Q- Recently, you did a movie called ‘JAMBATA’ can you tell us about that

R- Yes! That’s a movie, JAMBATA you know, I’ve a song that got to do with that kind of thing ‘SHAYO LOVE’. Its……emmm…. Its not the same thing but I can say it’s the same because SHAYO LOVE is about guys when they are in clubs, they promise heaven and earth, after drinking they promise you, don’t worry tomorrow I will buy you shop, take you to shoprite, I’ll buy you that…….the next morning is another story entirely. JAMBATA, is a story of three occupant living In the same flat, and I’ve told you about shayo love now, so when am saying three occupant now, the lady Is fola and the other two guys, they live together in the same building and the two happens to be big boys while fola happens to be a graduate. Let me stop there…….(laugh).

Q- So who are the faces featuring in that movie

R- I told you it a three casts movie, that’s FEMI ADEBAYO, YOMI GOLD and MYSELF OYITA

Q- How challenging it is?

R- very, very challenging because I was thinking it will be very easy because it’s a three cast movie, you understand , so I was thinking am no going to have a challenge, I’ve been producing but when I was shooting jambata, I felt it going to be easy because it’s a three cast movie , I only have myself, femi Adebayo and yomi gold on set but I tell you, its more taskful, Femi Adebayo himself because it’s a three cast movie, he felt oyinta you are only paying for me and yomi gold now, so their fee is more than what they suppose to take. And for us to put it together to come good, it really challenging because we don’t want it to be boring

Q- What has been the secret of your success?

R-emm… it’s because am focus. Is not as if money is running anywhere but because am determined and God doing because I know what I want. Even when I got some challenges, I face it I know surely I will laugh the laughter of joy one day. So I just have to keep moving it about believing in one doing and trusting in God and believe one day everything will be fine.





Q- You are beautiful, you are sexy, so how do you handle your male admirers?

R- Well! It’s about understanding, It’s a simple thing. It’s just a matter of understanding. I understand my fans and I know they just love what I do, so when they come across me, I just tell them thank you and all of that.

Q- What are you working on next?

R- Am working on my next movie ‘ Itunmo’, likewiswe my band. We have been rehearsing so hopefully, we are going to have our band soon. It is a live band. I’m working on that and also my next movie though I just finished one production but we don’t have to sit down. So am still working on so many things. As soon as they are done, it will be seen.

Q – Who will you consider as your role model?

R- Mama rainbow is my role model, she is a very good woman, a good mother. Even at 70, she still looks young and she does good job, she is someone everybody love to relate with. She is scandal free, she’s a wonderful mother.

some land owners of Ijagba community and their neighbors in Sagamu, Ogun state have taken Lafarge cement WAPCO Nigeria to court over an expanse area of land which was compulsorily acquired by the military government of the state late in the 1990s.

Reports have it that over 1,000 hectares of land was acquired for public purposes abosolutely and especially for the establishment of cement factory. After the acquisition, the land owners reportedly challenged the surveyors who were working on the land which they told then (Land owners) that they (Surveyors) were staff of the state government who were paving way for a state owned cement factory in which the children of the community would have unrestricted access to employment. The land owners were happy and gladly agreed with the acquisition.

But at a meeting held at the Onijagba’s palace on Wednesday,11th July, 2007 over the crop enumeration exercise, representatives of both of the state government and Lafarge disclosed that the land was going to be transferred to Lafarge to exploit. This angered the land owners who spoke in one voice that Lafarge should pay the market value of the land. Since there had been open confrontation between the land owners on the land, Lafarge and Ogun state government, on the other hand, this led to the land owners’ letter of 19th May, 2008 demanding full compensation from Lafarge. In order to get a full picture of the story, this column made enquiries from Lafargeholcim in Europe, the parent company of Lafarge cement WAPCO Nig. PLC in an email on Nov. 4, 2015 and demanded answers to a 14-list set of questions. The questions bordered on why Lafarge should allow themselves to be dragged to court over a land they would immensely exploit for profit.

Since Lafargeholcim have not bothered to respond to our enquiry, we take it probably a corporate policy of the company not to countenance agitations that may benefit them. The land owners claim to have been so treated by Lafarge in Nigeria.

This column has therefore decided to go ahead with the story as far as our investigation can support.

Since the land owners letter on 19th May, 2008 referred to the land owners have reportedly made a series of overtures to Lafarge with a view to arriving at an amicable settlement. The company’s attitude had been negative.

In March 2014, the land owners reportedly instituted a legal action against Lafarge claiming full compensation for the land that had been transferred to them. The ogun state government was joined in the action.

