so you drive an old 2015 car
.. So driving a 2017 car is old... Be it luxury or not but you drove an 8yr old car

I pity you

Why his post come dey pain you in particular like this? Pretty much everyone on this thread is in the same boat, only question is how ancient.

You should save your pity for the ones driving 2005 Mercedes models but who spend all their time making their ancient vehicles seem like the spanking new EQS.

Polio in where Nigeria was declared polio free country in 2014.

You should stick to your political noisemaking and leave serious matters to serious people. "Polio Free" doesn't necessarily mean free from any polio cases.

The endemicity may be lower than it used to be, but Polio is still very much a problem in Nigeria.

Car Talk / Re: This Is What Happens When You Buy A Car To Impress The Society by JamesbaIIy: 2:53pm On Apr 04, 2022

While there is nothing wrong in buying and owning a car, cars are meant to serve so purpose not just to impress the society......

If you look around major Mechanic workshops you will see many parked vehicles of different varieties with so left for so long due to inability to afford the maintenance costs......no winder, the scrap dealers are cashing out from there

See how a whole Range Rover is humiliated in my neighbourhood'.

good rides de for real bros,so unfortunate a lot of Nigerians were brainwashed to think that only Toyota makes good cars.

Even on your deathbed, when you're saying your final words, Toyota would still be on your mind.

For a self acclaimed Honda fanatic, you sure spend a lot of time posting about Toyota.

No let Hypertension kill you on top Toyota matter bros. It's not that serious

As the Igbos say, Biri, Kam biri.
Car Talk / Re: As A First Time Car Owner, Toyota Corolla 2010 Or Honda Civic 2011? by JamesbaIIy: 8:08pm On Apr 02, 2022

I’m considering getting either a Corolla 2010 or Honda Civic 2011 putting into consideration it might be used for Uber and bolt , i need an advise on making the best decision please

Contrary to the obviously biased opinions of the vulgar nonce above, the 2010 Corolla is not particularly at risk of theft, compared to the earlier Corolla generation.

The 2010 Corolla and the 2011 Civic are simply two sides of the same coin, similar reliability, similar fuel economy. The US spec Civic would be preferable to the Euro Civic that some banks issue their staff.

It essentially comes down to your personal choices and preferences.

Car Talk / Re: How Much Do You Think It'd Cost To Fix This by JamesbaIIy: 9:19am On Apr 02, 2022
kowalsky:

Haha. I had no idea he was talking Naira grin

The headlights on that thing cost 1.8 million Naira apiece. Lol. And both were scuffed.

The cruise control sensor, that black panel below the grille, goes for 3.7 million Naira. Lol

They didn't actually write this particular car off. it was fixed.

Interesting that it wasn't a total loss, considering this estimate was commissioned by progressive insurance and the repair cost: vehicle market value appears to meet California's ratio for salvage titles.

lol shift goal post cheesy. From my very first comment I mentioned ‘sometimes’ they could help meaning not all the time. Second comment I still mentioned if at all they couldn’t help it’s not anybody fault it just how Nigeria is. Thirdly It was obvious I was talking about theft not damage from handling as I still mentioned a car of mine to have been damaged from handling parts were just not stolen . So I don’t even know why you are getting yourself worked up over a normal conversation. Shalom boss wink

Lol, that is normal vaIarinz, he thrives on inserting himself into situations like this, for maximum attention, followed by snide and condescending comments. Best way to make him go away is to ignore him completely.

Take a look at all the comments he's made so far on this thread. No single helpful post, all sarcasm and irrelevant nonsense.

Oh wow, very close.

Was surprised cos I had no idea itd cost that much to fix what looks like a minor damage.

Actual cost was 31k. That's brand new 2020 Accord money right there.

Lol, joke's on you. He actually meant 25k Naira.

Meanwhile that's an issue with these newer vehicles with all their tech and mixed materials and sensors, and that's why a salvage title would probably be next.

Naija repair no go reach even a fifth of that estimate, bulk of which would be importing the parts since it's a new vehicle.

This OP is one of the people that tribalism has damaged their brains. He eats, sleeps and drinks tribalism. It's always amusing to watch him and read his posts, just like watching a toddler playing with footballs, no sense of direction or evidence of intelligence.

Car Talk / Re: Can Peugeot AC Compressor Work With Toyota? by JamesbaIIy: 1:47pm On Feb 19, 2022
Elsueno:
shocked

To think same compressor is working without vibrations or any issues on even the smallest Peugeot engine ehn....... Peugeot no be mate with Japonica, vehicle is ahead of its time

Sometimes I come across posts which reveal just how shallow and ignorant people are.

Peugeot compressors work fine in Peugeot engines which they were designed for.

Kazeem would take a Peugeot compressor and "work" it to fit into a Toyota engine which it wasn't designed for. This "construction" usually involves using all sorts of weird bolts and nuts and other materials just to fit the compressor in. Inevitably leading to vibration and other issues.

Then one ignoramus on nairaland would seize that and point to it as an example of how "Peugeot no be mate with Japonica"

Scientists recently transplanted pig kidneys and hearts to humans, and have been using pig heart valves in humans for some time. Those parts work wonderfully in pigs, which were designed to use them. However they don't always work fine in humans.

Pig no be mate with human. Pig better pass human.

Politics / Re: The SouthEast Destiny Movement For Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2023 by JamesbaIIy: 5:55pm On Jan 06, 2022
The truth of the matter is that Tinubu is not worthy of the presidency. The man needs to retire or go do something else.

How long are we going to keep dealing with these geriatric selfish men with no vision who have nothing novel to offer Nigeria

We need a South Eastern president, better still, someone young and unsullied by the corrupt enterprise that is Nigeria.
