You are just too lazy to do a simple research
It is a company banning her employees not government. The company maybe a contractor to Huawei, so the ban is justified. However, Chinese are proud of their nation not Nigerians that like talking down themselves. In fact, some hotels in the same Shenzhen charged extra for American citizens at the beginning of the trade war.

Sales in China was able to offset the lost abroad as you know that most Chinese companies forbid their employee from buying any other phone except Huawei, with over one billion in population and discrimination against other products, Huawei sales will continue to grow in China while Samsung,Apple will continue to lose
You are passing wrong information. This forum has visitors from around the world. China alone has several brands that doesn't leave the shore of the country; those that are famous in Africa and other places are very few...The likes of Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo etc. Government can not restrict citizens to what they should buy. Many are still using iphone, samsung, etc in China. They sold just a little above 100 million which is less than 10% of Chinese population.

Huawei has announced its financial results for its April-June quarter, and things are looking a lot better for the company than you would expect.

Despite the American-Chinese trade war and the Trump administration’s ban on American companies doing business with Huawei, the Chinese tech giant’s revenue soared last quarter. Huawei made 221.6 billion yuan ($32.2 billion)—a 23% increase over the previous quarter.

Revenue wasn’t the only thing flying for Huawei—the company sold 118 million smartphones in the first half of 2019—a 24% year-over-year increase. And despite the U.S. urging other countries not to use Huawei products in their 5G networks, Huawei announced that to date it has secured 50 commercial 5G contracts and shipped more than 150,000 5G base stations to markets around the world.

As for what the future holds for Huawei given the political and trade headwinds it faces, the company’s chairman, Liang Hua, said in a press release:

Revenue grew fast up through May. Given the foundation we laid in the first half of the year, we continue to see growth even after we were added to the entity list. That’s not to say we don’t have difficulties ahead. We do, and they may affect the pace of our growth in the short term. But we will stay the course. We are fully confident in what the future holds, and we will continue investing as planned—including a total of CNY120 billion in R&grin this year. We’ll get through these challenges, and we’re confident that Huawei will enter a new stage of growth after the worst of this is behind us.

The more people becoming successful the better the society.....If you as a man become successful, everyone around you would feel the impact. That's how society is.....If black Americans have the same opportunity with the white folks from the beginning America would have been closer to a perfect society. Lack of opportunity equals to imbalance and crime in any society.

Nigerian youths need more opportunities and jobs esp in the south. The north needs more investment in early education while govt needs to restructure the justice system and power supply. The solution to Nigeria problems would be solved by 80% minimum.

Nigeria is one of the easiest places to make a lot of money, especially if you are ready to bury your conscience

Millionaires will spring up obviously (Nigeria neon the from capitalist state it is)
.

but how sustainable is the Nigerian society?

it isn't

the fundamentals are VERY wrong

Nigeria beung a good place to amass wealth does not make Nigeria a good country

you will not understand because all you looking at, like MOST black folks is money

and just so you know

I'm not based in Nigeria
so the crony capitalist cannot dominate me cheesy

I'm in a country from which I'll transition to my main destination
It is you missing the point. Could you pls tell me a nation in this world that never had it rough the past? The main problem with the country is people like you who believe everything should be destroyed, and no hope. People like you should keep quiet if you do not have any positive thing to say about our society. Is America all of you running to heaven? as at today the number of people killed by gun in US is more than what we have in Nigeria
TravelRe: Man Cries, Tries To Resist Deportation (Photos) by Jacseyi(m):
Nigeria is not the poorest country on earth, or most useless society. An average Nigerian lives a better life than many countries around the world. Nigeria is safer than many countries in the world as well. I can mention many countries outside Africa that are not close to Nigeria. However, people in these countries are well respected worldwide than us. Nigerians are continuously destroying the image of the country especially the middle class.

