HTC isn't producing phones as fast as is used to, however, there is another HTC U phone not too far off. Another Tweet from HTC has reported that the organization will reveal its most recent passage to its HTC U lineup on August 30. The Tween and the picture don't offer a great deal of detail, however, the presumption is that the HTCU12 Life is the thing that will be flaunted on August 30. The HTC U12 Life will be a successor to a year ago mid-range HTC U11 Life, highlighting a display of 6-inch 2160×1080 pixel , 4GB of RAM, 64GB of capacity, a 3,060 mAh battery, raise double camera with 16 and 5 MP sensors, the most recent form of Edge Sense and an outline which will repeat that of the HTC U12+. What's obscure about the HTC U12 is the construction materials and cost. A year ago HTC U11 Life highlighted a plastic back cover and casing. While this enabled HTC to drastically lessen generation costs and the last value purpose of the telephone, the construct felt shabby. Ideally, HTC will figure out how to utilize a similar material of the HTC U12+ and convey a top-notch expand on the HTC U12 Life https://www.techvenge.com/2018/08/htc-set-to-unveil-new-smartphones.html

Do you remember the first time you were offered a cookie from a web site? If you were new to the Internet it was a surprise. A web site wanted to put a cookie on your computer. Maybe your first thoughts were, "What's a cookie? Should I accept it or reject it?" Some sites never asked to give you a cookie... Other sites required your acceptance of cookies to get information, to read articles or look through their products or get their free downloads. According to Netscape, "Cookies are a general mechanism which server side connections (such as CGI scripts) can use to both store and retrieve information on the client side of the connection." Most cookies are set once and then go away when you turn off your browser. The other type of cookie, the persistent cookie, is set and remains on your hard drive until either your space for cookies is full or the time stamp on it expires. A site has access to any information you provide (including information like your IP address, browser type, and the page that referred you to their site, as well as forms you fill out) without using any cookies at all. So, it's more important to know the privacy policies of a site than to worry about whether they use cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information gathered from you and/or your computer by a web server and stored in your computer, ready for future access by the server or web site. Cookies are embedded in the HTML information flowing back and forth between your computer and the web sites and servers. What's The Purpose of Cookies? They allow user side customization of web information. For example, cookies are used to personalize web sites. They allow you to participate in surveys, contests... And, making sure you participate only once... And to store shopping lists of items you have selected while browsing through a list of products or a virtual shopping mall. Some sites require YOU accept cookies to access their information, tips or articles from their web site. Cookies make use of specific information you prefer. That specific information is transmitted by your web server into your computer cookie file so the information is available for later access by itself and other servers. In most cases, not only does the storage of personal information into your cookie file go unnoticed, so does access to it. Web servers automatically gain access to relevant cookies whenever you establish a connection to them. Cookies are based on a two-stage process. First, the cookie is stored in your computer sometimes without your consent or knowledge. But... On Netscape browsers you can go to preferences, set your browser to alert you before accepting a cookie. On Internet Explorer follow the Tools/Internet Options/Security menu to set cookie preferences. It's your choice. For example... Some web pages are customizable so you can select categories of interest to you from the web page. The web server then creates a cookie that is a string of text containing your preferences, and puts this small cookie text file in your computer. If your web browser is set to receive cookies... the cookie text is stored on your computer in a file called a cookie file. This happens without your consent unless your have set your browser to notify you before accepting a cookie and before it is stored on your computer. Would you like to see your cookie file? On a Macintosh you can do a find for 'magiccookie' on your hard drive... On a PC do a find for 'cookies.txt' on your hard drive. Each cookie file is a small text file. After you find the file you can open it by double clicking it. Looking at the files doesn't tell you much unless you get deeper into writing and setting cookies. Remember... a site only knows what information you've entered and your browser type and ISP. Cookies are neither good nor bad, they can provide convenience for you and do serve useful functions on the web. You CAN delete the entire cookies file on your computer if cookies concern you. Just find the file and delete it. Then set your browser preferences to NOT accept cookies. "I've always accepted cookies and have noticed no bad effects. So my personal preference is to continue accepting them,"... Now It's Your Choice! CC: Lalasticala |
