OriOko88:Haha now that is the question that all students of history must ponder haha. |
OriOko88:The Kaaba is protected by Alan's Snack Bar from any missile strikes. Any projectile aimed at the Kaaba will land on Uranus instead. |
What happens in the desert landscape of remote Borno State, STAYS in Borno State. Na dem-dem family matter, for our speakers of Brokenese dialect. |
Mrdigitech:Like yourself, I eagerly look forward to when the importation of air rifles is resumed in Nigeria, so I can buy the 25-caliber Air Venturi Avenger PCP rifle of my dreams. In addition to the near-silent discharge of air rifles, and their being able to bring down medium sized game with well-placed head-shots, the affordability of pellets in comparison to firearm ammunition is another big draw for this penny-pinching miser. Hoping to see the air rifle import light turn green soon for Nigeria. Over and out for now. |
Mrdigitech:The point you made about the double recoil of break barrel air guns is true, and I did use a scope that was rated for air guns and not for regular firearms. I still cannot figure out why that aim point kept drifting even after I tightened down all the screws holding the scope to the rail, before adjusting the scope windage and elevation numerous times. The failure of the springs in all the 5 magazines I bought for that gun, followed by the failure of the pellet loading mechanism, were the final straws that led me to decide that Gamo was a bad choice of brand names, at which point I sold the gun to a fellow hunter who felt he might find a fix for the aim point, and thereafter use the gun without the loading mechanism. The Air Venturi in 25 caliber is my dream air rifle for when they become available in Nigeria. I would not dare try and bring one into the country myself, even though an air gun can be possessed legally without a permit, so like you I will have to pay five-fold the dollar cost, AND buy a pump, as soon as the import of those toys is once again permitted. If you get one before me, please post some details of your hunting adventures in this forum. I love to hear a good hunting story. |
Mrdigitech:You definitely know your air rifles, and I would have gladly sold you my Gamo Swarm, but for the fact that I disposed of it a while back when I found it impossible to properly zero in the scope. If you are about to get a new air rifle, I strongly suggest that you consider the Air Venturi Avenger in 25 caliber. With that heavier pellet, you can easily hunt for deer and wild pigs, provided that you place your shots with surgical precision to hit the head. Unlike a shotgun which can disable any animal even if you hit it in a non-critical part of the body, air rifles MUST hit the head or neck vertebrae to shut the animal down. I was astounded at how cleanly this hunter in Texas was able to kill wild pigs one after the other with his 25 caliber Air Venturi Avenger. The enormous benefit of an air rifle is that they are virtually silent, which allows the hunter to kill several animals that are close to each other, without scaring the rest of them away as would be the case if a single shotgun blast was touched off. Check out this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dfdooK8j5c |
Mrdigitech:The situation with air rifle ownership in Nigeria is as follows : There is, according to the Nigerian Firearms Legislation of 1990, no requirement for air rifles to be licensed, meaning that any civilian can buy and possess an air rifle without needing to apply for a firearms license. That said, the importation of air rifles into Nigeria has been suspended for about 2 years now, which means that the few importers who used to sell these rifles in Nigeria at 5 times their dollar value, cannot do so currently, and have none in stock to sell to the public. With this in mind, your only avenue to acquire an air rifle would be if you are lucky enough to find a current owner of one who would be willing to sell his rifle to you. This would still leave you with the problem of buying the pellets that the gun will require, as they are scarce in Nigeria, despite being perfectly legal to import. I must caution that the Gamo Swarm air rifle that I bought some years ago turned out to be a terrible design, which became unusable over just a few short years. The pellet loading mechanism became inoperable, upon which I broke it off so that I could insert pellets one by one, which is a tedious process. The worst deterioration I noted, however, was that the Gamo Swarm lost its accuracy and proved impossible to adjust for accuracy thereafter. I therefore advise that you AVOID any air rifle that bears the Gamo name, as they are in fact poorly made garbage that I truly regret buying. If you are a wealthy and highly connected man, for whom price is no object, I highly recommend the Air Venturi Avenger, which runs at the price point of $350 USD. Be advised, however, that this is a PCP air rifle which can best be filled up with an air pump that costs WAY more than the gun, typically in the range of $500 for a cheap one. All told, you are looking at over 2 million naira to buy this gun when the time comes that their importation is permitted again.