We have lost our shame, integrity and dignity of being human. Some of us are gainfully employed, living well but would still say he's relocating to Canada, US etc without thinking that someone developed those countries. When you try to call their attention to this, they would be quick to tell you that everyone is courupt as if those people are not part their family. Corrupt lecturers, immigration officers at passport office, corrupt pastors and imam, corrupt company drivers that steal petrol, corrupt bankers, etc....are will not having them all in our families?

The truth is we might have the opportunity of relocating our families to the developed world without developing our own country, however, people like Trump wouldn't fail to remind you where you come from. A friend told me he relocated his family for his children's sake, I told him I don't feel at home here and I would still raise my own family back at home when the time comes because, some statements have hurt me deeply and beyond what I can call racism. Are these what my children would be facing all their lives?

In my opinion, it's better we do everything and develop our country if not for us but for our coming generations. Rwanda, Mauritius, Botswana and many African countries a currently on the right track. Can we imagine Trump telling someone born in the US just like himself to move back to her country. Unfortunately, several tens of thousand liked the post.

Read what I wrote over again.......every country around the world had their rough times; Japan, China, Germany, in fact UK was almost level at a time. Look at Rwanda today. We need to build our country and everyone is involved. A friend told me what he experienced when he went to collect his transcript in one of the Nig. univ., after making all necessary payments, the person in charge asked him for additional illegal 10k before she could do the right thing. People are not being punished for their wrong doing that's the biggest issue in Nigeria today. However, every citizen must be aware of their responsibilities for a responsible society that we want

Researchers Use Night-time Satellite Images To Map Access to Electricity In Sub-Saharan Africa

A team of researchers from the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the Future Energy Program at the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) in Italy analysed the precision with which satellite images showing night-time lights could be converted into spatially detailed maps of electricity access in sub-Saharan Africa.

The research validates a growing recognition of the potential gains of using satellite data to assess the availability of electricity across a large geographical area.

The researchers focused on sub-Saharan Africa, where a dearth of accurate data and data collation systems are impeding a more holistic approach to solving the energy deficit in the region. Sub-Saharan Africa remains the region with the largest electricity access deficit in the world, with nine out of ten people living without electricity.

Existing data on electricity access in sub-Saharan Africa provide a shallow insight into the energy situation in the region, thereby making it difficult to track progress and make plans for expanding electricity infrastructure. In essence, it’s more difficult to prioritize financial support due to limited knowledge of the situation.

In their study published in the journal Scientific Data, the researchers made a case for leveraging spatially detailed maps of electricity access to address the energy deficit in the region, with a view to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7).

“They further investigated whether remotely-sensed data on light intensity could provide a proxy for electricity access quality beyond a binary measure of access, and if it could help to identify regions that lack access to electricity, as well as hotspots where progress in terms of providing access is stalled or regressing”, according to a synopsis of the research which was released to the media.

The team’s satellite-derived dataset was able to provide an accurate prediction of not only where people have access to electricity and where they don’t, but their measure of light intensity, which could also provide an accurate proxy for the amount of residential electricity consumption in a particular area.

Commenting on the research, Giacomo Falchetta, a researcher at FEEM and lead author of the study, said: “We were able to use our derived indicators to track, within each country, what progress with electricity access has been over the last five years, and where critical hotspots of people without access or high latent electricity remain. The results revealed large inequalities in progress towards universal access to electricity, both across and within nations in the region.”

“Our dataset provides a useful complement that is easily updatable and can help assess progress with providing electricity access, as well as inequalities in electricity use at a fine sub-national scale. This could be an invaluable input to efforts aimed at meeting SDG 7,” explains Shonali Pachauri, a co-author of the study and a researcher with the IIASA Energy Program.

The dataset and research paper are available for academia, policymakers, development organisations and developers to make good use of.

Read the original synopsis of the research on IIASA website to learn more about the research and how to access the dataset.

