Were you on exile when boko haram nominated him as a mediator? Were you in prison when Buhari threatened to soak the blood of baboons and dogs in blood? Were you in asylum when his childishness and careless statements (which made him never to accept defeat) caused over a thousand lives after 2011 election? In a saner climate, such person will never smell the seat of power, even though Jonathan was kicked out.

Let me also state here that apart from him, many other northern elites and youths were solidly behind boko haram back then when they were bombing churches, hence frustrating the efforts of the Nigerian army. Many of them criticized Ihejirika and ganged against him when he was facing the sect head on. Some were vocal supporters just like the one on the seat of power, some other ones shielded them and helped integrate them into the economy so that the army gets frustrated, while others wore T-shirts with inscriptions "we rep boko haram".

It even got to a point where those Bornu elders asked Jonathan to withdraw military from Bornu state amidst the insurgency going on there, while Jonathan asked them to sign agreement that there will not be any more killing first before he does that.

Boko haram was nurtured and protected by the north so they should also share the blames. When we're ready to face the truth, then maybe boko haram will be defeated..
