Christianity Etc › Re: Nigeria Can't Move Forward If U Don't Go Back To Our Forefather Dieties by janettee(f): 7:36pm On Feb 15, 2019 |
hahn: Do you mean the same gods that could not protect us from European slave traders while they beat, raped, bought and shipped our ancestors and resources back to their continent?
Even when the white man claimed their god was greater our gods could not fight for themselves.
Our constant need to believe in imaginary beings is what got us here in the first place. It is the cause of our gullibility, vulnerability and to a good extent our savagery because the black man's god always needs blood sacrifices and couldn't teach us to invent the wheel despite all the trees in Africa.
What we need is to dump the idea of worshipping imaginary beings and tribalism and instead unite look towards science as a solution to our problems.
The gods have failed us Top notch especially the first sentence!.. I don't know the gods they worshipped that couldn't protect them from slave trade. |

Just like others already posted, I don't think religion will ever be history. There might be a decline in those who practice religion but it can never be completely wiped out cause of the factors and other factors you mentioned above. |

Currently watching "Always a witch" on Netflix. I honestly don't know how I feel about the series. It got a lot of backlash cause of the storyline. |

This is the most pointless part of the so-called culture. Like why do this much to get married to your partner??.
"It's tradition". Culture does not make people, I'm sure someone woke up one day and made it into law. It could be scrapped that same way too. People make culture. |

NwanyiAwkaetiti: But if you check back, child marriage was part of our culture. Infact many a time a baby girl's marital fate is tied when she's born. Just pointing that out though You people keep screaming culture as if it's not man made . |

lovelygurl: Awwww
I want to thank SEUN for Nairaland, for it bringing me closer to Nigeria and Nigerians. I'm definitely sure I'm not the only, who feels like this because Nairaland has become "home" to many Nigerians in the diaspora.
Nairaland also gave me the opportunity to learn from a lot of people, who are very passionate about the same things as I am e.g cococandy and Tozara, who has also become a veeeery good friend of mine.
I met people, who are as crazy as I am e.g Atlantia (Yes, girl we are BOTH crazy. 1 is just worse than the other and that ain't me )
And finally, it gave me a bestie, who could have as well been my twin sister. I'm always surprised at how alike we are, how much we have in common when it comes to mentality and goals, janettee (I swear, I was even about to send you a clip of Dieter speaking English. He wanted to say I have goosebumps all over my body, but then said I have PIMPLES all over my body My chest ) Awww I want to cry. I love you girl ... Hahahaha, send the video babe... Must be funny with his German accent.. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Atheismus. by janettee(op): 11:25am On Feb 03, 2019 |
Danhumprey: If anyone had told me you're an atheist, I wouldn't have believed.
How come? How were you able to break off that mental chain and break free of religious indoctrinations? I can't recall who you are since you know my now deleted old account . To your question, it was easy. I just woke up one day and decided I'm an atheist. There's no guideline on how to break free from religious indoctrination, you just have to find your way and stick to it. |

Linkzy: Hi guys.
Please can one work 2jobs in Germany, let's say 1) one 450 and a full time job and still file for a tax return at the end of the year without any problem or
2) 2 450 jobs at the same time. Just a tip for others who want to combine two Jobs. Working two 450 euro jobs will get you taxed but there's a kind of Job called kurzfristig Beschäftigung(hope I don't get banned). Basically you are allowed to work for 3 months in a year. That's approximately 70 days in a year. You won't do the job everyday though. Now combining this job with a 450 euro job won't get you taxed according to the law!!. This kind of Job let you earn more than 450 euro. In Frankfurt you could earn up to 800 euros without getting taxed as a student, now imagine combining that with a 450 euro job without getting taxed...
