Please I need enlightenment? What would the protest be based on?

If i had applied and was called for all stages of screening does that automatically make me qualified for the list?

I am fully in support of whatever it is that will put things right and make the ordinary man who is qualified get what is due.

But how do i substantiate that isn't the case...

How do i even prove that the first and the "so called" second list is not fair merited and equitable

Do I rely on the rumours on nairaland as evidence?

I would really appreciate the protest but am really confused here as to what basis to use in justifying my actions...

Am confused

Please help...

Laffs with over $100/barrel of crude oil sale and 2.1 million barrels sold per day for 5 consecutive years all GEJ could boast of was almajiri schools? grin grin grin

Oh! You mean in dpr there are no other tribes except northerners or that this recruitment only favours northerners?

You mean FCC approval is just for fun? Or you think it is only northerners that are in FCC or that it is only northern elites that get slots for FG jobs...

grin grin grin

Now i see the degree of awareness of the fellow in question.

I promise not to dignify any of your comment with a reply anymore...

Meanwhile I am not a northerner if you may wish to know however I am also not an educated illiterate

dprsauce:
This is rubbish. You are deviating, painting your man as a saving grace, as if GEJ did not make an aggressive construction of schools for your people which they rejected cos your political elite ordered them to reject education. Now we can see the results of the Haram. But these are not the issue. The issue is how your people want all slot for themselves

What truth is being supressed?

That OBJ couldn't fix lagos ota Abeokuta express way in his eight year tenure as president or GEJ couldn't provide portable water to othuoke people let alone ss region or that it took PMB a Northerner to give othuoke portable water and start the fixing of Lagos abeoukuta experessway...

Is that the truth being suoressed?

dprsauce:
The time when facts are spilled and quickly sugar coated with the term 'tribalistic or tribal sentiment' has past. In those sad times, these are done to kill the lone voice of truth in the wilderness and the irregularities and abnormalities continues unabated. You should know better that people are better informed now than ever, especially now, the social media Era where the north currently are unable to suppress the glaring truth and has helplessly turn to military force on media and social media lites. Funny enough, the truth must consume this country, for a corrupt country can never be built up unless, it's worm invested body has been crushed down.

For this kind Nigeria them go carry slot of 8.3 Milla pay give person wey them no know called merit? Hehe. The issue on ground is not about merit or no merit, but about a particular section of the country trying to take almost all slot claiming that the slot sef is not enough to go round their cabal, not to talk of giving other section, una they here they hope and pray. If you guys are allowed to sit on the table with the cabals for just 30mins,you'll cry for this country.
What do i expect from "dpr" sauce again if not the tribal card...

even when the SS was in govt. and yet the region was the worst in poverty penury infrastructure and human capital dev. the blame is still put on another section of the country...

Even in our 20 years of recent democracy where the south had 14 years with absolutely nothing go show as profit and gains and the north just 6 years, a particular section of the country is still blamed...

I am not as foolish as being fed with junks i am not an educated illiterate...

The southerners

We are still very much aloof

bro, for me it is. Both from a career point of view and welfare, there is no comparison. Abi why would anyone leave middle management role in a PLC to accept entry level role in DPR..no be demotion be that? From the way pple dey covet the job, i get what you mean. I once saw someone post here that he would leave a full scholarship abroad to join DPR. Why the hell would I do that? How much be the welfare? The letter was shared here na.. even with all the allowances e fit rish 5 million p.a? I no fit accept entry level position wen i am positioning myself for top management roles. It would scarify my resume. I am speaking for myself, not anyone else.

PS: I have info (tho not top notch) that the pay including all allowances no rish 3million p.a after deductions. Anything asides that could be categorized as proceeds of sharp practices, and not standard emoluments perse. Correct me if this assertion is wrong, but hey even access bank entry level takes home more than that now, and heaven no fall, pple still dey enter on merit, no noise, no palaver. So what gives?
Oga i get your point concerning the level of your career presently...

However, I repeat... you need more info on the welfare package...

Forget sharp practices am talking about legitimate pay... Not even talking about monthly pay and allowances now oga choi...

Why do you think the elites even with their comfort would not let go of it....

could have worked if ACTION was taken before 2019. In the walk-up to elections, bold moves like that rarely go unnoticed by the govt of the day. But now there is no cheap political point to score. A protest one year after others resumed is dead on arrival in my opinion. I sha hope many here see the many learning points in this experience... altho i wouldn't hold my breath sha

ps: forming hopeful when you know and can see that contacts are what can secure you this job, is also a good example of naivety and being unrealistic.
You misconceived the concept "hopeful" here means am one of those who haven't gotten APL meanwhile the actual naivity is thinking every hopeful is actually 100% reliant on DPR job...
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by Jan9(m): 2:19pm On Jun 12, 2019
Guys still don't understand proceedings of things in this country. Even if the proposed protest was staged it would have amounted to absolute nothing...

The previous recruitment where protest worked was because no single application letter was released *not because those who merited it didn't get their letter* as assumed by people here.

But in this case application letters have been released and people have been recruited. The list met the FCC guide lines and also DPR proceedural guide lines so to say

So what will the protest have been about.

Who has evidence that he is a merit and wasn't picked
Who else also has evidence that his state qouta was insufficient
Who else has evidence that he did better in the test and exams than those picked for the recruitment

Guys I pray we all reach the pinnacle of our career then we will all understand what works and how it works.

