I read a book few days ago written by a self-acclaimed 'Jesus Feminist'.

When it got to this particular passage for her to explain, she suddenly remembered that the Bible was written thousands of years ago and therefore this particular passage has no place in our society today..

It's really hilarious, cause I don't know any woman who would be comfortable with that particular passage except of course the irredeemable religious women!.

The book itself was about her being a 'Jesus Feminist'. I struggled to finish the book and ended up giving it 1 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.

There were other misogynistic passages she tried to explain but she did that from the point of view of theologians who believe the bible must have been misinterpreted while being translated into English.

This is a classic example of how religious people find some passages in the bible problematic and then try to explain the passage in such a way that it suits them often deviating from the original problematic meaning....

They often say it's been misinterpreted. It's only misinterpreted if it's problematic, lol .

This boils down to a "heart" issue...a lack of true, Godly conversion. We are, unfortunately, getting it wrong...and need to backtrack, humble ourselves, repent and renew our mind-sets.

Nigerian religious women don't give their daughters that choice, that is the difference. Look at the case of the Saudi girl even though she's not Nigerian. She wasn't given the chance to be a non-muslim so she fled her country..

Whether it was before the First Advent or after, Salvation has always happened by Faith in God's Substitute. That is, those who were saved before the First Advent were those who believed in a Promised Savior. Those who believed after were those who believed in the Savior Who had now come and paid the price for our sins.

Salvation is only by Faith in God's Substitute.

But people will only believe if they hear.

Well, every single human being is born with an awareness of sin, of judgment and of God. Those who take it seriously go looking for answers to the human condition, that is, the condition of being sinful and in danger of eternal condemnation from a Righteous and Just God.

Those who seek ALWAYS find.

This is why we have an Ethiopian in the Bible who was a believer even though he had to go all the way to Jerusalem to worship.

Everyone who goes to Hell is someone who did not want to be saved. They either dismissed the idea that they needed to be or they made up their own idea of salvation.

But throughout all human generations, every single person who has desired to be saved, no matter where they were or what color their skin, was saved.

I've always wondered that too.

Why did it take slavery and colonisation to introduce christainity to Africans and tag it 'the true religion'. It's 't he true religion' cause it was practiced by white people aka colonisers aka slave masters . I mean the bible justify slavery so....

I was arguing with a religious the other day and she said that the god our ancestors worshipped then is the same christain god worshipped by Christains and that the christain religion is better .

It's also ironic when religious people claim that something isn't African or that it's not in our culture. Well, same with the christain religion you are practicing.