tesseract:Those long coats look like the outfits one sees drunks wearing on winter nights in seedy parts of London. On a practical level the long coats would make it extremely difficult to run, and could even trip up the wearer to make them fall over at the worst possible time. |
Mrdigitech:I have seen the email notifications from you but I have not had access to that email address of mine for many years. I suggest you start a new thread on this subject in the technology section, and I will respond. |
Termination of the NYSC is the best way to protect the lives of Nigeria's new graduates. Alternatively, the NYSC can be made OPTIONAL, so that those who wish to risk their lives with kidnappers can attend NYSC |
victoryenergy:He certainly did waste a lot of food and oxygen, not to talk of the salaries paid to those who kept him under guard. |
Reference:No be small ting. The US military should seriously consider removing all virgin hunters from their ranks, and keeping them under surveillance for life thereafter, with a view to instantly deporting to Afghanistan any of them who express sentiments online which betray them as patrons of Alan's Snack Bar. |
kafeii123:Only the virgin hunters among this rogues gallery that you have listed, should face the firing squad BECAUSE they are the only ones who would be qualified to enjoy the services of 72 virgins at the moment of death. The others could merely be sent to jail for life. |
Ajsmart:I disagree with this viewpoint because for the first time ever, the US government is going to allow the entire world to witness the actual process by which virgin hunters gratefully receive their allocation of 72 that is their entitlement at the instant of martyrdom. For eager live-stream viewers like me who have never even seen a single virgin in our entire lives, the prospect of witnessing a lucky virgin hunter ascending to paradise surrounded by 72 of them is a dream fulfilled. Please kindly refrain from casting aspersions on this delightful and exciting spectacle that the US government has promised the world. If you happen to be lucky enough to have encountered real life virgins in the course of your own carnal adventures, then I appeal to you that you kindly refrain from depriving those of us who are not so lucky, from vicariously enjoying the upcoming event that will be attended by a grand total of 72 in number. See you at Alan's Snack Bar, where all drinks will be on the house when that blessed day finally arrives. |
I eagerly look forward to watching this virgin hunter sent to collect his allocation of 72 in hell. This is an exciting development that one can only hope will be emulated by Nigeria's judiciary. Now, for patrons of Alan's Snack Bar in da house, I would like to seek some clarification as to whether we will see the 72 virgins taking away the lucky virgin hunter after he has been blown apart by the firing squad, or whether that highly anticipated reward process be kept out of public view, in which case the bullet-riddled cadaver will be dumped unceremoniously into a cheap wooden casket? Enquiring minds DEMAND to know. . |
nairalanda1:Even if the statistical odds don't favor the tragic outcome of winding up as a kidnapped victim who could be tortured or killed in the forest, new graduates should, as free citizens of a democratic country, be granted the prerogative to evaluate those risks as adults, before deciding whether to roll the dice and confront those perils, or to simply embark on their lucrative careers in any place of their choosing worldwide. With Nigerian Computer Science graduates now highly sought in the UK, this freedom to choose one's destiny is essential, and should be granted for new graduates immediately. It is encouraging to see you readily acknowledge that the NYSC has outlived its usefulness and should now be consigned to the sewage conduit of history, especially now that Nigeria is under siege by Islamist slave-raiding kidnapper gangs, but all the same, to appease those who still doggedly support the NYSC concept, making NYSC service voluntary would be an equitable compromise that falls short of an outright termination which such a worthless program truly merits. |
nairalanda1:This opinion reads like an underhanded endorsement of the notion that it is acceptable for newly graduated Nigerians to be kidnapped for ransom because those who miraculously escape capture might be shouldered with the responsibility of providing medical care to villagers in remote, kidnapper infested areas of Nigeria. With this entertaining suggestion in mind, a viable compromise would be to make NYSC service voluntary, whereby new graduates can decide for themselves whether they would be willing to risk torture, starvation and death at the hands of bloodthirsty Islamist slave raiders, in order to become the primary medical care givers to villagers in remote areas of the country. Terminate the NYSC entirely, or make it VOLUNTARY for all. |
Dalohad:I will venture a bet that the kidnappers are the usual suspects, namely Islamist slave raiders from the Sahel. |
emirate9:This long dissertation you have painstakingly composed only suggests that you might be one of the opportunists who reap financial rewards from the NYSC program without caring at all that Nigeria is currently facing a terrorist invasion that specifically targets schools and students, and in which ALL highways face extreme risk of deadly ambushes by Islamist slave-raiding terrorist gangs. The NYSC must be terminated as soon as possible and consigned to the septic tank of history. The few beneficiaries of that enslavement program will just have to look for alternate means of feeding their families, such as armed robbery or internet fraud. |
Reference:You have forgotten that kidnappers generally remove and steal the shoes of their captives, so that they will not get far if they try to escape. The true solution is to forever terminate the NYSC program because it was NEVER beneficial to anyone in the past, other than the officials who bill graduates excessively while endangering their lives in those filthy NYSC concentration camps. |
Blunt99:Sadly the scenario you suspect might again be the case this time around. Once ransom is paid, the cycle WILL be repeated very soon, because it has proved to be profitable and risk-free. |
