KA24DETT: If we can prove that there is no improvement from OM dual exhaust to his quad exhaust setup now, we can say he is a ricer. Dyno run I mean.
For now, let's see where he takes this , I am hoping he will be thinking of headers, intake (short ram, CAI) CAMs, pulleys . All these depends on how deep his pockets are, and for Hondas, performance mods are not that expensive .
So homeboy got something going on, I am not feeling the color of his rims though, that orange is not doing it for me .
9-10 yrs ago when I was into this set up , my boys and I can squeeze out 250-300hp from a B16 with no forced induction running all kinds of crazy setups.
Now, I feel like am getting old and take the long way home.
Power never feels old...I guess it's just going with da times...The long way home with no traffic or the winding roads on a cold Sunday morning....With 300 horses at my right foot, A pair of Raybans or Oakley's (if anyone still Diggs looking like James May)...that sir should be the long way home (except if you've got my wife as yours then you need to get home ASAP! cry

I had the misconception that those lights provided a "wider" beam...well thanks Sienna for the insight. .

mikkyphp: I just placed an order for 2pcs of White H11 7.5W Car LED Fog Lamp Light Bulbs for DRL & 2pcs of HB4 7.5W Car LED Fog Lamp Automobile Light Bulbs for the Full light.
I reckon they should serve my purpose of improving visibility at Night!
Those would surely improve the Camry ' s already poor lightning.

They look nice sir.Do post pics of them when installed

A Camry meet someday wouldn't be bad....

mikkyphp: This aint a camry thread anymore. OP please modify the title as appropriate
In as much as it is appropriately stated...plz sir mikkyphp let's give the slip on this one.

His car has quad exhaust!!!..... grin

And I think he would most probably be considering getting a Camry pretty soon. wink

yungboss: lol, so are you saying we would not have family cars in production anymore?
Most definitely, they would still be producing them.-can't say on how they'll look though

The family sedans of the future would most definitely be Technologically laden...With emissions laws and crash safety requirements, you can bet they'll be nothing compared to anything we may envision.(no more 0-60 times, Instead we'll b looking at miles per Recharge (hybrids) and pretty much an android OS)...With a society that frowns upon anything with a combustible engine within!

But the futuristic Nigeria is what you see in the present! angry

yungboss: the insatiable thirst for power, I wonder what cars would be like by 2020...
This sir is the future........ cool.ain't it a bright one!....say when the fossil fuel bunks out.

Jeremy Clarkson foresaw it all.

grimadult: Hmmmmmmmmmmm lipsrsealed embarassed lipsrsealed embarassed I guess I have "riced" my Acura TL(1999). Am running it on a stainless steel rear mufflers with twin exit on each pot(making it quad). Did a mid muffler delete,it sounds quite loud at 2200-2500rpm bt quiet when idling. Had to buy d stainless steel after my stock mufflers rusted out. The stainless steel is from Remus. Running also on 17/225/45 with stock 2005 Acura TL rims, painted it black and orange. Led interior lights. Planing on getting Brembo brakes soon(4 pistons),led Tail lights too,bt as my brother Tdie said,BA kudi.
The whole point of the Thread is to see how "different from stock" your car is....

Sad to say "Ricing" is still some sort of modification...

Sir do post your cars picture and let evryone judge...who knows you may get CityNG to like it. grin

Siena: You forgot a N/A V8 can be boosted too. Where would that leave the smaller I4 turbo?
Dual turbochargers n 800hp with a blown crankcase n melted piston heads!...The quest for ultimate power on an I4T on twin garret turbochargers and running boost at 20psi....

Same power gain on a Ford Hemi V8 supercharged running say bout 11psi with little or no problems cos the block can handle it.

Pretty much d days of a straight four are just about ended cry

Now here's why I'm in Love with TRD...Just for Only this!

Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op): 8:44pm On Jul 26, 2014
Hmmm a big displacement V8 against a tuned I4 with Turbo.