Like everyone, appearing smart during meetings is my top priority. Sometimes this can be difficult if you start daydreaming about your next vacation, your next nap, or bacon. When this happens, it’s good to have some fallback tricks to fall back on. Here are my ten favorite tricks for quickly appearing smart during meetings. 1. Draw a Venn diagram Getting up and drawing a Venn diagram is a great way to appear smart. It doesn’t matter if your Venn diagram is wildly inaccurate, in fact, the more inaccurate the better. Even before you’ve put that marker down, your colleagues will begin fighting about what exactly the labels should be and how big the circles should be, etc. At this point, you can slink back to your chair and go back to playing Candy Crush on your phone. 2. Translate percentage metrics into fractions If someone says “About 25% of all users click on this button,” quickly chime in with, “So about 1 in 4,” and make a note of it. Everyone will nod their head in agreement, secretly impressed and envious of your quick math skills. 3. Encourage everyone to “take a step back” There comes a point in most meetings where everyone is chiming in, except you. Opinions and data and milestones are being thrown around and you don’t know your CTA from your OTA. This is a great point to go, “Guys, guys, guys, can we take a step back here?” Everyone will turn their heads toward you, amazed at your ability to silence the fray. Follow it up with a quick, “What problem are we really trying to solve?” and, boom! You’ve bought yourself another hour of looking smart. 4. Nod continuously while pretending to take notes Always bring a notepad with you. Your rejection of technology will be revered. Take notes by simply writing down one word from every sentence that you hear. Nod continuously while doing so. If someone asks you if you’re taking notes, quickly say that these are your own personal notes and that someone else should really be keeping a record of the meeting. Bravo compadre. You’ve saved your ass, and you’ve gotten out of doing any extra work. Or any work at all, if you’re truly succeeding. 5. Repeat the last thing the engineer said, but very very slowly Make a mental note of the engineer in the room. Remember his name. He’ll be quiet throughout most of the meeting, but when his moment comes everything out of his mouth will spring from a place of unknowable brilliance. After he utters these divine words, chime in with, “Let me just repeat that,” and repeat exactly what he just said, but very, very slowly. Now, his brilliance has been transferred to you. People will look back on the meeting and mistakenly attribute the intelligent statement to you. 6. Ask “Will this scale?” no matter what it is It’s important to find out if things will scale no matter what it is you’re discussing. No one even really knows what that means, but it’s a good catch-all question that generally applies and drives engineers nuts. 7. Pace around the room Whenever someone gets up from the table and walks around, don’t you immediately respect them? I know I do. It takes a lot of guts but once you do it, you immediately appear smart. Fold your arms. Walk around. Go to the corner and lean against the wall. Take a deep, contemplative sigh. Trust me, everyone will be shitting their pants wondering what you’re thinking. If only they knew (bacon). 8. Ask the presenter to go back a slide “Sorry, could you go back a slide?” They’re the seven words no presenter wants to hear. It doesn’t matter where in the presentation you shout this out, it’ll immediately make you look like you’re paying closer attention than everyone else is, because clearly they missed the thing that you’re about to brilliantly point out. Don’t have anything to point out? Just say something like, “I’m not sure what these numbers mean,” and sit back. You’ve bought yourself almost an entire meeting of appearing smart. 9. Step out for a phone call You’re probably afraid to step out of the room because you fear people will think you aren’t making the meeting a priority. Interestingly, however, if you step out of a meeting for an “important” phone call, they’ll all realize just how busy and important you are. They’ll say, “Wow, this meeting is important, so if he has something even more important than this, well, we better not bother him.” 10. Make fun of yourself If someone asks what you think, and you honestly didn’t hear a single word anyone said for the last hour, just say, “I honestly didn’t hear a single word anyone said for the last hour.” People love self-deprecating humor. Say things like, “Maybe we can just use the lawyers from my divorce,” or “God I wish I was dead.” They’ll laugh, value your honesty, consider contacting H.R., but most importantly, think you’re the smartest looking person in the room. I don't know about the other but I wouldn't recommend whogohost given the history my friends(remember the 's') had with them. But you can try your luck since my review was based on past experiences and who knows maybe they have upgraded their platform. But for reliable host go for bluehost if you have the money or hostgator they are quite affordable. |

