IBD Foundation Awards Scholarships To Indigent Students

The Ibrahim Dende Foundation (IBD Foundation), one of the few non-governmental organisations, NGOs reputed for its genuine charitable ventures has awarded scholarships to three indigent students of Obanla Adeola, a primary 6 student of Muslim School, Oja-Odan, Adegoke Michael, a primary 5 student of Deuteronomy Academy, Ilaro to enable them continue with their secondary education.

The award is the initiative and vision of accomplished businessman, Ibrahim Dende of IBD fame under its educational and empowerment foundation designed to kick out poverty from the disadvantaged communities in the Yewa axis of Ogun State.

Speaking at the colourful Eid Mubarak celebration empowerment event organised by IBD Foundation tagged Kiddies Charity Funfair held at Igbo Atan compound, Ebute Igooro in Yewa axis of Ogun state, Mrs Lara Dende, the beautiful co-founder and wife of Ibrahim Dende reiterated the foundation's plans to impact on humanity positively.

Besides the announcement of scholarships to some indigent students from the Yewa axis, the charity event also witnessed a large turn out of Nollywood superstars and dignitaries like Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola, Ibrahim chatta , Qdot a
Alagbe, Hon. Haruna Egungbohun, Hon Alabama, Mr Lekan ( branch mgr access abk) Hon Oyefeso, Otunba Wale Adesina, Jumla , and Murphy Afolabi amongst others who thrilled the enthusiastic crowd to a night of unforgettable fun.

Ogun Election Tribunal: Abiodun Never Admitted Irregularities in His Election

In a bid to interfere in the judicial process going on in the election petition tribunal sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, the Akinlade camp has begun giving false reports of what goes on in the courtroom. In a recent report, the camp claimed that Governor Dapo Abiodun “might have admitted before the tribunal that his election was not free and fair.” This is a mischievous twist of the submissions of Governor Abiodun in court.

It is understandable however that this is because Hon. Akinlade and his puppeteer, Amosun have yet to heal from the wounds of their disgraceful loss at the election. Their loss was clearly a result of the people’s frustration with and eventual lack of confidence in the failed administration of Amosun who against all odds, went on a desperate mission to install an successor that would have continued in his established style of tyranny and crass disregard for method and structure. Amosun, himself already unpopular, lost his own local government and 5 out of all 8 state constituencies.

In the tribunal sitting in Isabo, the claim of overvoting, by the Akinlade camp, was never proven in court. It remains an unsubstantiated claim. Earlier, Governor Abiodun, through his counsel, Taiwo Osipitan (SAN), had urged the court to dismiss Akinlade’s petition, as he was unable to prove overvoting due to lack of witnesses.

Mamman Usman (SAN), counsel to Akinlade, has only been able to call 34 witnesses from 34 polling units out of the 142 polling units within the state. Note should be taken that these witnesses, though admitted before the court, only testified with respect to the said 34 polling units.

Osipitan observed that this did not prove overvoting, because even if all the votes from the 34 polling units were cancelled as Akinlade prayed, Akinlade would still lose by a wide margin. According to him, votes cast in the units are 2,394 and when this is deducted from overall votes cast, Dapo Abiodun would poll 239,389 votes while Akinlade would have 219,759 votes, leaving Abiodun leading. This is, noting that even if the votes cast in these polling units were given gratis to the candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Akinlade; the All Progressives Congress (APC) would still win the election by a wide margin.

It was this hypothesis that the Akinlade camp, lacking facts admissible before the court, predated on and mischievously twisted as Governor Abiodun’s acknowledgement of irregularities. These people have deliberately disregarded their actual inability to prove the claimed irregularity in the electoral process.

For the enlightenment of the good people of Ogun State, alarm should further be raised about the self-proclaimed reporters who churn out these propagandist claims. It has been stated elsewhere in an opinion written by a concerned citizen that the unpopular site which hosts these false claims and reports is itself a propagandist blog set up to roll out information intended to distract the good people of Ogun State from the truth. For instance, this recent report backs up its suspicious claims with the farce “as sighted by our correspondent.” This is, to say the least, a very insensitive piracy of the journalism profession.

Let it be restated that most importantly, Hon. Akinlade and his camp have not been able to substantiate the claim of overvoting. This claim and other allegations are untrue, and it is best they accept that they lost the election.