Allan Okoth said 'This is an interesting and useful utilization of space satellite capacity. The same approach is being used in discerning economic vitality of various regional technology conurbations. Notice the brightness in the Southern Africa area that denotes company and start-up clustering. There is also significant presence along the western Africa coast (attributable to Nigeria and Ghana), East Africa (attributable to Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda) and in North Africa (attributable to very dynamic Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt)'

Foreign AffairsNearly 40kg Of Cocaine Found In Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's G20 Plane by Jacseyi(op): 4:27am On Jun 28, 2019
Military official arrested on route to G20 summit in Japan after drug found in luggage

He is the controversial Brazilian president who has promised zero tolerance on the country’s pervasive drugs trade – but it seems Jair Bolsonaro will need to start with his own entourage.

A member of his official military detail has been arrested en route to this week’s G20 summit in Japan – after being found with some 39kg of cocaine.

The Brazilian Air Force officer was detained during a stopover in Seville, Spain.

“The serviceman was found to have cocaine in his hand baggage that weighed a total of 39kg,” a spokesperson for the Guardia Civil said. “He was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and is currently in custody at our Seville headquarters waiting to appear before a judge.”

He was later named as 38-year-old Sergeant Silva Rodrigues by the Brazilian TV network RecordTV.

The plane – an advance flight ahead of Mr Bolsonaro’s own journey – was carrying a military delegation tasked with protecting the president during the summit in Tokyo.

Mr Bolsonaro confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday, saying he had been informed of the incident by the country’s defence minister.

Jair Bolsonaro pulls Brazil from UN pact designed to protect migrants He said: “I immediately ordered the defence minister to cooperate with Spanish police to establish the facts and cooperate with every stage of the investigation, and to launch an investigation by the military police.

“There are around 300,000 men and women in the armed forces who are trained to uphold the highest principles of ethics and morality.

“If the airman is found to have committed a crime, he will be tried and convicted according to the law.” Speaking to reporters in Brasilia on Wednesday, vice-president Hamilton Mourao appeared to assume the officer’s guilt. “It's obvious that, given the amount of drugs he had on him, that he didn't just buy them around the corner and take them with him,” he said. “He was working as a qualified drug mule, let's put it that way."

Right-winger Mr Bolsonaro came to power in January on a promise to crack down on widespread crime in the South American country – including targeting the drugs trade. Just this month, he passed new legislation which will toughen penalties for traffickers and require users to undergo rehabilitation or face prison.

Please vote or suggest a name https://www.nasrdacbss.com/cbss-media-events/

Within the framework of its 100th-anniversary commemorations, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) is organising the IAU100 NameExoWorlds global competition that allows any country in the world to give a popular name to a selected exo-planet and its host star. Over 70 countries have already signed up to organise national campaigns that will provide the public with an opportunity to vote. The aim of this initiative is to create awareness of the Earth’s place in the Universe and to reflect on how the Earth would potentially be perceived by a civilisation on another planet.

In recent years, astronomers have discovered thousands of planets and planetary systems orbiting around nearby stars. Some are small and rocky like the Earth, whilst others are gas giants like Jupiter. It is now believed that most stars in the Universe could have planets orbiting them and that some of them may have physical characteristics that resemble those of the Earth. The sheer number of stars in the Universe, each potentially with orbiting planets, along with the ubiquity of pre-biotic compounds, suggests that extraterrestrial life may be likely.

The IAU is the authority responsible for assigning official designations and names to celestial bodies and now, while celebrating its first 100 years of fostering international collaboration (IAU100), it wishes to contribute to the fraternity of all people with a significant token of global identity. Following the first NameExoWorlds competition, which named 19 exo-planets in 2015, the IAU will now, within the framework of the IAU100 NameExoWorlds project, offer every country the chance to name one planetary system, comprising an exo-planet and its host star. Each nation’s designated star is visible from that country, and sufficiently bright to be observed through small telescopes. This is only the second time in history that a competition will lead to the naming of stars and exo-planets.