2. 4K UHD VIDEO & VR:Each World Cup seems to herald the arrival of a new broadcast technology and this year It’s 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD). There were 4K trials at Brazil 2014, but this is the first time a 4K feed will be made available to broadcasters now that a significant number of viewers have compatible television sets.It was touch and go as to whether the feed would be made available to U.K. viewers, but the BBC has confirmed it has plans in place. There are a few caveats however. The first is that matches will only be available online via the BBC iPlayer – not via television – and the second is that the streams will be a first-come first-served basis. This means only tens of thousands of people will be able to watch at any one time. The BBC will also have a VR feed, available via the BBC Sport VR application, allowing viewers to feel as though they are in a private box at the stadium. 3.ELECTRONIC PERFORMANCE AND TRACKING SYSTEMS The second major FIFA innovation is Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems (EPTS), a tablet-based system that will give coaches for all 32 teams access to player statistics and video footage in real time. Each team will be supplied with three tablets – one for an analyst in the stand, one for an analyst on the bench and another for the medical team. Match footage will be subject to a 30-second delay, alongside stats such as player positioning data, passing, pressing, speed and tackles. EPTS works with camera based systems and wearable technology, the latter of which was approved by FIFA back in 2015. For the World Cup, data will be collected via two optical tracking cameras located on the main stand, while teams will also have access to selected tactical cameras. 4.5G IN RUSSIA This World Cup has arrived a little too early for 5G, but both TMS and Megafon, the official communications partner for the World Cup, will be holding trials of the technology in Russia during the event. 5G networks are expected to be commercially available in 2019, delivering faster speeds, greater capacity and ultra-low latency. This will mean better connectivity for fans in a soccer stadium in the future as well as new experiences. For example, an Intel-powered network at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics helped to deliver 360-degree VR video to broadcasters. Earlier this week, Ericsson and MTS revealed the World Cup would play host to the largest deployment of Massive MIMO (an advanced mobile technology) to date, as well as the installation of 5G-capable radio equipment at more than 40 sites in seven of the 11 host cities. This network will cover stadiums, fan zones and transportation hubs as well as famous landmarks – including Moscow’s Red Square. 5.ADIDAS TELSTAR BALL Adidas has manufactured the official match ball for every World Cup since 1970, using the event as a showcase for its latest technical innovations – much to the chagrin of goalkeepers who seem to complain about the ball every time. This year’s ‘Telstar 18’ is a reimagining of Adidas’s first World Cup ball and features a “breand new carcass and panel design” which it is claimed improves performance durability both in the stadium and on the street. But the most interesting aspect is the inclusion of a Near Field Communication (NFC) chip. NFC is the same technology that powers things like Apple Pay and Android Pay and allows the ball to communicate with a smartphone. Functionality is limited to product information and challenges, but that’s about it. However it’s the first time an NFC chip has ever been included in a match ball, so it could pave the way for future versions to be even smarter. Adidas previously released a soccer ball called the miCoach Smart Ball which used sensors to track metrics like speed and trajectory, but it was never durable enough to be used in a game. Soccer is a multi-billion dollar industry followed by billions of people around the world, so it’s not surprising at all that it isn’t immune to the tech sector’s favourite buzzword – ‘Digital Transformation’.Indeed, technology has played a critical role for broadcasters, organizers and spectators at previous iterations of the tournament and Russia 2018 is no exception. But what will be different is the impact of tech on the pitch itself. The last World Cup in Brazil saw the debut of goal line technology – the first-time referees had ever received any artificial help in making decisions. This year will see the advent of video assisted referees (VAR), a development which is almost certain to make headlines this summer. 1.VAR Few recent changes to football have been as divisive as VAR. The calls for video referees in soccer have been long-running, with advocates point out the success of similar systems in rugby, tennis, the NFL and even cricket. The idea is simple – referees can refer ‘game changing situations’ such as goals, penalties, red cards and mistaken identity to a video referee who can help. VAR has been tested in several competitions, including the FA Cup, but it has received a mixed reaction with many either calling for VAR to be overhauled or even scrapped altogether. But that hasn’t deterred FIFA from using VAR at all 64 matches. A dedicated video assistant referee team comprising a lead VAR and three assistant VARs will be located at the Video Operation Room (VOR) in the International Broadcast Centre Moscow. VARs can speak to the referee using a fibre-based radio system, while 33 broadcast camera feeds and two dedicated offside cameras are directly transmitted to the VOR using the same network. Eight of these feeds are super slow-motion and four are ultra-slow motion. At knockout games, there will be two additional ultra-slow-motion cameras. The idea is that each VAR looks at a different camera feed, informing referees of any mistakes or missed incidents, or when the referee asks for assistance.

