Politics / Re: PDP Says Presidency Under Buhari Now A Den Of Thieves by jagojunior(m): 8:46pm On Oct 10, 2019
festacman:
The truth is that PDP has outlived its usefulness and now it is reaping from its wickedness to Nigerians. They will be out in the cold for a long time to come.

It all went wrong when former President Olusegun Obasanjo in conjuction with Atiku Abubakar 'stole' the party from original founders. He chased them away, steered the party away from its values and eventually enthroned a generation of insensitively corrupt politicians who violated Nigeria and its resources for 16 years, leaving the country in very bad shape.

Thank God for the gift of MAI GASKIYA who stopped the madness and restored sanity. From now on, things can only get better, bright and beautiful for Nigeria.

Freehuman:
That cashless policy could have turned everything around in 2023 election tribunals.
Imagine a scenario where all a lawyer needs to do to support his claim that a politician was involved in votes buying is to present the politician's bank details showing history of numerous 5000 Naira transfers on election day.
Secondly, how do they bribe those in rural areas. If it didn't threaten the existence of the selfish legislature at Abuja, it would be a welcomed development.

So in your small mind, a politician who is ready to buy votes cannot afford the 5% withdrawal charge?
OR
You think bullion vans will charge the 5% to transport cash around?

Health / Re: How A Cleaner Rubbished A P.hD Holder by jagojunior(m): 11:00pm On Aug 13, 2019
doctokwus:
Some patients can really get on one's nerves that you sometimes lose all self control and restraint, but why pick on the innocent child just because he/she is SS?
That cleaner/ nurses are lucky to some extent because some other women would have caused commotion in that hospital that day, disrupting activities and giving the facility a bad name because no matter the provocation, anyone that hears what the cleaner with the nurses said would not have supported her and would have harshly scolded the them and the facility's MD for having such characters in it's employ.
Pick on the woman instead and insult her if you feel pained.
This Dr too should be ashamed celebrating shaming an innocent SS patient.
Shameful and unprofessional.
If all Drs and nurses were to react to what some patients say and do to them in hospitals,I bet there would have been daily incidents of patients, patient relations or hospital staff being killed.
Thank God guns are illegal in Nigeria.

OP said cleaner but your oversabi have added Nurse to it. With all this grammar you still couldn't read and comprehend simple write-up

dondazie:

Your reasoning amuses me. What was the discussion about in the first place? Was it not to refute davido's narrative on the number of registered voters for the supplementary election? What has it got to do with number of people who have collected PVC. The lesson here is that you don't take side with anyone without doing your own due diligence and davido was wrong with the info he posted(he did it deliberately to cause mischief). And that is because he knows there are many like you who will take it like that without analysing what he said.

Have I taken side?

Did you at any point see Davido's point in my comment?

You were trying to be smart with half facts and insulting others, I pointed what would have been the complete analysis that you selectively left out and being a judgemental person, you couldn't help but label me

At this point, the only thing I'm interested in is the true voting strength in the areas the rerun election will hold

Please take time and read the issue again, this time slowly.. when you are done, read what you have written and tell me the correlation between the two

Please take time and do a proper analysis before calling people fools.
What we should be asking from INEC is the true voting strength and not just some vague figures of voters registered.

One can register but yet to collect one's PVC. When you're able to provide that detail instead of just showing us number of registered voters come back and quote me

You know exactly what I'm talking about

Many gullible people abound in this country, once an information comes into public space what they do is just swallow it hook line and sinker without verifying... If you cannot verify davido's claim on your own before masturbating on this thread then I am sorry for you...your mumu never do.... Verifying information before commenting on them is not too much to do.

Mr Analyst, you're the joker here

The figure you presented is showing number of registered voters which is totally different from number of voters who have collected their PVCs

Take your time and verify that one before calling others fools

cheesy

I just did mine bro and my lady is from Anambra state.

I presented just a bottle of nonalcoholic wine (as advised by my fiancée ) because I was going to meet the Mom. Her dad stays somewhere else.

It's the first visit and doesn't demand much. Please, don't put much stress on yourself, you're just starting.

A bottle of wine is okay but if the Dad drinks then buy two bottles (one quality alcoholic wine for the Dad and one nonalcoholic wine for the mother/family)

Good luck!

If there is any word that sounds "softer" than wickedness buh best describes an act more evil than any wicked act, the word is politics..

This is why I say you cant be a complete politician and claim to have the fear of God at the same time.

Buhari "might" not be aware..but there are people playing politics with human lives in his government. The religion flavour we are getting on this issue is just to distract us from the main issue.

Nigeria is like a stranded chick in the company of starving hawks. Even with its mother around, the same looming faith staring at the chick will be the faith of its mother..

If I had a million likes I would have given it to your comment.

I have told folks that the Christian girl left behind is to deflect attention to Religious sentiment

Watch how Nigerians will swallow the bait and start another religious fight from this whole thing

Yes my brother, we will create both telegram, Facebook group, fan page, twitter, etc....we need at least 500 interested nairalanders here first to kick off.

Once we have enough people showing interest to join, then we can proceed to creating those other channels where can then discuss extensively, the mission, goals, and steps to be taken.

We also need state coordinators in every state and campus coordinators in every Nigerian higher institution to mobilize more youths to join before we launch out fully. Do you think we can achieve this What's your view?

I'm super interested.

A true leader that just led his party from the first seat in the nation should still have it in him. SAS was one of his appointees to start with.

