Why not go after the few rich men who erode our subsidy through corrupt means than transfer the suffering on the entirety of Nigerians?
Where are savings from the stoppage of diesel and kerosene subsidy. They looted it all and same will be the case for fuel subsidy. Nigerians will be enmeshed in hyper poverty for no real reasons Tell us what you would have done to stop the subsidy removal, afterall, all the top càndidàtes said they were coming to remove it. |

People drop out because they have better options, if u have better options, u won't have problems paying back the loan.
You obviously didn't attend a university. People dropout for various reasons which can emotional, mental, psychological or physical and it's not all positive.
What happens to a student that has an extra year, how is such a student expected to pay for the spill over? I'm not trying to trash the bill but i think it was signed hastily, probably as a favour to Gbajamila. I probably didn't attend a university? For the records I got my first degree from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in Chemical Engineering with first class honours and that was my first degree. I saw people drop out, people dropped out because of money and because they got better options. U keep asking irreIevant questions tho. A loan is a loan. |

I wonder how you will blame a vice president for avery bad thing that happened but praise the president for every good thing that happened. Go and check the living conditions of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 then compare it with today's living conditions. Check the amount of debt the country had when Atiku was in charge and compare it today's Nigerians debt. Without the selling of Nitel by Atiku, I don't think you will have a personal phone. Tinubu is the worst thing that has ever happened to this country. Selling NITEL cost the loss of Mtel, I am sure u don't know what Mtel was. Living conditions of Nigeria from 1999-2007 was very bad compared to now. That's a fact. Atiku himself talked about his part in ALSCON, some how u want to justify him. He stole Adamawa water to Faro. IbeOkehie: NOTHING from government, especially NATIONAL GOVERNMENT or Federal Governments, ever works efficiently. Nothing at all. That's all anyone needs to know. The evidence is all around you.
ALL of Nigeria's problems flow from excessive government control, interference and benevolence. Yes, even when the intentions are good the results are not. Federal takeover of ALL universities in 1975, how did that work out? Wow, what about the fuel subsidy introduced in 1973 or the more recent Anchor Borrowers Program, School Feeding Scheme and Conditional Cash Transfers to the poor?
NEPA is still there, now called TCN, how far? NTA and FRCN, National Stadium Lagos and Abuja, NNPC and it's refineries, Ajaokuta & Delta Steel? Federal Government Colleges? NYSC? Even CBN can't handle the national currency....the value keeps plummeting year after year and it got to the point Nigerians had to use new money to buy old money to transact business.
Nothing from government ever works. It's impossible in Nigeria.
Good Luck to Nigeria. Many of these things were working till 1999 when OBJ took over. From OBJ to Buhari and most all these stuffs dîèd and dyiñg sIowIy. Shows civilian rule/democracy is not for us. |

budaatum: Many people got agriculture loans and never paid back.
We were once asked to form a co-op for cassava loans. Lots of people joined only for me to discover those running it were not even farmers, and were padding it with us who were to give them credibility. I later found out this was cassava loan 2.0. First time they did it lots of people ran away from town because they could not pay it back having never had land nor planted cassava.
Personally, I don't understand how people expect a savvy Tinubu (you have to be savvy to have had to forfeit in America what it's claimed he forfeited), not to put hoops in place so he gets our money back plus profit.
To impact people, those who took loans must pay it back. I know about this cassava story. It was extended to Benue. I know someone in Abuja who worked tooth and nail to get the contract to Benue only for it to fail, I was told commissioner for agric in benue got involved, that was about 4-5 years ago and the farmers didn't even get 50% of the whole money planned for the program, is that true? |

Dybala11: This is what everyone should champion, but knowing our politicians I'm still not convinced they'd do that until they do. We shall see as things unfold though. Removing subsidy is a right call, which must be followed by actions and policies that'll make it worthwhile for the citizens. I keep saying this. Problem with Nigèria doesn't rely wholly with polîticians. Nigèriàñs are too grèèdy to help the society. When funds are released to ministries, these ministries bring in their people to take over contracts for an agreed percentage that will get back to them, on the long run, they end up giving us substandard sh*ts. I was in a church, people were sharing testimonies on how they got contracts worth 300m, 500m etc. And the church was clapping for them. Those were public contracts that those people never executed and the church was clapping for them. |