Say how would a Cadillac CTS-V stack up against a similarly tuned EVO 10(Power wise No weight reduction done only engine mods)

My guess is the EVO smokes the CTS-V on a launch but loses at the top end. grin
Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op): 12:46pm On Jul 25, 2014
Forced Induction is usually the route to go for big power gains...

But accessing those parts and someone to put all in place without breaking the engine after a couple runs is a woe here in Nigeria.-if not laughable and near impossible

A reasonable 280-300hp should be my goal.

Your stage 1 regulars - Intake/Headers/Exhaust/ECU tuning primarily are accessible to me..Come September.

Now Cams/Cylinder/Pistons/Bore increase n Polish (d 2.4L is enough though), Fuel Pump upgrades are well out of reach to me.-I am a DIY person but u can do all of this with a whole lot of Cash- which Is vert limited.

In Nigeria, You won't get any tuning shops or ECU tuners/ReFlashers just road side mechanics n a whole lot of "Professionally recommended blow and break your engine Mechanics"..

TRD's supercharger on the TRD camry edition made me nuts...Just da sound of dat V8 transplant made me go "Chai!!!"

billy187: I don't really like the bland shape of the 07-08ish camry, especially with its weird 'nose.' However I can't help but gape at the modified camrys here, especially OP's and the lowered one as well. They look.......AWESOME! Good job people! wink
Thank you sir...

yungboss: so when I'm through with my m54 3.0 transplant, I should take on one of those your low ¼mile camrys.... wink
Let's pray the oil money reaches us some day...And we do have the intellect to build a proper drag strip in Nigeria!.

Then the underdog - Japanese small weiner would take on the 7-0 beating Germans to a quarter mile!....I can already hum the theme
song to that!..

CityNG: A "Big For Nothing?" Camry that is actually "Big For Something" - eating BMWs.

Twin charger.
shocked.....hmmm..Figures "This is why Power is addictive".

And I thought one was enough! grin
Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op): 4:23pm On Jul 24, 2014
CityNG: What a nice and simple car, very tastefully done on the exterior. No zowie graphics, no illogical led lights or other tacky stuff.

Owner should just add a TRD supercharger and haunt BMWs on the open highways.
Wish u knew how many times I'd lost to those -MW badges!!!......Even though the Camry does low 14's on da quarter mile n a respectable 6.4 to 60mph....I still get the whooping from an M badge angry

This ultimately is my goal for my Camry...Increase boost all the way to infinite and Blow out any Bimmers!!! I catch on Kaduna-Abuja expressway! grin

mikkyphp: Am more interested in functional mods, and a few aesthetics. My BUcket list:

rear spoiler
front grille
DVD/GPS touch screen radio
fog lamps
18" rims

Naija roads wont let me lower my suspensions
Thats simple enough sir, Your 18's would probably make or break your car...here's a pic that'l help your choice sir.

But really a 2006 camry (big daddy- I am still fascinated as to how these names come about)doesn't dwell so good on the looks department...

If ricing one up makes it any better than it is that I'd like to see...So please do as u feel fit to it - that's the whole point of it all....Make it unique/ different..What is cool/nice to you doesn't necessarily mean itl b for another.

Criteria should be
1. Clean (show car quality)
2. Type of styling-Vippu (VIP), Street, or track
3. Parts used/ingenuity and Flow
4. Performance.

Personally Lambo doors should remain on a Lamboghini n not on a toyota Solara.. (Ricing!!!)

NEEBOY: Anyone has an idea of where I can get these for my camry
Sir, u could probably order it in on ebay or have someone abroad - states or in da UK to order it in for you.

Or u could go the DIY route if you're pretty handy with your hands...

YouTube should help with many videos on how to have a black house headlight and an led strip connected.

CityNG: OP, additionally but I think you're looking at this hydraulic and coil over as one or the other.

You can have both now together on the same unit.

I'm afraid to post a link due to the accursed spambot that bans me whenever I post alink (or is it - hmmmm - cough lomo cough mike cough grin)

"KW HLS (Hydraulic Lift System)

The HLS provides additional road clearance for lowered vehicles. When expanded, a range of up to 45 mm of lift is produced, thereby helping sport cars avoid road clearance difficulties such as speed bumps, road construction, etc. KW HLS is available as vehicle specific solution or individual conversion kit depending on the car model.