After carefully selecting a large sample of well-studied, confirmed exo-planets and their host stars, the IAU100 NameExoWorlds Steering Committee assigned a star-planet system to each country, taking account of the association with the country and the visibility of the host star from the country. In each participating country, a national committee has been specially created by the National Outreach Coordinators (IAU NOCs) to carry out the competition at the national level. The national committee, following the methodology and guidelines set up by the IAU100 Name ExoWorlds Steering Committee, is the body responsible for providing the conditions for public participation, disseminating the project in the country and establishing a voting system.

The National Competitions will be carried out from June to November 2019 and, after final validation by the IAU100 NameExoWorlds Steering Committee, the global results will be announced in December 2019. The winning names will be used freely in parallel with the existing scientific nomenclature, with due credit to the persons that proposed them.
“This exciting event invites everyone worldwide to think about their collective place in the Universe, while stimulating creativity and global citizenship. The NameExoworlds initiative reminds us that we are all together, under one sky”, said Debra Elmegreen, IAU President-elect.

Nigeria has been assigned to name Star HD 43197 and Exo-planet HD 43197 B. An online voting poll has been designed to allow individuals and groups to take part in this task by voting for the star or exo-planet of their choice; you can also suggest a name of your choice for the star and exo-planet.

About Star HD 43197

HD 43197 is a sub-giant star that can be located in the constellation of Canis major. The description is based on the spectral class. HD 43197 is not part of the constellation outline, but is within the borders of the constellation. Based on the spectral type (G8/K0IV/V) of the star, the star’s colour is white to yellow. The star cannot be seen by the naked eye; you need a telescope to see it. HD 43197 has at least 1 extra-solar planet believed to be in orbit around the star. Using the most recent figures given by the 2007 Hipparcos data, the star is 183.65 light years away from us. For HD 43197, the location is 06h 13m 35.56s and -29° 53` 50.3 and is determined by the Right Ascension (R.A.) and Declination (Dec.) which are equivalent to the Longitude and Latitude of the Earth.

About Exo-planet HD 43197 B

HD 43197 B is a gas giant exoplanet that orbits a G-type star. Its mass is 0.6 Jupiters, it takes 327.8 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.92 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2010. Its eccentricity is 0.83 and the detection method is through radial velocity.

To take part in the online voting, click https://www.nasrdacbss.com/cbss-media-events/ You can only vote once and voting closes on the 30th of November 2019.

PhonesGoogle Lobbies US Govt To Continue Business With Huawei by Jacseyi(op): 4:03pm On Jun 08, 2019
Google is seeking to continue doing business with Huawei and has warned the Trump administration that it risks compromising national security if it moves ahead with a sweeping ban on the Chinese company, the Financial Times (FT) reported on Thursday.

Google's senior executives are lobbying U.S. officials to exempt it from an order that bans American companies from supplying software and components to the Chinese telecom giant, the newspaper said, citing three people briefed on the conversations.

The U.S. administration in May added Huawei to a trade blacklist after the China-U.S. trade talks suffered a major setback. The move, which put Huawei and 68 affiliates in more than two dozen countries on the Commerce Department's so-called Entity List, has prompted protests from several of the biggest U.S. tech companies.

Google has since then suspended business with Huawei after the ban, cutting it off from updates to the Android operating system.

While the sanctions are expected to hurt Huawei in the short term, industry experts say it could force the company – and other Chinese firms – to become self-reliant by developing more home-grown technologies, hurting the dominance of American companies such as Google in the longer term.

Google, in particular, is concerned it would not be allowed to update its Android operating system on Huawei smartphones, which it argues would prompt the Chinese company to develop its own version of the software, FT reported, citing people briefed on Google's lobbying efforts.

The search giant argued that a Huawei-modified version of Android would be more susceptible to being hacked, the newspaper said.

Senior Google executives have approached the U.S. commerce department asking either for another extension or to be exempted from the ban altogether, FT said.
"Like other US companies, we're engaging with the Department of Commerce to ensure we're in full compliance with its requirements and temporary license. Our focus is on protecting the security of Google users on the millions of existing Huawei handsets in the US and around the world,” Google told FT.