1.CHECK FOR MALWARE :DOWNLOAD ADDITIONAL MALWARE-DETECTING PROGRAMS SUCH AS MALWAREBYTES ANTI-MALWARE . Make sure that spyware, malware (malicious software), or a virus hasn't infected your computer. The symptoms are slow processing, a new home page on your web browser that you didn't actively choose, messages that you are infected from a program other than your anti-virus program, or unsolicited offers for extra software when you're not using a web browser, according to Michael Schwehr, founder of JumpStart Computing in Alexandria, Virginia. Scan your computer with your the anti-virus program you already have (Windows 10 comes with it's own anti-virus program incorporated into Windows Defender), or download additional malware-detecting programs such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or McAfee Security Scan Plus. Watch out for these signs you're about to be hacked. 2.CLOSE UNUSED PROGRAMS:DON'T RUN TOO MANY PROGRAMS AT ONCE .If you run too many programs at once—for example having a web browser, an Excel spreadsheet and iTunes open at the same time—you'll overload the computer and slow its processing speed significantly, according to Michael Pang, founder of Santa Monica Tech Support in California. Close the unused programs and then reboot the computer. 3.CLOSE UNUSED TABS:IT'S ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER AFTER CLOSING UNUSED TABS .Yes, tabs are handy ways to keep track of different websites, email conversations, and spreadsheets, but keeping too many open simultaneously slows your computer, as each one sucks up processing power. If you're worried you won't be able to find certain sites again, just bookmark them, Pang suggests. It's also a good idea to reboot the computer after closing unused tabs. Here are keyboard shortcuts every Mac user should know. 4.REBOOT REGULARLY:WHEN YOU DON'T RESTART A COMPUTER REGULARLY , IT CAN START BEHAVING STRANGELY. It's tempting to put your computer to sleep at night instead of shutting down. Who wants to wait for it to reboot every morning? Problem is, when you don't restart a computer regularly, it can start behaving strangely—like suddenly you can cut but not paste text, or your tool bar goes missing, said Schwehr. "If you must leave your computer for more than a few hours, and especially overnight, consider closing your programs and turning it off," he says. "That preserves the life of the computer and allows the operating system and programs to load with a fresh copy of the Windows Registry, which is especially important after uninstalling or installing programs or receiving updates of any kind." If you have the bandwidth, check out these funny computer-themed jokes. 5.GET A MEMORY UPGRADE:MORE MEMORY IS ALSO HELPFUL FOR PEOPLE THAT KEEP MULTIPLE WINDOWS OPEN SIMULTANEOUSLY . Computers that run Windows Vista, 8, 8.1, or 10, need a 4GB minimum to operate smoothly. It's even better to have 8GB or up to 16GB if you edit video and photos in high-end programs. More memory is also helpful for people that keep multiple windows open simultaneously. "You can determine how much memory is installed by right-clicking on 'My Computer' or 'This PC' from File Explorer, and choosing 'Properties' from the menu that pops up," Schwehr says. Mac users need only click the Apple icon in the top left of the screen and then click on "About This Mac." 6.DELETE OVERSIZED FILES:YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM NEEDS AT LEAST 10 PERCENT FREE SPACE TO OPERATE NORMALLY .Photos, videos and other extra large files hog space on your computer and make it run slowly. Sometimes your drive reads "almost full" due to just one to two jumbo files. Apple offers step-by-step instructions to identify large files. Dummies.com offers a similar tutorial for PCs. Move the large files to an external drive or delete them if you don't need them. Pang prefers to keep his computer drive 50 percent empty. But don't be surprised if this isn't the cause of your problem. "This is not a problem that plagues too many people," Schwehr says. Most computer users actually use less than a third of their total hard drive space, but if you consume more than 90 percent of your hard drive, then you will see a drop in performance." As a rule, he adds, your operating system needs at least 10 percent free space to operate normally. The operating system that writes temporary files actually uses that "unused" 10 percent, so if all the space gets used, the computer will crash. This is especially important if you collect a lot of music, photos, and movies. These are the photos to never post on social media. 7 GET RID OF BROWSER ADD-ONS: . UNINSTALLANY PROGRAMS WITH THE WORD "TOOLBAR " IN THEM . "Since much of what people do involves working through webpages, anything that slows down your web browsing program will influence the speed of your overall performance," say Schwehr. "Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari are all popular web browsing programs that can have additional toolbars installed, and if you have other programs added to your web browser and they have issues, they can even prevent your web browser from opening." Don't feel silly if you find toolbars you didn't know you had, he adds. That frequently happens when programs are downloaded and installed in "customized" rather than "default" mode. He suggests uninstalling any programs with the word "toolbar" in them to free up your web browser. "Often they are totally unnecessary, and sometimes agreeing to the user agreement to install them gives the producers of the software permission to download other additional toolbars and programs that run in the background, using valuable space," he adds. 8.DOWNGRADE YOUR PROTECTION SOFTWARE:ONLY UPGRADE TO THE COMPLETE SUITE OF PROGRAMS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM . When it comes to protecting your computer, sometimes less is more. "When you shop for an anti-virus program, do you salivate over the total internet Security package instead?" asks Schwehr. "Just remember that an additional firewall and password manager and safe web surfing add-on for your browser are all additional programs using memory and resources simultaneously, and that's before you've even started another program!" If you need an anti-virus program, get just the lower end software and only upgrade to the complete suite of programs if you have a problem. (Don't miss these cell phone accessories that will make your life easier.) 