After the completion of the crops enumeration excises the state government wrote to Lafarge to send their cheque for some #32,000,000 as compensation for the crops and structures. The sum was distributed by the state government to the land owners in accordance with the crops enumeration list. This list was prepared well ahead of the meeting at Onijagba’s palace in July 2007.

Lafarge is reportedly claiming that the 32m for crops was for the land. This shows that one hectare of land would cost about #32,000 i.e a plot of land of 60ft x 120ft will cost #2,134 or less than ten euro!!! Can’t someone in Lafarge be serious?

On its own part, the state government is contesting that the action by the land owners was statute barred but the court has ruled that it was not statute barred as the transfer of the land to Lafarge took place in 2008/2009. All other grounds of objection by the state government were also ruled in favor of the land owners.

It is understood that subsequent to the court ruling in the proceeding paragraph, the land owners had again extended their hand of fellowship to Lafarge for dialogue which the company hasn’t reciprocated.

The question bothering this column is why Lafarge should think they should seize the land which has been the source of livelihood for over three and a half centuries from the land owners and pay nothing for it. They want to exploit this land for profit and send 60% of such profit to shareholders outside the shores of the country. The remaining 40% will be distributed to less than 50% of the Nigerian population and probably none of the land owners benefiting from such distribution. The land owners have reportedly decided to resist the injustice

Before receiving the donation at the police headquarters in Accra, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, said the motorbikes would help the police patrol places which could not be accessed with vehicles.

“I am sorry for the armed robbers and other criminals. The motorbikes will be used by armed police officers to ensure that people go about their activities without fear,” he said.

He was happy the truism that crime combat was not the preserve of the police, but a shared responsibility with the public was now dawning on society.

Policing, he said, was becoming increasingly complex and demanding. “In fact, it can be dangerous, stressful and dehumanising,” he said.

As a result, Mr Alhassan said, the Ghana Police Service would need the consistent support of all stakeholders including the church, to be able to discharge its mandate satisfactorily.

In line with scriptures, he said Prophet Joshua had brought relief in spiritual and material terms to a number of people through his passion for the needy, support for the aged and victims of natural disasters while reforming armed robbers and prostitutes.

Speaking on behalf of Prophet Joshua, Mr Samuel Kwame Sackey, who led a delegation from the Ghana branch of SCOAN to make the donation, commended the Police Administration for reducing armed robbery and other social vices and creating a safe environment for businesses.

“Churches now freely attend all-night services and members are not afraid to return home without fear. Investor confidence has been boosted as a result of the peace and safety,” he said.

He lauded the IGP for introducing initiatives such as police visibility, the public confidence reaffirmation programme and transforming the Formed Police Unit and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department.

“Prophet Joshua, Emmanuel TV partners and members of the SCOAN sincerely appreciate these innovations and initiatives and all the benefits these have brought to Ghana,” Mr Sackey said.

He was hopeful that the three top-of-the-range Toyota pickup vehicles and the motorbikes would complement the initiatives of the Ghana Police Service to enhance peace, safety and business growth in Ghana.

During a courtesy visit by some government officials including my humble self to his office two months ago, he told them categorically that Boko Haram is in Lagos and that all hands should be on deck to thwart their deadly mission in Lagos. According to him, it would be quite disastrous if they successfully carry out their suicide bombing attack in Lagos and Abuja. He said that through prayers and vigilance on the part of government, sooner or later they will be exposed but stated categorically that they are already in Lagos.

Thus, it wasn’t a surprise when the State Security Service, SSS, stated that it arrested over a dozen Boko Haram leaders in the past two months including nine in Lagos and one in Enugu State.

The SSS, also known as DSS, said this in a statement by its spokesperson, Tony Opuiyo, on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Mr. Opuiyo said “the sudden influx of Boko Haram members into Lagos State points to the determination of the sect to extend its nefarious terrorist activities to the State and in fact, other parts of the country.”

The Boko Haram, whose terrorist activities has caused the death of about 20,000 people, has only carried out attacks in Northern Nigeria, particularly in the north-east.

According to the spokesperson, “the arrest of these confessed terrorist elements has however helped in no small measure to avert devastating attacks in the area.”
“In line with the Department of State Services’, DSS, re-strategised Counter Terrorism measures to combat the menace of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria, the Service has continued to make significant breakthroughs in this direction. This followed the rounding up of notable commanders and frontline members of the notorious group from different parts of the country. It should be noted that the group’s new pattern of movement and spread is necessitated by the pressure being put on them in their core areas of strength in the North East.