His silence speaks volume of him especially in this trying time for his party (a party that gave him everything).

Politics / Re: True Federalism, Its Advantages And Implications. by jagojunior(m): 12:24pm On Jun 15, 2016
biafratwo:

The topic is on federalism, it’s advantages and disadvantages plus we want to weigh the options so as to determine what’s best for the already failing country.
But you have just laid bare your fears and it’s ok for obvious reasons as you have somehow outlined in your post.
Fact still remains glaring. The incessant calls for secession and the public backlash against the government is because the current system has failed woefully.
Federalism and it’s many variants is an optimal solution for states comprising different cultural and/or ethnic communities and may just be the solution to the countries problem even though it is not without its demerits.
Viewing through your lense:
1. You should not be afraid federalism would bring about secession. Even if it does, what do you have to loose? Have you not had enough already?
2. GREED is still the bane of the current system. It is evident in party power tussles. So what? It is still certain death both ways.

Value reorientation alone is not enough and we both know that.
Bottom line: Federalism may just be the solution.
#OurTwoKobos

I appreciate your contribution and patience.
What we have now is not very far from federalism, yes, it's not true federalism but it's a system that allows for development as well as reward for it. I said this because, every state controls its IGR and does as it pleases with it aside getting monthly addition from the center. We can cite other countries as examples of places where federalism is working for them but brotherly, this is Nigeria. A country bedeviled with her peculiar characteristics that always cripple well thought out policies copied from system where such policies work perfectly.
I like the fact that you used "maybe" for the workability of federalism for Nigeria. Who knows, it might work but I strongly doubt it. My pessimism on its workability is from the fact that we had something like federalism which failed us (evidenced by the reasons given by the coup plotters) before the promulgation of decree 34. If you think federalism was working for us back then, then why the coup? What makes you think it will work with the caliber of leaders today?

Nevertheless, there are things like Local government autonomy, complete state House Of assembly autonomy, removing certain areas (like power generation and transmission) from the firm grip of the FG, relaxing certain laws, etc etc, all these if properly done will set a clean stage for seamless birth of federalism, that is if we still believe that we need it afterwards.

We have a unique system of government now, something that if we can properly harness positively will be a model to other countries, why are we pushing it away. O! I forget, if it's not an imported version then it won't work.

We complain of having lazy governors yet we unconsciously defend their laziness by using allocation from Abuja as an excuse. News flash, "you can't give what you don't have" if you give them true federalism or resource control or regionalism that might not change them because they can't give what the never had.

Implementing some of the items I listed earlier will give us subtle federalism in the system we already have without causing chaos that might consume everyone.

Brotherly, value reorientation as stated in earlier posts doesn't mean an all or non solution, we will do that together we structural reform policies but federalism is to the extreme, jumping steps and rushing to the extreme won't augur well for any of us.

NB: I refused to talk about the topic directly cos almost everything about what it means and all the viable advantages and disadvantages have been outlined and discussed by others, this is why I went to give what might come out of it using the peculiarity of our Naija system/factors.

Thank you for your time. Shalom!
Politics / Re: True Federalism, Its Advantages And Implications. by jagojunior(m): 11:52pm On Jun 14, 2016
biafratwo:
Nobody want's to look inward cos the state is dependent on the federal for allocation. Since the head/system isn't working, the whole body can't function properly.
The merits of a federal system outweighs the ills.

Let's call a spade a spade and quit beating around the bush. What y'all are looking for is secession, it is as simple as ABC. Like I said, I'm a realist and it's better you shoot straight than going round a viscous cycle pretending about your true intention. If regionalism comes into play today, what will be the sanction on zones that violate remitting of the agreed percent to the centre? What will be the negotiating chip by the government at the centre? OR
Is it the same center that currently wields enormous power yet powerless to query the states to account for fund utilisation that will hold an empowered zone (through regionalism) accountable? Maybe You are thinking that respect and sanity will only return when power is stripped off an already weak (but wrongly tagged powerful) center that controls almost all resources in the country yet disrespected by every Tom, Dick and Harry living in Nigeria on a daily basis. Please, think again and this time from a different perspective.

Viewing through my lens:
Bottom line is this, any call for regionalism/resource control/true federalism etc right now is a call for secession and the truth is that GREED is the true reason behind that call. I don't want to be a prophet of doom but brotherly, the last time some over zealous soldiers changed the system of resource control in Nigeria (ie decree 34), a civil war broke out. Today, same group is the brain behind pushing for a reverse in the system to what was before decree 34. Trust me, another civil war will follow. If it wasn't greed to control all the resources in every region by those that brought this system upon us, why the promulgation of decree 34 that year? They thought they will live forever and have supreme access to everybody's resources. Karma is a fvcking Dam. The table turned and the music quickly changed. Nigerian history as a compulsory course should be introduced in primary and secondary schools to help us appreciate how far we have come and how we can navigate the dangerous bend we have found ourselves.

Please, disabuse your minds of the illusion that regionalism is the magic wand that will turn everything around for us as a nation.
I will echo it again, value reorientation (especially the leaders) is what we need now. We have come a very long way as a Nation, any attempt to actualize this wishful thought of regionalism/secession/resource control will only bring war. There are no losers or winners of a war, we all share from both sides of the divide maybe a little bit unevenly. Reality check should tell us that the country is too messed up and unripe for any of these right now. A word they said is enough.

However, que sera sera. Shalom!