Not like the ones coming from the generation of Islamic jihadists that their ancestors were conquered and that want to conquer the world and make us dump western education for Quranic almajiri school. Why will I not thank America also for the freedom for anyone to be who they wanna be.

God bless America
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.
See, look at the beginning of all these terrorism, you will see a high correlation with US rising to power. Let's take Libya for example, can you compare the number of terrorists in that country now to Libya in 2008? Same in Iraq, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Iran loading, etc. Rwanda is still under US sanction for rejecting importation of used clothes from the US, Zimbabwe, Cuba and many other countries across the world. I have studied the US tactics on my own and I have seen the truth about America. How has this rudeness given you freedom? tell me.

On Africa matter. China is the new colonial master in Africa now putting African countries under the yoke of unplayable debts. China has started taking over national properties like sea port of African countries that failed to pay its loan. China having its way, would put the whole world in “yoke “. That’s why I prefer America to China.

China may not have bombed any country. The bitter truth is, the bombing that the US did to some countries is the reason why the whole world is in freedom for the most part. Freedom of religion, freedom to be who you wanna be, freedom from Islamic conquest of the world, freedom from communism where everyone would have been properties in the hands of government.
That bombing like the ones against Islamic terrorists and jihadists is the reason why you are a free man with western education. You have to see things in both white and black.
To you, China is forcing African leaders to take loans? How many infrastructure has China taken over in Nigeria, or West Africa. I remember Sierra Leone cancelled an airport project and nothing happened. What many of you do not know is that, China is helping Africa to bridge a wide infrastructure gap at the same time booming its own economy, reason while China calls it win-win deal. For your information, corrupt leaders do not have access to those money, as the money goes directly to China companies executing those projects unlike WorldBank and IMF loans that go directly to the purses of our politicians and from there back to the western economies.

As for the USA bombing everywhere as they wish, kindly note that US is doing that for resources control and power and nothing like helping in any kind of freedom. How is bombing of Libya, Iraq, or the ongoing invasion of Venezuela or Iran etc give you freedom? Stop listening to too much of western propaganda. A country that has KKK and presently having a President supporting such do not have any moral.

Huawei is a state agent. Any country that put its cyber space in the hands of Huawei has put its destiny and national security at the mercy of China. US is so wise not to let that happen.
My question to you is how many countries has China invaded or bombed? There are many smaller countries like Laos that are sharing boarders with China and many of these countries have no issues with China except Taiwan a Chinese Island that got separated. Chinese general believe in live and let's live, and 50/50 benefits in collaborations.

The truth is that, China's Huawei is reducing US spying capacity on others. Have you seen or heard China meddling in the affairs Africa countries like US and the west do?

if u think Chinese is innovative with normal technology, why do they still heavilu rely on microsoft, intel, AMD,Linux etc?

where is china compared to google, microsoft, IBM and Amazon in quantum computing, augmented reality, Deep learning, machine, cloud computingetc..rather they are waiting for IBM ,Google and microsoft to make quantum computing a mainstream before doing reverse engineering in it

FYI,by the time china starts doing reverse engineering on developing/developed American tech,American companies will be 5 years ahead.

china is already exploring other planets that Americans and Russians are tired of,while NASA is already making progress in reaching the SUN
This is it. The fact that Apple, and other tech giants are also involved in this act is my point, that many companies do it. However, we all know that China came from far behind and they are here today. This is the mistake we are making, under rating today China. Few months ago, China landed a rover at the dark side of the moon, also launched another GEO satellite for its own GPS system and become independent of USA's Navigation system. They also have their own aircraft carrier, more warship on South China sea and many more. Today China has gone far beyond many European countries that have early good research institutions as well as beating the USA in many areas

