I believe he will eventually get the visa if he can provide the pictures to prove he is been in a relationship with the wife.
The good thing here is that it doesnt sound to me like the marriage is that of convenience.

From what i read somewhere on their site, a DV applicant dont need no affidavit of support.
U can only need an affidavit of support when you are being sponsored by someone (usually a close relative in the US who is either a citizen or a permanent resident) who is referred to as the petitioner. The petitioner has to be the one to provide/send you (the applicant) an affidavit of support you will tender during interview.

A lady (DV selectee) was asked during her interview and she responded saying affidavit wasnt one of the civil documents
on their website that she has to bring in for interview - She was given the visa.

I wish i could get the link where i read about this. I will def post it when i come across it again.

A fellow said the green card is equal to having American passport. Pls house respond.

American passport i believe is for citizens while the green card is for permanent residents.
A green card holder (permanent resident) have as much rights/previlages as a citizen except for some sensitive jobs or issues
that has to be of top security concern.

I just called KCC. They were very straight forward and fast with their dealings.
At first i was thinking it was gonna be like our normal MTN, Glo,.. customer service
where they will keep you hanging on the phone endlessly - It was 'click' and i was
already talking to someone.

Well, I have got a cool news - My application was confirmed received and has been cleared for an appointment.
But they havent scheduled an interview date yet- the wait continues.

I guess thats reassuring to those of us that got notified late and have submitted both the DSP-122 and DS-230 forms.

This waiting game must end with a happy one oooo.... lolz.

Just carry enough cash. For you to pee sef..na moni, make i go after German Embassy for IBTC ATM, one tout say him wan show me way---na moni. I just dismissed him asap. Passports na N1,500 as they will tell u the ones u hav aren't up to required spec...all na jobbing. You too no wan hear say na passport fuccck up, u comply.

@roadboy, i don't think there is any need for ​U̶̲̥̅̊ to authenticate Чuя npc birth cert. Just get the cert from npc office in lagos without authenticating it and ​U̶̲̥̅̊ A̶̲̥̅̊я̲̣̥ε̲̣̣̣̥ good to go. Unless ​U̶̲̥̅̊ want to spend extra money. Anyways is Чuя choice. Goodluck sir

@Jack_Syno, I guess we are having similar case. I got the mail too and couldn't even recollected that I ever entered for the DV2012.
Well of course I did but I don't put such in my mind neither do I check or follow up after entry. If not for the link attached in the mail I wouldn't have been able to obtain my confirmation because it went away with my former official laptop. I returned those forms just last week Thursday. my case No: 2012AF00007*** maybe that's what you guys call low case no.

Now is the waiting game. We wait and hope we get lucky.

It may not be a scam. I am aware that some DV2012 winners got a mail from KCC which contains the confirmation ID used during registration, directing them to the entrant status check page. If this is his case, it may not be a scam.

Leave that guy alone who could not even read well to see that i said
the email simply encouraged for me to check my status and not that the email stated i won.

It was after i checked my status with the necessary requirements that i realised i was selected for further processing.

My dear winning a visa is not about the time but about the preparation. most people go for interview on the first month and they get rejected, others go late with the fear of high case number and they succeed. I swear i have read somewhere in that forum of a person like ​U̶̲̥̅̊. If ​U̶̲̥̅̊ keep waiting for someone tell ​U̶̲̥̅̊ something ​U̶̲̥̅̊ mite loose confidence in this whole thing. My friend that email message you said you received is a scam mail i can bet you that ! The organizers of the dvlottery does not send email notifications to selected dv lottery winners. So please take note ! You have to check with your confirmation number you got when you registered on their website to get any information that you have been selected at all

I was asked to check my status and i did and was selected.


The e-mail reads:

Dear Diversity Visa Program Entrant:
Our records indicate that you entered the 2012 Diversity lottery, but have not yet checked the status of your entry. We encourage you to check your status on the Entry Status Check website (http://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/) as soon as possible to determine whether your entry has been selected for further processing.
You must have your confirmation number, LastName, and Year of Birth in order to check your status online.....

Well, i checked sometime in May, 2011 and wasnt selected and that was it!
I never bothered to check back, not even after i heard there was a programming error with the May selections.

Was very surprised when I got an email (13th July, 2012) to check my status - which i did and was surprised i was selected.
I didnt know if i should be happy or otherwise as the time left is more-or-less very close to the end of the fiscal year -30th Sept, 2012.

I need ppl with a similar experience to come tell if i stand a good chance to getting called up for an interview!

Yes I got notified via e-mail asking for me to check up
my status with my confirmation number and lastname and year of birth on their status check Page.
That I did and was told i was randomly selected for further processing.

Its amazing how usually it takes about 3-4months to process each submitted file (from what i have gathered so far).

Please I need someone with experience or a good knowledge of the DV 2012 procedures to help determine if I stand a chance of being called up for interview knowing I just got notified 2 weeks ago - precisely 13th July, 2012, and the end of the fiscal year is 30th September, 2012.

I have sent my DSP-122 and DS-230 forms along with the 2 passport photo to KCC and was received 24th July, 2012.
