score 40 in jambs' physics,...... 40 out of hundred.
Do you think he failed because he doesn't know physics, or because he z not intelligent?

When jamb is concerned, a lot of constraints are considered.
Thanks for your contribution.
not up to 40 people, but people still made it. right?

Thanks for dropping by bro,
Oh you had 76... And you weren't given.
I wish i could explain to the public what'll hv to do to even get an aggregate of 76 in uniben.
It means, normally your jamb should be nothing less than 300 in the beginning, b4 we now start talking of adding your post UME result.
Your 76 couldn't get you medicine not because 76 was in a way a low score, but because the quota for admitting medical students on merit is very low.

Bro, i want u to answer this question honestly.
... If you were in my shoes and you had the right connections... And you knew b4 hand that your score wouldn't get you medicine in uniben.... Would you have acted differently??
if you're not smart enough to get medicine in the first place, opt for something else. all these excuses you're giving is trash. the cutoff was high, yet people still made the cutoff legitimately. stop trying to make excuses for your inadequacies. if you cant make the cutoff, what makes you think you'll be able to cope in medical school?