In fact, many of the state-owned businesses in the Northeastern part of the country can no longer compete with the private ones in the Southeast. Besides, is anything wrong if the Federal Government of Nigeria is successfully running a tech company like Huawei? It's unfortunate that we've been brainwashed by western media that always see anything that's not from the west as bad.

martineverest:
I will start seeing china as a force to reckon with when they start leading in research and development
China is already a leader in tech innovation from High Speed rail (450km/h), to Artificial Intelligence, 5G tech, Space science etc. China, just like Japan, America started by engaging in reverse engineering (copying) but they've learnt, mastered and improved virtually all these tech and they are now innovating to more advanced level. About research, pls check Chinese Academy of Sciences CAS, last year they had the world's biggest number of scientific publications. Our problem is that we read too much of western news. Either you believe it or not, western media hardly report anything good about others. Many of friends do ask about BH, Chibok girls as if it's all that's happening in Nigeria. Nigeria today is leading in tech innovation in Africa and it's getting attention and funding from outside but many of us do not know this because CNN do not and will never report it.

jaxxy:
China can’t go anywhere without the us and the us probably needs China in many ways. They know it.
You see too much of CNN, BBC and Foxx

falopey:

PhonesChina Issues 5G Licenses In Timely Boost For Huawei by Jacseyi(op): 9:21am On Jun 06, 2019
SHANGHAI/HONG KONG (Reuters) - China granted 5G licenses to the country's three major telecom operators and China Broadcasting Network Corp on Thursday, giving the go-ahead for full commercial deployment of the next-generation cellular network technology.

The approvals will trigger investment in the telecommunications sector which will benefit top vendors such as Huawei Technologies, just as the Chinese network equipment provider struggles to overcome a U.S. blacklisting that has hurt its global business.

State-owned carriers China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telcom, as well as state-owned broadcaster China Broadcasting Network Corporation Ltd, are the four licensees named by the government.

The three carriers had been granted trial 5G licenses at the end of 2018 and Thursday's announcement gives the go ahead to begin commercial deployment ahead of the original timeline that was targeting that for 2020.

The accelerated 5G rollout could help Huawei as Washington pushes its allies around the world to drop the firm from their 5G networks due to fears it could be used as a tool of Chinese state espionage, a claim that Huawei has repeatedly denied.

Huawei said in response to the license grant that it was prepared to support China's 5G build-out. It said it had signed 46 5G commercial contracts in 30 countries to date, shipping more than 100,000 5G base stations.

China is racing against other countries to deploy 5G on a large scale, paving the way for advances in technologies like artificial intelligence and autonomous driving.

Some analysts however believe China's 5G rollout will face difficulties due to the U.S. ban on Huawei buying parts and components from American firms without Washington's approval.

"We remain concerned that if the U.S. export ban on Huawei remains in place for some time, and is even extended to other Chinese tech companies, it will be very difficult for China to build 5G in scale," Jefferies said in a note.

"The action by China to accelerate 5G licensing does not remove or alleviate this risk."

Telecom operators in Britain, the United States and South Korea have already started offering 5G services in limited areas.

China welcomed foreign enterprises to participate in China's 5G market, an official from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which issued the licenses, said in a statement. Foreign firms likely to be interested in the rollout include Nokia and Ericsson.

China Mobile, the largest Chinese telecom operator, said it planned to offer 5G services in more than 40 Chinese cities before the end of September.

Shares in Chinese 5G-related firms such as ZTE slumped after the news, as investors pocketed gains.

This is why American government wants to kill Huawei, how can ordinary company from China has the key to such important aspect of world hegemony, Americans can't take it and they have the kill the cat b4 it grows further to become lion.
Pls don't ever refer to Huawei as an ordinary company. They have about 180,000 workers.....which include professors in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering with a very big campus. In fact, you would need a train to move round their campus. Also, HiSilicon occupying the third place is 100% Huawei, a subsidiary.