The good people of Ogun State should therefore not be worried about this most cunning distortion of words and intentions but be focused on the truth. Rest assured, the people have given the mandate to Prince Dapo Abiodun, even as the Amosun-Akinlade camp keep wailing that their mandate was stolen despite not being able to prove their atrocious claim. There is a new wind of peace that now blows across the State with the coming in of a new administration that knows the people always come before the government.

The Making Of Festus Keyamo

One of the major problems the Nigerian nation is facing is the PhD syndrome. In Nigeria, everybody is a PhD holder. By this, I mean Pull Him Down syndrome, once you have access to a dilapidated computer and you're able to manage its keyboard, then the coast is clear to indulge in self gratification by yelling some nonsense down a hole. Like they say, Nonsense is so good, only, because common sense is so limited.

It is the twilight of another democratic assembly and again, as expected, errand boys, employed by political opponents have began the usual mudslinging games. Some attention seeking political jobbers, in a bid to impress their paymasters have started throwing gauntlets, looking for victims where there are none, just to steer the body polity-a case of kettle calling pot black.

A typical example is a fictitious article making the rounds where a self-harm writer of an article titled, 'Keyamo's Reward' spuriously conjured his deliberative polling on one of Nigeria's gifted young men with exceptional intellectual ability, Barrister Festus Keyamo, SAN.

The sad thing is, the problems of this generation are its dramatic personae. We don't ever see anything good in ourselves. The writer, though gave credence to the brilliance and intellectual capacity of the legal luminary, Festus Keyamo, like all hatchet men, he didn't forget the primary briefs from his sponsors- to weigh-in, undermine and subvert the sterling and exemplary career status the young man, Festus Keyamo has laboured to build over the years.

Maybe he should be reminded that excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.

Those who have followed the footsteps and career mastery of the youngman will not be surprised the way he has emerged so far. He, is a product of dedication, doggedness and gradual result of always striving to be better, in actual fact, excellence, to Keyamo, is not a skill, it is an attitude. His likes are rarely found and more rarely valued.

The writer did not forget how he has nurtured a blossoming career from that super genius youngman who hails from a humble background and how he was able to walk tall amongst scores of brilliant legal team at the late Gani Fawehinmi's chambers to earn himself the 'Gani Boy'. If the dead do look back for real, the late legal icon, Chief Fawehinmi will be proud of what he has become at the moment and if it's that easy, the mischievous writer too should have been able to step into the shoes of the famous Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Shoyinka but obviously, wicked and envious people never see anything good in greatness for envy is pain at the good fortune of others.

He who is best prepared can best serve his moment of inspiration, the youngman has prepared himself for this job long ago right from his civil rights activism days to his relentless battle at the legal field.

His sins must have been his willingness to accept to serve his fatherland and they've forgotten that, the worst disservice to any nation is the act of winking in the dark. We now live in a world where politics has replaced philosophy, there's no way you can make a difference if you continue to bark from behind.

Leadership is the ability to have a compelling vision, a comprehensive plan, relentless implementation, and talented people working together. It is however, not by chance that the C-in-C, President Mohammadu Buhari had had the vision to choose someone whose cerebral influence, oratory prowess and over bearing personality was able to break the enemy's camp without fighting during the last presidential election.

There's no doubting the fact that, guided missiles from misguided men are expected at this point in time, from those cowards who now play victims to circumstances they created.

Ogun State: Why Dapo Abiodun must take his time!

The new Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun took the baton of leadership in Ogun state via the grace of God and hardwork of men.

The immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has driven the state through various policies and programmes of his own which has had both positive and negative effect on the state. Many till today still argue that the negative effects outweighed the positive effects.

Prince Dapo Abiodun is an astute business man who's success in the private sector is evident to everybody in the country. Going into politics has never been seen as a business for Dapo Abiodun but a call to serve. This has made him to have an edge to professionally handle Ogun state from his vast experience and success in the private sector.

A wise person doesn't just thread a path because it appears clear. A wise person think and watches every step he takes on a particular path especially if the part is a new one, so as not to fall into unseen bobby traps.

In Ogun, the immediate past government awarded capital projects in the excess of N300bn. Some of these projects have been paid for in full while others have not been paid for in full or at all. An example is the Somorin to Kemta road which was awarded to Zebragold for N3.6bn and nothing was done. Another example is the Sango Ojodu road which the government initially budgeted and awarded for N12bn and as at today, it has undergone variations with the cost rising to N70bn and N22bn already expended. The same can also be said of the Ilaro Owode road and a host of other capital projects.

A government with a sense of direction and sincerity would naturally check into these abnormalities so as to be accountable to it's people and deliver premium dividends of democracy according to what the people want and not what the government want.