HLS is available in two different versions: HLS 2 which is fitted to the front axle and HLS 4 which can be attached to the front and rear axle and allows lifting the entire vehicle. The hydraulic cylinder unit is located on the coilover body between spring perch and spring. The advantage of a hydraulic system is that there is no compression (motion) of the extended cylinder unit (resulting in no unwanted additional suspension movement) while driving.
Allows cars with low ground clearance to clear obstacles more easily
Available as complete kit including KW coilover kit or as conversion kit
Can be activated from inside the vehicle via a LED position control switch or
by an optional remote, thereby eliminating any need for interior wiring.
Can be activated while driving (up to 50 mph)
Fast lifting – maximum lift occurs within 4-5 seconds when using HLS 2
High-quality cylinder unit with durable aluminum construction
Sealed unit for corrosion and dirt resistance
Depending on the car type and model, KW HLS is either available as a vehicle-specific solution or as a conversion kit for KW or OEM coilover kits. KW HLS kit may utilize existing springs, or provide springs (depending on application) all associated hardware, hydraulic cylinder and control unit."
Hmmm....time to get me one of those!!!....Be sure I'll b having one on an e92 lime rock edition look alike...but then I'd like to know how it Starks up in terms of pricing?

Thanks CityNG for such info sir...much appreciated
Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op): 9:49am On Jul 23, 2014
CityNG: Instead of coil overs, hydraulics is the way to go for Nigerian roads.

Then you'll be able to adjust the height as needed while driving.
Yes sir,the practicality of raising and lowering ones ride height at the push of a button is comfortable. Some of our roads are just plain undrivable

My opinion would still be the Coilovers over Hydraulics--Cost wise; adjustable damping, toe, and Height although done with the driver out angry

And of course the handling is way better(from a performance standpoint though)
Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op): 9:37am On Jul 23, 2014
tdie: Your ride sure looks cool... A black top- Glass, Vinyl or painted, and big rims can do wonders to the looks of a car!! Reminds me of my project...! I'm itching to do another, but ba kudi... :-)
Yes sir!!!.....that's the problem I face also..I have a bucket list of mods that need to go on the car..money oh!-it's always Goin to be a hobby and besides the end product is to turn Heads Abi---Thief head go also dey turn!!! grin

Please let's see that project oh...Any DIY sir is welcomed!

Chuckdee: I am not sure how practical it would be to drop a camry this low for regular use on Nigerian roads though..
Definitely not sir!...only very few places and the car would be confined to those areas...

The condition of Naija roads in our major cities where cars like this are suppose to strive well at is just sad.
Car TalkRe: Your Modified Camry ' S - Any Model by Jacksolo4me(op):
mikkyphp: What about swapping the stock radio head unit for a DVD/SatNAV type. I intend to progress with that. see my before and after photos (Smoked the headlights slightly):
Clean looking Camry sir, liked the slightly smoked headlights....

Interior wise I'd b wanting to go stock wise....I've got a dashboard mounted Garmin Navi system..

I saw a guy put in a google Tab on his with Internet Connectivity via cell phone.

Here's the actual Camry I got my inspiration from...The Stance on this camry is crazy!!...it's wearing 245/30/20F n 265/30/20R Giovanni deep offset rims..but of course it's also using An adjustable Coilover on all 4's

Car TalkRe: BMW Owners' Forum by Jacksolo4me(m): 3:17pm On Jul 21, 2014
yungboss: that's going to cost you alot of money...it's possible, even the 1987 Porsche can be had with approx. 7000miles,original. Saw one on eBay.
Yeah that's going to be one very long hard years of saving....I guess a regular e92 coupe with look alike should do with a supercharger n an akrapovic exhaust with a vorsteiner bodykit...

Don't we all wish we had Oil money!!!!

Don't want it being just a head Turner but at least da term "hey nice ride"...

Most of it I did myself.and trust me...u won't believe it on how cheap it is doing it yourself after digging in n researching for da look one desires.