To prevent more kidnapping attacks specifically targeting NYSC members, the simple solution is for the NYSC to be terminated right away, so that no more of Nigeria's recent graduates will EVER face the terror and torture of being abducted by sadistic and evil Islamist slave-raiding gangs that are operating with a free hand ALL OVER the Nigerian federation. Even before kidnapping for ransom became Nigeria's primary growth industry, countless new graduates that were conscripted into squalid NYSC camps lost their lives to armed robbers that laid ambush on highways, or directly attacked their encampments, not to mention those who died from ingesting filthy water and contaminated food in those camps. The NYSC program outlived its usefulness DECADES ago, and has all along been a conduit for corrupt enrichment by greedy government officials who profiteer from the extortion and deliberate endangerment of new graduates, who are arguably any nation's most valuable human resource. Terminate the NYSC program TODAY, and set Nigeria's new graduates FREE to embark on their chosen careers IMMEDIATLY they complete the requirements to obtain their college diplomas. Nigeria is in the throes of a war on terror, with no end in sight, therefore this is NOT the time to be sending busloads of her prized new graduates out on dangerous kidnapper infested highways. |
The NYSC is of ZERO value to Nigeria even in the best of times, but now it presents a clear and present danger to new graduates who are forced to take perilous road trips all over the country during this time of war against terror. Dismantle and discontinue forever the NYSC program, because it only benefits greedy and callous government officials who profit from the program and its endless diabolical ways of billing and extorting the families of recent graduates. Terminate the NYSC immediately. It is the height of reckless irresponsibility to place the lives of Nigeria's university graduates at risk purely to enrich a few evil government officials. |
Chinese miners love poisoning the water that Africans rely on for drinking. It gives the Chinese great delight to know they are committing genocide against Africans because the end game of the Chinese is to kill off ALL Africans so as to claim their land as a part of "Greater China". |
Multiple CCTV cameras overlook all ATM machines near or within bank premises, so the man who found that money would have been prosecuted and jailed for theft if he had taken and kept that cash. The best he could have done was to have remained honest, in the hopes of getting a reward for that honesty. |
kpankpangolo:Indeed. It is always gratifying to see a law-breaking attention seeker slam dunked into jail where they have no means to boast and bluster online. I was delighted to note the absolute uninterrupted silence that ensued once terrorist leader Nnamdi Kanu commenced his well deserved life sentence behind bars, and I will be equally elated to experience the complete silencing of Andrew Tate when he too is confined deep in the pokey where the sun never shines, and where his only opportunities to share carnal knowledge will be with fellow male inmates. All is well that ends well. |
Every single military formation MUST be equipped with several drones whose handling must be taught to multiple operators. Those drones must be flown in turns, so that when one lands to recharge batteries, the others will be aloft, keeping an eye on the surrounding area so that this kind of surprise attack cannot be launched by terrorrists. The military high command must expedite the acquisition of these drones as a matter of extreme urgency, to preempt repeat occurrences of this guerrilla tactic attack. Even before the drones are delivered, their operators can begin training NOW, using laptops and commercially available training packages which can be bought used for just $100 USD with the controller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/278099077267?_skw=Real+Flight+7.5&itmmeta=01M4908N6VRYN3G828N8E12853&hash=item40bfff2893:g:XUcAAeSwSRNqMvVO&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA0GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xA5KPg5TsoQ5NwnD1gVsKklmJ9I9fciNI7P91l5%2F0LXaSSQyzbY1ExXG9m%2Bol%2FEuzKILurYY6FwXeH2Sxj8XQBoy9j7x4UC2lgY%2FMHt01Xryt3mTpzaf5brT4dyH3YgrWzTngvO9mmGFuh8cGXl0xNoEVP5nVb0%2B4qifwHli664CHo7k9PjscqN0E5MLwAVuuxfG0uYSh4W9bvQkdTXxNtMDs3F0omBkMMlz2axM0oEJ5uwXBAhh5oJBs3aLkuV6Pk%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR87ToqCiaA Every platoon of the Nigerian army must have at least TEN highly trained drone operators, so that there will always be someone who can conduct aerial reconnaissance even in the event that casualties are sustained. The power needed to charge drone batteries and the controller batteries can be derived in remote outposts with SOLAR panels.\ For goodness sake, PLEASE do this NOW.

Eba50:ATR na aeroplane and not helicopter |
FSBoperator:The OP should be traced and investigated by the DSS, because his writing shows he is capable of murder and kidnapping, and is possibly holding captives right now. |
The NYSC has now become Satan's gift to Islamist slave-raiding terrorists, THEREFORE it is high time the NYSC is flushed away into the septic tank of history where it belongs. It is truly demonic to keep exposing Nigeria's new graduates to the dangers of highway ambush and kidnapping by bloodthirsty Islamist slave raiders, all unde3r the infernal name of serving the NYSC. Any government official who still supports this horrible NYSC program must surely be a clandestine financier and beneficiary of Islamist terrorists who specifically prey on Nigeria's most precious intellectual resource, namely her newly graduated citizens. Suspend indefinitely or CANCEL outright this terrible human resource waster called the NYSC. It serves NO useful function in a country that is in a state of war and fighting off daily terorist attacks and abductions. END the NYSC TODAY !!! |
Somebody should please verify that the usual allocation of 72 is ready for this man on arrival in hell. |
goody234:Thank you so much for your fascinating opinion that is now noted for the record. Have a fabulous day sir. . |