Moreover most of us clamouring for protest or whatever are not different from those we accuse of favouritism, had i been selected or you been selected would any of us still be visiting this thread let alone fighting for the supposed right of if others?

We are all screaming for selfish reasons under the disguise of promoting "what is right"

So i get pissed when I see people demonize those who used "what they have to get what they want " just because they lack such privileges.

Truth be told if me and you have one or two links we would also have put it into use too rather come here to form one fake comrade...

Please stop painting those who had the links black just because you don't have.

Please let us also stop this naivity and be realistic for once...

Xtruz said it almost 8 months ago... Make contacts rather than noise! That is exactly what works in Nigeria contacts...

But peeps! Prefer to make noise!

Didn't DPR head submit a list to NASS so what would your protest amount to?

Thank God am also an hopeful else some would have labelled me an SH for stating these realistic glaring factual facts

I wish all of us all the best

I remember Marvel68 came to this thread or trend (whatever it is) and swore that if second batch wasn't called before the end of January (or there about) that he would never comment here. But he is still here because he thrives on the gullibility and anxiety of the people here. What he does these days is to wait for someone to drop a, perhaps, fake news, and for clout, he echoes what the person says. For example, someone will say something like 'I heard two people started work last week', classic Marvel will come with 'Yes, text messages and emails were sent. The two were stakeholder candidates.' This has happened on innumerable occasions and if you cant still see through the BS, then it'll be hard for you to decipher anything in this life.

Another person came and gave a timeline (Mon-Fri) and if nobody was called, he/she will upload a list. Friday passed and despite the calls of some folks here urging the said person to upload whatever list he/she had, the person didn't but still comes here to thrive on you guys gullibility. Wake up and smell the coffee.
I think all those who are on the side of "moving on" "no second list" "recruitment is over" are even much more hopeful than those of us who are on the positive side,

If you critically analyse their frequency and insistence on the thread you will discover that they come in alot of times with a siccessive stronger emphasis of their negative submissions (hoping to get a counter response) that will convince them much more that there is still hope.

If truely they are sincere with their "mindsets" as proclaimed all the while I see no reason why they keep coming back more frequently and more emphatic with their tales of "despair"

They would even had logged out of the thread long ago Alas! they themselves are still very much hopefully hopeful thus putting out here counter information so as to get something tangible to keep their hopes alive...

We are all hopefu you can keep deceiving yourselves like you have moved on yet tagging along everyday to know whats up...

E dey for una body!

In actual fact the personnel cost for dpr in 2018 is N31 billion while for 2019 is N38 billion that is well over 20% increase
Marvel68:
The 2018 appropriation bill was passed by NASS on May 16, 2018 & signed into law by PMB on June 20th, 2018 & the APLs was officially dispatched in the second week of July, 2018.

The personnel cost increased by 18.8% in the 2019 DPR budget. A clear indication that the DPR made provision for the second batch.

The DPR will call the rest at their own discretion. They may decide to call after the 2019 budget is passed & signed into law or before then.

They don’t need to inform the Senate committee about the second batch. The master list will be presented to them for review.

From what Modacai Ladan said today at the senate that over 500 staff members were recently employed this information is correct
Marvel68:
Breakdown of 2016 DPR Recruitment!!!

Total staff employed (Master List) = 600
Merit candidates (200)
SH candidates (400)

Master list (Batch A & B)
- Batch A ( 300+)
- Batch B (200 +) in progress...

Congrats in advance!!
PoliticsRe: Senate Demands Comprehensive List Of Recruited Staff From DPR by Jan9(m): 3:48pm On Mar 28, 2019
Maybe this will make dpr hasten the release of the remaining APL
sophsia62:
The Senate Committee on Petroleum Upstream has requested that the Department of Petroleum Resources submit a comprehensive list of workers recently employed by the agency.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Tayo Alasoadura made this known when the agency appeared before it for budget defence.

The committee asked the agency to provide names of those recruited, their states of origin and other details, to enable it to determine if the process met Federal Character requirements or not.

It further sought to know why the agency’s overhead cost went down by 50 per cent in the 2019 budget.

The committee also requested for an explicit and detailed presentation of the agency’s Internally Generated Revenue and how it is being utilised, as the figures are not contained in the budget proposal.

Responding, DPR Director, Mr Mordecai Ladan assured the committee that all requested documents would be made available.

He added that there is nothing to worry about, as the federal character provision and other criteria were used in the recruitment process.

While confirming that the agency recruited over 500 workers, he said necessary procedures were followed in the recruitment.

“When we wanted to recruit, we informed all relevant committees in the National Assembly.

“Advertisements came out in November 2018, although there were things that needed to be sorted out and that made the process to last for six months and over 700, 000 people applied.

“The interview was conducted after one year. Meanwhile, the Federal Character Commission was involved in the process and every state was taken care of in the recruitment, catchment areas were also used,” he said.

On why the overhead cost for 2019 budget was reduced by 50 per cent, the director said it was based on request from the Budget Office.

“The budget office asked us to reduce the expenditure,” he said.

Ladan noted that the agency had a total budget of N39.33 billion, with N681 million as capital expenditure, N592.90 million overhead cost and N38.06 billion as personnel cost.