9.DEFRAG YOUR COMPUTER:DO THIS ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN OLD COMPUTER AND A HARD DRIVE . If you have an older computer with a hard drive (not a solid state drive) you may need to defrag it. Pang likens defragging to "a tuneup to get rid of junk." A good guideline is that computers running Windows 8 and higher defrag themselves. If you'd not sure if you need to defrag or how to do it, check the Windows tutorial. 10.UPGRADE THE COMPUTER:YOU MIGHT NEED A NEW COMPUTER . There are various remedies to speed up older computers, such as reverting to factory settings—but then again, you'll lose all your information, unless you back it up or hire someone to do it. But you can only teach an old dog so many new tricks. If a computer is five or more years old, it may be so out of date that you will need to continually remedy problems. Pang suggests that you replace computers once every five years. Next, check out the technology trends you should expect to see in 2018. SOURCE:BUSINESS INSIDER |

1. APPLE LAPTOPS ARE THE BEST FOR PROGRAMMING /MACS ARE BETTER THAN THE PCS: Macs are just swag, and programmers like to carry them just for the trend of it. We’ve attached the higher price of Mac to mean higher quality. However, there’s no data backing the fact that an Apple MacBook is better for programming, and don’t try to pull the no-virus card → . Definitely, there are Macs that are better than some PCs but the case is also vice versa. 2.UPDATES MAKES YOUR PHONE FASTER Nothing could be further from the truth. A patch for a bug fix or to clear up a security issue will help your device protected nonetheless. But OS and frequent app updates creates heavier apps that require powerful hardware compatibility. That’s the reason your phone gets slower. Just update the necessary apps, and help your phone for optimized performance. You’ll be amazed by the results. 3.FREE WI-FI Your information and usage is the price you pay, hence it’s not free. When unencrypted, the whole network could be compromised leading to snooping your private information and monitor all your activities especially to steal your online banking details like internet banking, Amazon wallet and pay-pal free Wi-Fi is the best bet. It can not only be monitored by the hotspot provider but also for everyone within the Wi-Fi range. So an eavesdropper can position himself between you and the hotspot. Once the eavesdropper has your information, he can — at his leisure — access your systems as if he were you. 4.PRIVATE /INCOGNITO BROWSING KEEPS YOU ANONYMOUS -There’s a misconception that “incognito” and “private” are synonymous with anonymous. If you’re using Incognito Mode in Google Chrome or Private browsing in Safari, it simply means the browser won’t keep track of your history, import your bookmarks, or automatically log into any of your accounts. Basically, it's good for keeping other people who use your computer from seeing what you've been doing. But it won’t keep your identity hidden from the sites you visit or your ISP — so keep that in mind if you’re visiting sites you shouldn’t be. 5 MORE MEGAPIXELS ALWAYS MEANS A BETTER CAMERA What’s the difference between 12 megapixel cameras and 8 megapixel cameras? Not much, as it turns out. The quality of an image is determined in large part by how much light the sensor is able to take in. Bigger sensors may come with larger pixels, and the larger the pixel the more light it can absorb. So, it’s really the size of the pixels that matter as much or more than the sheer number of pixels. (A megapixel is simply shorthand for a million pixels.) |

Instagram’s shoppable tags are about to pop up in Stories. The company first started testing the feature back in 2016 with a limited set of 20 partners. Since then it’s been a hit, expanding broadly to regular brand posts in the feed. Starting today, hitting a little shopping bag sticker in a Story will lead you to more details on the cute and/or dope thing that caught your eye and how to score it. It’s a simple addition, but given the success of Stories it’s a potent one for brands that drive sales on the platform. “With 300M using Instagram Stories everyday, people are increasingly finding new products from brands they love,” Instagram said in a press release. “In a recent survey, Instagrammers said they often watch stories to stay in the-know with brands they’re interested in, get an insider view of products they like, and find out about new products that are relevant to them.” As a longtime daily Instagram user, I used to be skeptical that people really engaged with brands like this and not just their friends or dogs they know. Now, after seeing my fiancée’s considerable #engagement around makeup brands running wildly popular accounts, Stories and all, I get it. Well, I don’t get it, but I get that some people get it and that the often vast and expertly crafted brand Stories are a logical evolution for a platform trying to get more users buying more stuff in the product categories that call to them. https://techcrunch.com/2018/06/12/instagram-adds-shopping-tags-directly-into-stories/ Lalasticala. |