2. Consequently, a number of them have been arrested in Lagos, Kano, Plateau, Enugu and Gombe States between July 8 and August 25, 2015. Of particular note was the arrest on July 8, 2015 in Gombe State of those responsible for the coordination and execution of the suicide attacks in Potiskum, Kano, Zaria and Jos. They are:

Usman SHUAIBU (a. k. a. Money):
3. SHUAIBU revealed that he coordinated the attacks under reference with the sum of N500,000 which was provided by his Amir, one Isa ALI. He claimed that the said Isa ALI has links to the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar SHEKAU, from where he collects monies to fund operations undertaken by their Markaz. Also, he revealed that he has participated in several Boko Haram attacks, including the attacks at Gwoza Divisional Police Station in 2014.

4. SHUAIBU admitted being the leader of the team of nine (9) sect members that was dispatched from Sambisa Forest to carry out the attacks. He disclosed that four out of the nine of them were used as suicide bombers in executing all the (suicide) attacks.

5. Suspect, an IED expert, confessed to the preparation of the IEDs used for the mentioned attacks. He also averred that he was the one who strapped the suicide bombers, notably SULE and his wives, with IED vests, which they used in the attacks in Jos.

6. Suspect confessed that Usman SHUAIBU motivated him to work closely with Ahmed MOHAMMED (aka ABUBAKAR) in the preparation of the IEDs used in the attacks under reference.

7. Suspect confessed that he was the one who carried out reconnaissance on the targets in Jos ahead of the attacks.

Muttaqa YUSUF (aka Mohammed SANI/Mudtaka):

Suspect disclosed that one ALIYU, believed to be Aliyu GOMBE, in Sambisa forest, was the one that ordered the serial attacks which the syndicate carried out. He further confessed that he assisted Usman SHUAIBU in planning and executing the said attacks.9. Other arrests include:
i. Bakura MODU:- He was arrested on July 20, 2015, at Kara, Isheri Berger, Ikeja LGA, Lagos State;
ii. Mustapha Alli JAMNERI:- He was arrested on July 24, 2015, at Gowon Estate, Egbeda, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State;

iii. Abuyi SHERRIFF:- suspect was arrested on August 7, 2015, at Ebute-Metta, Lagos Mainland LGA, Lagos State;

iv. Babagana ALI and Babagana KOLOYE:- were arrested same day (August 7, 2015), at Eric Moore, Bode Thomas Street, Surulere LGA, Lagos State;

v. Abba Modu SAGMA: He was arrested on August 9, 2015, at Ijora Badiya, Apapa LGA, Lagos State;

vi. Grema ABUBAKAR and Tijani BAGUDU: were arrested on August 10, 2015, at Amukoko, Ijora Badiya, Apapa LGA, Lagos State;

vii. Baba Alhaji and Abass IBRAHIM:- were arrested earlier on the same day (August 10, 2015), at Alaba International Market, Alaba, Ojo LGA, Lagos State;

viii. IBRAHIM AUDU: Suspect was arrested on August 192015, at New Artisan Market, Enugu, Enugu State;

ix. Ibrahim HARUNA: The 30-year old suspect from Kanawa village, Sumaila LGA, Kano State was arrested on August 21, 2015, at Kwomi village, Kwami Local Government Area, Gombe State;

x. Mal Ali MOHAMMODU: The 33-year-old suspect was arrested on August 22, 2015, at Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Fagga LGA in Kano State;

xi. Adam Wakil Abdul JILBE: was arrested on August 23, 2015, at Obanikoro Area, Mushin LGA, Lagos State; and

xii. Mohammed USMAN: was arrested on August 25, 2015, at Atuashe Estate, Gbagada, Kosofe LGA, Lagos State.

10. Nigerians and indeed the general public have to note that the arrest of Usman SHUAIBU aka Money and the core members of his cell, stemmed the spate of bombings by the extremist sect. It would be recalled that MONEY and his group were arrested on their way to Bauchi State where they had planned to execute another heart-rending bomb attack and this was frustrated by the arrest.

Furthermore, the sudden influx of Boko Haram members into Lagos State points to the determination of the sect to extend its nefarious terrorist activities to the State and in fact, other parts of the country.

The arrest of these confessed terrorist elements has however helped in no small measure to avert devastating attacks in the area. However, the Service is making efforts to conclude its investigations and commence prosecution of the suspects.

11. Drawing from the above, the DSS reiterates its avowed determination to work with other stakeholders in the fight against terror and other forms of criminality in our country. Citizens and residents are therefore called upon to rise to the occasion by volunteering useful information to the Service and relevant security agencies”.