Another aspect of the state's economy where Prince Dapo Abiodun is threading carefully is the business deal with the state and the world bank which involves agriculture and rural road construction. The immediate past government negotiated a world bank loan of $350m and processed the accessing of a $4m rice revolution loan without making available structures that would enable the government to pay its own counterpart fund to access the loans which will bring rural development to the state, reduce rural to urban migration, revolutionise the agricultural sector in the state thereby providing employment and creating thousands of jobs.

The world bank has revealed that any state with shady financial deals in order to obtain it's loan will be blacklisted. The story of the fake rice pyramid got to the world bank and the present governor is doing everything within its power to position Ogun state as a sincere state that is committed to the well-being of its people.

Lastly, the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun is planning and achieving the timely payment of key recurrent expenditure which inpacts directly in key citizens of the state. Recurrent expenditures such as salary payment, deductions, pension and gratuities, leave bonuses, subvebtion to secondary and tertiary schools etc. These are areas that have ran into comatose during the immediate past administration which the present government of Prince Dapo Abiodun is bringing back to life.

It's better for Prince Dapo Abiodun to take his time to sharpen his axe than rush to the bush to cut a tree with a blunt axe. He will never cut down a tree with a blunt axe. In Abraham Lincoln's quote, he said that he'd spend more time sharpening than cutting. But at the end of the day, he cut down that tree!

It appears the last has not been heard of the saga surrounding Bisola Johnson, her credibility and the contentious accusations she levelled against Pastor T.B. Joshua.

Surprising new footage has emerged from an American-Ghanaian businessman unveiling evidence of fraud perpetrated by Johnson – an ex-worker at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) – and a male accomplice named Theo.

In a video published to YouTube, Stephen Amponsem narrated how Johnson – who has been in the news for her public accusations against Joshua in the wake of the COZA rape scandal – defrauded him to the tune of $2,000.

“Bisola lied to me to get money from me and my wife. She’s been lying to many other people,” he insisted, before explaining the circumstances that led to his encounter with Johnson.

Amponsem revealed that a mental breakdown intertwined with spiritual attacks led him to abandon his home in Los Angeles, USA and left him ‘roaming the streets’ of Nigeria.

“There was no solution; doctors could not help. I went through all the country,” Stephen explained, adding that he finally resolved to visit The SCOAN following a surreal ‘spiritual’ attack.

“A woman – a spiritual woman – knocked at my door at 1am… She started to become a snake all over. She told me, ‘You can go to all churches around but don’t go to The Synagogue. That encouraged me to go to the church,” he revealed.

Footage dated back to 1996 then shows his encounter with a markedly younger Joshua. “I have a spiritual wife. Every night, I see her,” Amponsem is heard frantically complaining to the cleric who proceeds to pray for him after which he falls to the ground.

According to Amponsem, the prayer was followed by a strange encounter in the dream where his ‘spiritual wife’ reneged all contact with him after his visit ‘to that church’.

Returning to USA and reconciling with his Jamaican wife, Stephen’s sanity was fully restored and his business ventures soon prospered after this ‘deliverance’.

Explaining the involvement of Johnson, who now identifies herself as ‘Evangelist Theresa Hephzi-bah Johnson’ on social media, Amponsem revealed he met her during a visit to The SCOAN.

“One day, Bisola called me from Nigeria and said a young man named Theo would be coming to Los Angeles and we should entertain him,” he explained.

Unbeknownst to the Amponsems, Johnson had severed ties with Joshua and left his ministry at this time.

After welcoming Theo – under the impression he was affiliated with The SCOAN – Stephen gave him $2,000 of “financial support” for Emmanuel TV and two new suits as a personal gift for Joshua, requesting he give them to Bisola.

In a subsequent phone call with Johnson, she confirmed she had received the gifts and handed them over to The SCOAN.

Upon learning the resources were in fact never received by Joshua and Johnson had left the ministry in contentious circumstances, Amponsem was understandably irate.

“She is a 419 (fraudster) who is making money out of lying,” he asserted, speaking in the presence of several foreign ‘business partners’.

The clip ended with footage of Mr and Mrs Amponsem’s visit to the White House as a special guest of then US President George W Bush where they were honoured for their community contributions.

“I will never forget Pastor T.B. Joshua,”Stephen emotionally concluded. “Without his anointing and his ministry, I would be a crazy person begging on the streets of Los Angeles or Nigeria.”

