enm: To start i will like to start by introducing an interesting reading material and it free. This book help and open my eyes to a lot of things. Will provide the web address for it and also post the content here for those who won't be able to download.
It’s called “Passion Prayer of Jesus the Christ: The 7 Secrets Revealed.” It reveals “deep” secrets and advice on prayer that most Christians may never discover on their own… yet they are the foundation of getting amazing results through prayer, and becoming successful as fast as possible. No matter what you’re praying for. These principles work for ALL Christians whether they’ve been in the faith for years, or are just getting started.
Have a happy reading enm, have you abandoned this thread? |
Education › Re: Peer Pressure:My Own Taste And Opting Out. by Janeyinspires(op): 7:57pm On Aug 05, 2017 |
Janeyinspires: 'From trying to figure out who you are, what you believe, what you are good at,responsibilities and things that are expected of you:All these are enough to exert pressure on an individual.'
Teen years is tough. It's the toughest stage and development of human life-also the hallmark of adolescent experience.During teen years,Peer Pressure is prevalent. This is because;at this stage, one is yet to have a bearing on what life is,what is expected of them and even who they want to become.
What is peer? Peer is someone in your age, class, group. What is pressure? Pressure is the feeling that you are being pushed toward making a certain choice-good or bad. So Peer Pressure is simply, when someone in your age, class or group influences or pushes you into making certain choices whether good or bad. Everyone at one point have ended up in a peer pressure.
I had my own taste of Peer Pressure(negatively),when I was in form 2(jss 2).I was a 12 year old then:innocent, naive, trying to fit in and thinking about what to do with life.....Yea,you gerrit.
It was a school for girls(day & boarding),located at a rural area. I think this is evident in every school, where each set have a clique that is popular. So one day,a member of the popular clique in my set walked up to me,and ask that I join their clique. In a bid to belong, especially when the request is coming from a popular group,I joined! Even when I was oblivious to some of their activities.
That day,my journey of sneaking out of school during school hours began. (We were all day students...in d clique) I was introduced to what they do.....sneaking out to attend parties organised by boyfriends, going to school(sometimes) with party wears and when there was no party,we organized one by tasking ourselves. Ehe!They even dashed me a boyfriend too. No one in my family knew what I was up to in school, not even my elder sis who attends the same school with me.As far as they know,I'm still the quiet good girl. Deep down within me,I knew the path I was towing was detrimental and in disparity with my values....buh I just couldn't bring myself to resist or extricate out of that association.I wasn't just comfortable with the lifestyle,as young as I was then. This trend continued till my form 5(ss 2).
Luckily enough,my academics never suffered.I was making good grades,so nobody had anything to worry about.
One day,Intervention came;DIVINE. That was in form 5.My sister had joined a teen/youth fellowship and I had went along to fellowship with her that day.And there, the scales was removed from my eyes.I was brought back to consciousness to face reality of what's gonna happen if I continue that path.I knew I had to make a decision about who I want to be,my future, values,God and my academics....that it's time to take a stand,no matter what my clique think or the names they will call me(jew girl).Who cares!
I Did It.....I Opted Out!
Today, looking back at those yester'years, never believed I did such in school and at a young age too. That's just the power Peer Pressure can wield over someone.
Let Me State Here.......Peer Pressure is not necessarily a bad thing. We are all influenced by our peers both negatively and positively at one point.Just as people can influence others to make a negative choice, they can also influence them to make positive choice(I've had my share of both)
Positive influence can happen, when one is pressured by their peers towards positive behavours like in the area of academics;spuring someone to read and study because his/her clique does same OR leaving a neat life.
The negative influence can be on activities which are detrimental to one's wellbeing and sometimes society at large. They include:Taking drugs, cultism, sugar mum/dad,I remember,I no remember. It's endless.
No matter how powerful and hard to resist Peer Pressure is,the decision to act or not to act is up to you as an individual. When it comes to decision making, the choice is yours.................. |

If you want to know how much God loves you, what He's already accomplished for you through Jesus then go find Pastor Abel. |

Risingphoenix12: Wow. Quite a few. But i'll list a few. lol
- Someone that could make me happy. I just thought if I made her happy, it would be automatic. Unfortunately, it's not so and surprisingly I don't think I make her happy. - The spectrum between our mental processing inclinations. I'm like 70% nerd but she is like -70% nerd. lol. My thinking then was this would provide some balance for the kids. - Future goals/ aspirations are very different. We have both evolved into two different individuals and in divergent directions. - Family background. Different tribes. We were both raised by single parents. Hers got separated and mom remarried, my dad passed and mom never remarried. So it seems we both had ideals that weren't matched with reality. Interestingly, I connect more with her dad than her step-dad. - I'm pretty empathetic so maybe I was looking for someone to "rescue". That wasn't what she needed. I probably was carried away by my "ego" and misinterpretation of love and commitment. - My friends/ family members felt I was making a mistake but didn't talk to me about it - or maybe I didn't provide them with an opportunity to provide counsel. You call all this 'quite a few?' They are deep. You projected yourself as a "good samaritan." Someone who'll make her happy, fill in her inadequacies without taking your own happiness into consideration Marriage isn't a help institution. You apparently turned yours into one..Lemmi leave you with this:marriage is God's idea.Don't lose faith yet.Let God into your marriage. |

Family › Re: Cause Of Teenage Insecurities by Janeyinspires(f): 3:58pm On Jul 21, 2017 |
From my observations with my teen niece, one of the insecurities teens face stems from a lack of self-confidence.Something to do with accepting their body shape. Some of these teens have taken to idolizing some of their favorite teen star/artists. This always affects their self-esteem, as they see their favorite star having the best body shape To help such teen with this insecurity, we should have a pep-talk with the teen.Tell him/her the uniqueness and distinctiveness of every human, irrespective of their status or achievement.Of course, no one is perfect, in or out.Every one is unique in their own way. Embracing one's body shape will help them focus on becoming better as they discover themselves |

Loving your wife is not tough.Submitting to your husband is not tough.
It's hard to find a woman who will not submit to a husband that loves her. It's also hard to find a man who will not love a wife who submits to him.
Every spouse should play their own part to ensure a happy and peaceful home. |

NOT EVEN THE LENGTH OF YOUR POST CAN STOP THE GRACE !!! - by Janeyinspires

OP, YOU HAVE MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE BIBLE !! - by Tdayof
Satan has come DISGUISED AS A PASTOR THEN AS A SHAPE-SHIFTING DOG. He is chanting through a mega-phone/loudspeaker, RAPE IS NOT A SIN. THEREFORE THE VICTIMS OF RAPE ARE TO BLAME. BABIES AND YOUNG GIRLS HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME IF THEY ARE RAPED.
Pastor Bronchitis Oaroloye recharges the batteries and take a few hallucinogenic drugs before he continues; I CAN PROVE ALL THIS FROM MY EXTENSIVE TRAINING IN FICTIONAL NAGUALISM AND CELESTINE PROPHECY. He's a copy and paste joker. |

ScienceWatch: You are very optimistic Sir. That pastor Bronchitis Oaroloye will find GRACE is fading by the hour as evidence mount up that seems to prove that he has sold his heart to the devil.
He is teaching his recruits to Shape-Shift and use hallucinogenic drugs to enter into a fantasy world of spirituality.
He is serving his Oyinbo masters well by working extremely hard to destroy all evidence of the mighty HOLY SPIRIT WORKING in Nigeria and introduce Africans to SATANIC FICTIONAL fantasy. I am,ScienceWatch. The spirit has already moved.Just like Paul,He will turn to embrace Grace. Everything is centered on grace. |
