Career › Re: Should I Quit My 30k Job Or Continue And Hope For A Better Days by jamislaw(m): 11:53am On Jan 03, 2024 |
aysnoopy: Despite my writing limitations, I hope you'll overlook any errors and focus on my message. I completed my civil engineering studies and finished my service year in November 2016. I'm based in Ibadan.
In February 2018, I secured a connection with the zonal director of a federal government agency, leading to a casual staff position with a monthly stipend of 20k. The initial plan was to gain an advantage for future employment opportunities. By around 2020, the salary increased to 30k.
After three years with the agency, I learned about an upcoming recruitment in 2021. Despite seeking assistance from my boss, the zonal director, she didn't provide the support promised. Although I continued working and searching for other jobs, success eluded me.
In November 2022, my boss retired, and the new zonal director pledged support for my education, leading to my admission into a HND to B.Eng conversion program at KWASU. The sponsorship continued under another new director, but my concern persists due to the stagnant 30k salary, supplemented irregularly with site visit stipends.
Now faced with the decision to quit, I ponder whether to risk unemployment and search for a better opportunity or endure the current job's limitations, considering my advancing age. Despite ongoing self-improvement efforts and learning civil engineering software, I seek advice on whether to pursue a new job or maintain my current position during the B.Eng program. My brother you're engine boy you can still hustle by doing other jobs, you can still look for small contract to do with your experience don't wait for anyone. Open your own firm register it with CAC and start hustling, do you think those people will give you permanent job? I had the same experience with yours but my salary is 60k, with the experience I had with the company I registered my own company and today I make not less than 200k per month mind you I stay in north, my 2 rooms house rent is 50k per annum at least is still ok. Less you forget I'm still working with the other company that pays me 60k per month. Baba hustle and stop limiting your potentials. |

APC Produces Two Governorship Candidates In Kogi State.
The All Progressieve Congress (APC) has produced two governorship candidates in the party’s primaries that held across the wards in Kogi State on Friday being 14th April 2023.
According to the result made available to the media, Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka has scored 356,241 votes to defeat his closet Rival, one Jimoh Ododo who scored 74,027 votes.
However, drama started when the committee that conducted the election was induced and forced by the Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to announce his annointed candidate, Jimoh Ododo, as the winner of the said election.
Speaking to the media, a close supporter of Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka, he said, ” our Candidate has emerged as the winner and there is nothing Bello can do about it.
From the result in 14 Local Government Areas out of 21, it showed clearly that Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka is the choice of the people.
It may interest the general public to know that Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka against all odds won in the following 14 LGAs: Idah, Ibaji, Bassa, Dekina, Igala-Mela, Ofu, Olamaboro, Ankpa, Ajaokuta, Kabba Bunu, Lokoja, Koton Karfe, Ogori Magogo and Yagba West”
The added, ” Governor Yahaya Bello who inherited late Prince Abubakar Audu’s vote under APC cannot continue to force his will on the good people of Kogi State”.
He said, “as it is now, Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka is the authentic candidate of the APC as the will of Bello cannot over ride five million Kogites”.
He however, thanked Kogites for voting Alhaji Muri Mutala Ajaka saying, it is a new dawn in Kogi State as he will not let them down. |

Mtcchew!! Regional candidate the same thing to obi, obi should come to Yobe state here and campaign. That is the reason NNPP are so happy Obi is on ballot to help them neutralize Atiku vote from south east and south south, there's no way kwankwaso can ever defeat Atiku in south east and south south. Even Buhari had 5% from the whole south east. |

It turned out to be in our favor as he scatters Atikus vote in the north .
If you expect me to talk about him scattering the druggies illusional vote in the north then you are dreaming Kwankwaso is more grateful to Obi for denying Atiku his strong hold south east and south south, Buhari won the election with 5% from south east. |