Johnson has levelled several accusations against Joshua although footage released by Emmanuel TV revealed she had returned to the church on several occasions previously to retract her ‘false statements’ which she attributed to ‘irrational behaviour’.

The Final Match Between Senegal Vs Algeria Today

The Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has said he visits his hometown, Oka - Akoko in Ondo State regularly while dismissing media report suggesting otherwise as utterly misleading.

The attention of the media bureau of Prof. Ajayi Boroffice has been drawn to a media report suggesting the senator can no longer travel to his hometown in Ondo State because of kidnappers.

The said media report is utterly misleading as it did not reflect the crux, essence and meaning of what the senator said when he visited the Akure residence of Pa Reuben Fasoranti whose daughter was killed by gunmen. The misleading report seems more like offside interpretation and off-key inference.

Instructively the senator visited his hometown recently and he will visit his hometown by this weekend and next week to attend scheduled political engagements and community activities. Thus, the suggestion that he can no longer travel to his hometown does not represent the truth.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that when Senator Ajayi Boroffice spoke with reporters in Akure, he emphasized the enormity of security challenges and made reference to a spot near Oba Akoko which is said to be regular operational base of gunmen.

During the engagement with reporters, the senator also said government will find sustainable solutions to the menace. He called for synergy among security agencies and advised security agencies to work closely with space agencies to ensure accurate mapping of possible locations and hideouts of criminals in Ondo State and Nigeria in general.

A DAGGER TO OUR HEARTS!

The daylight assassination of Mrs. Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of our revered father and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, is a dagger to our hearts and an audacious insult to our collective humanity.

I have searched for days to find words most suitable to console Papa Fasoranti, my brothers, Taiwo and Kehinde Fasoranti, plus the immediate family as well as the larger Yoruba race and indeed all well meaning Nigerians. We can only pray that Almighty God shall comfort Papa Reuben Fasoranti with his family and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

This dastardly and gruesome murder of a mother at a time when she should begin to enjoy the joy of motherhood is a sordid reminder of how so lowly we have degenerated from the dizzying height of a peace-loving, fun-seeking accommodating people.

Olufunke's death is a clarion call for all Nigerians to immediately begin the search for our return to the values that once made our country the envy of others.

It is a time to assist the Security Agencies to smoke out the evil blood sucking demons from our land and declare in one voice; _enough is enough._ The perpetrators of this despicable act must be instantly brought to justice.

We must now re-establish our fast fading nature as a peaceful and accommodating people whose love for one another transcend ephemeral divisions of religion and ethnicity.

Olufunke Fasoranti Olakunrin must not be allowed to die in vain.

Super Eagles: Nigerians urge T.B. Joshua to prophecy About the game

Nigerians have urged T.B. Joshua to pray for Nigeria Against South Africa during the quarterfinal match tomorrow in the ongoing Nations Cup in Egypt.

‘Very few banks’ i totally agree. I once had an issue similar to this with my bank, the money was not much. I visited the bank and trust me, it was a waste of time. Yea the money in question was small but it is my sweat now( 5,500). The way the customer service person addressed me was really demeaning. And this is one of the most hyped banks in the country.

It's sad but All u need to do was visit the UBA branch nearest to you. It's a system error which is normal and would be effected. I have an Ecobank account too and had a similar experience and the issue wasn't blown out of proportion.

Succor has finally come the way of veteran Nollywood actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya as his medical bills have been sorted out by popular Abuja pastor, Joshua Iginla.



Reports have it that Elder Maya, who is arguably the longest surviving Nigerian actor, is down with a liver-related problem as the actor is down with a swollen leg and stomach which causes him pain.



But on Sunday May 22, 2016 during the birthday ceremony of the clergy man, one of the colleague of the aged actor, Bruno Iwuoha told the man of God about Elder Maya’s condition and the fact that he needs about #800,000 naira to undergo operation and that some of his colleagues have been soliciting for funds from good Samaritans.



Upon hearing this, Brother Iginla frowned at the move of his colleagues to beg for fund to save Elder Maya’s life. He immediately wrote a cheque of one million naira for the man and also promised to look into his situation ones he gets back on his feet.



The actor, fondly called Papa Labista, who is popular for his village chief priest’s roles in movies, was reportedly diagnosed with liver disease at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State. This was disclosed by his fellow colleague, actor Ernest Obi, through his Instagram account.



According to him: “Elder Maya is currently down with a liver-related problem.” He also started a campaign aimed at collecting funds for the treatment of the ailing actor but now, his helper of destiny has located him.