Huawei is far ahead on the race and that is main reason why US wants to bring it down by all means
HiSilicon, the No.3 on the list is 100% owned by Huawei

We should be expecting it here in Nigeria after buhari’s regime
This is what many of you guys don't know. Firstly, 5G entering into Nigeria has little or nothing to do with Buhari's govt except if NCC do not want it here. In as much Huawei sells both telecom equipment and phone with 5G configuration, Nigeria as a big market in Africa, Huawei could easily offer discounts on its 5G equipment to telecom operators inorder to sell its phone more faster and cover up the discounts in short time. You guys always bad mouth Nigeria. There are places in USA till now without 3G, same in some parts of Europe.

According to IPlytics, companies in China have applied for roughly 34% of the world’s major 5G patents as of March 2019, compared with South Korea’s 25%, and 14% each for the United States and Finland. Sweden stood at nearly 8%, and Japan at almost 5%, while Taiwan, Canada, the U.K., and Italy rounded out the top 10 countries, each with under 1% shares.

If you reside in Nigeria, it will only be a wish. I doubt if Nigeria will get to 5G in this century.
You are totally wrong. There is a competition among Nig. telecom companies. Huawei also supplies many of our telecom equipment which means they are affordable. If the US sanctions wouldn't affect them, it would land in Lagos, Abuja latest by first qtr of 2020. It has been tested in SA already

You are not totally correct. Stealing of intellectual properties is common in the advanced nations...USA, Russia, China, UK, German etc and are mostly done by companies because of competitions among them. There are many cases among US companies themselves; eg Apple and Quamm, Intel etc.
PhonesHuawei Has Completed The World's First 5G Live Broadcast In The UK by Jacseyi(op):
With help from Huawei, British cellular provider EE officially launched 5G networks in six cities across the UK on Thursday, including Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

The Internet speed could reach 100-150 Mbps in the busiest area under the EE's sole C-Band 40MHz frequency spectrum based on the test result after the launch, according to Huawei.

On the same day, the BBC made a demonstration of the power of 5G by conducting the world's first live broadcast over 5G.

The live broadcast was supported by Huawei equipment which appeared in a video posted by BBC technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones before he went live.

In the video, he addressed the equipment by saying, "This is what is gonna enable us to do the first live broadcast over 5G in the UK."

Cellan-Jones swung his body during the live broadcast to demonstrate the smoothness of the image transmission. But TV viewers noticed something else – his right hand was slightly shaking.

Cellan-Jones then revealed on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

"I'm getting good treatment and the symptoms are mild right now – so I'm carrying on as normal. Onwards and upwards!" he wrote on Twitter.

Another BBC reporter, Chris Fox, seemed to have a great experience with the network by posting a video using 5G and commenting "super-fast" on Twitter.

"Many news channels currently link several 4G connections together in order to stream video over mobile networks," Fox wrote in an article titled "5G: EE launches UK's next-generation mobile network."

"But using the 5G network, the BBC's technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones was able to broadcast in high definition using just one Sim card," he wrote.

Foreign AffairsRe: Citizens' Access To Modern Life And Development: P.R. China Or USA Who's Better? by Jacseyi(op): 9:54am On May 26, 2019
Hydroelectricity

Of course, 4G signals are inseparable from the electricity. Yunnan and Guizhou are also blessed with the hydropower. Most of the worlds’ largest dams and power stations listed here are from Yunnan and Guizhou. List of largest hydroelectric power stations - Wikipedia. They contribute to 30% of the hydroelectricity generated in China.

Yunnan hydropower generation: 280.4 terawatt hours [4]
Guizhou hydropower generation: 65.8 terawatt hours [5]
Three Gorges Dam (only) generation: 88.2 terawatt hours [6]

Compared to the power transmission and storage problem in Gansu, hydroelectricity generated in Yunan and Guizhou are directly transmitted to power up the Guangdong province and Hong Kong, because China has already built the ultra-high voltage power transmission line.
That means a fraction of your made-in-China products are actually manufactured using the hydro-power from Yunnan.
