sophsia62: The Senate Committee on Petroleum Upstream has requested that the Department of Petroleum Resources submit a comprehensive list of workers recently employed by the agency.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Tayo Alasoadura made this known when the agency appeared before it for budget defence.
The committee asked the agency to provide names of those recruited, their states of origin and other details, to enable it to determine if the process met Federal Character requirements or not.
It further sought to know why the agency’s overhead cost went down by 50 per cent in the 2019 budget.
The committee also requested for an explicit and detailed presentation of the agency’s Internally Generated Revenue and how it is being utilised, as the figures are not contained in the budget proposal.
Responding, DPR Director, Mr Mordecai Ladan assured the committee that all requested documents would be made available.
He added that there is nothing to worry about, as the federal character provision and other criteria were used in the recruitment process.
While confirming that the agency recruited over 500 workers, he said necessary procedures were followed in the recruitment.
“When we wanted to recruit, we informed all relevant committees in the National Assembly.
“Advertisements came out in November 2018, although there were things that needed to be sorted out and that made the process to last for six months and over 700, 000 people applied.
“The interview was conducted after one year. Meanwhile, the Federal Character Commission was involved in the process and every state was taken care of in the recruitment, catchment areas were also used,” he said.
On why the overhead cost for 2019 budget was reduced by 50 per cent, the director said it was based on request from the Budget Office.
“The budget office asked us to reduce the expenditure,” he said.
Ladan noted that the agency had a total budget of N39.33 billion, with N681 million as capital expenditure, N592.90 million overhead cost and N38.06 billion as personnel cost.

FG approves N1.4 billion for DPR headquarters design in Abuja... It will be relocated from Lagos. That news that DPR and PPPRA will be merged has been faulted here. Thats why i believe info from Marvel and Xtruz more than any other here... Marvel68: There’s nothing inconsistent about my post. Refer to my previous posts. If you recall, I told you all that the merit list was reviewed by the top management committee in the last week of January, 2019. Only few were selected from the merit list. Some didn’t believe me at that time. People are just getting this info. The only information provided that has failed is the contact dates for APL pick up. Don’t blame me for this. |

Let me use this opportunity to congratulate all those who have secured the DPR appointment since last year and in recent times Permit me to also congratulate in advance all those who will soon secure the appointment... I also want to be very optimistic by also congratulating myself in advance as one of those who will secure the appointment as it absolutely cost nothing to be optimistic while pessimism comes with alot of dejection depression and rejection. Congratulations again to all in advance Xtruzz: 1. The people that where called recently were few in packet.
2. The appointment processes are still on going.
3. More GT & EH will still be called.
4. Be patient!, Keep praying & vote your congratulatory message across the successful applicants.

Now that they have all chased marvel away can they provide us with their own so called "authentic information"? BrockSamson: For your information, nobody is forcing “Marvel” to do anything. He is acting his own script, of his own volition he said this and didn’t do it, thats free will.
If his “kind of information” (that hasn’t gotten merit people anywhere till date) is critical to your sustenance, have you tried sending him a PM? (Its just a thought) |

There is a second batch indeed! and there are those who have the information on the time they will be called. Yes there are those who know. Ebonybiuty: He isn't informed. There is a second batch and contacting them is actually dependent on the outcome of the election because Buhari has plans for DPR in this second term. The exact time the second batch candidates will be called is unknown to anyone, it is actually top secret. The more reason why I personally don't buy the idea of the speculations; let's allow DPR do their thing.
DPR management, especially Shakur are not totally insensible. During the recruitment, they took note of some candidates who scored very high marks on merit and will be utilized for the plan Buhari has for DPR (which I mentioned earlier). They know most stakeholders' candidates don't deserve the job and will not be efficient and effective.
My advice: Get busy with your life as if DPR does not exist, let them call when they deem fit and stop waiting for speculations. NO ONE, I repeat, NO ONE knows when we will be contacted, not even the staff in Corporate service. |

D. I got a feed back 21|02|2019 that calling will take place after the election
E. Some South African deligates from the Department of Minaral Resources where at the head office today so i couldn't get the exact date of APLs distribution but it may be close as portal have been updated.
