Turkiye’s foreign ministry has issued strong condemnation over drone strikes that hit Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave and urged for third countries not to become targets in the war. “We emphasise once again the need to stop attacks targeting third countries in the region and carrying the risk of spreading the war,” said Turkiye’s foreign ministry, following a call between its top diplomat, Hakan Fidan, and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov. As we reported earlier, Azerbaijan’s government said two drones from Iran landed in its territory of Nakhchivan, one hitting an airport building. Azerbajian’s President Aliyev vowed “retaliatory measures”. |

Hezbollah says missile strikes on Israeli forces near Markaba Hezbollah says it launched missile attacks on Israeli forces advancing near the southern Lebanese town of Markaba. In a statement, the group said its fighters targeted Israeli troops at about 12:30pm (10:30 GMT) after observing what it described as an Israeli force moving from the Manara site towards the town. IRGC claims to have shot down US fighter jet, US dismisses claim Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claim to have shot down a US F-15E strike fighter near the country’s southwest borders, the semiofficial Tasnim news agency is reporting. The US military has denied such reports. Tasnim, citing the IRGC, reported that the twin-seat fighter had been “targeted and crashed”, without specifying when the incident allegedly occurred.
