@newboe 715 yes he did, we couldn't wait any longer. Just wanted it asap.

@Portsmouth86 Yes we had a VAF number and this number is the same as the entry slip one. Good news for you soon I pray.

That is a scam he should have reported him after collecting his passport..

@Justwise and everyone

Im not sure if this makes any difference but on Facebook one person asked me..." Did you get a VAF reference in the email subject line" intrigued i checked and indeed yes I do have a reference number starting VAF123456 (6 numbers but not these) and the guy said, this number was the same on his visa when he got the passport and said he has asked those with a refusal and the decision made email did not contain a VAF reference in the email subject line.

I thought that maybe it was just the application ref but this starts with GWF which is also in the message of the email

Can anyone check their emails, this could give us an indication before we receive the passports back
I got my Visa and I got a VAF number with my decision made email .

Hi Guys,
I would like to thank everyone on here for all their help. I have not been able to sleep for a couple of days because I have been so nervous but I thank God it is all over and now I can be reunited with my wife. Here is my timeline

Application submitted: 14th of Jan
Application received email: 18th of Jan
Documents received at shiefield: 19th of Jan
Decision made email: 20th of Jan
Passport collected: 27th of Jan

I paid for priority and it was worth it. Best to work for an extra month, save the money for it and get everything processed within 2 weeks.

I wish everyone waiting for a decision all the best and I pray your application will be successful. God bless!

He is actually 33 years old. He has a limited leave to remain expecting to get is ILR in 2018 and the visa is a family member of EEA National - Employment and Business Allowed.

I hope you get the picture now. can he still get married?

I am not sure what the complete picture is but I can not see anything wrong in getting married. I think even with his limited leave to remain he can still bring his spouse to the UK. For example with a student visa, you are allowed to bring your spouse to the UK and they will be allowed to work and this is the same with a Tier 2 work permit as well. But obviously you will have to meet all the requirements in terms of financial e.t.c. Btw family member of a EEA national? Whats the relationship? I hope it is not spouse.

Personally, whoever told me that a copy of my marriage certificate was 40k. I'd make sure I got s name first, I would make no fuss and say thank you, then report them to a higher up (especially if the local government are responsible for running the place).

I don't think anyone is against finding out the actual price of a replacement certificate, but I'm not convinced that those guardians will be honest enough to tell you the real price. It wouldn't surprise me if you'll probably be quoted different prices from different registries.

Yes you are right, they add to the original cost. Like for a special marriage (marriage with a foreigner) they charged 60,000 but when I went back and looked through my file I saw a receipt of 25,000 Naira

Hello Guys.

I just want to ask a couple of questions, looking for a bit of assistance. I have applied for a UK spouse visa online and I have been given a date to submit the application and biometrics in ikeja. I would like to know the following:
1) is it true I still have to pay a fee at the ikeja office when I'm submitting my documents.
2) is my application handled in Nigeria or sent out to Sheffield.
3) Is my spouse in the UK required to summit any other additional documents. I read somewhere I'm only to submit the application form and my spouse is the one submitting the other documents from the UK to Sheffield.
4) I also heard there will be no need for interviews as decisions will be made out interviews.
5) can someone please tell me how long does the application process usually take
6) how quickly is the submission of documents done in ikeja or should I expect to spend the whole day there.

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, guess I'm nervous and want to know what to expect. Thanks.

Hi,
From your numerous questions I am guessing you have not done much research about the whole process. I hope you have gathered all the necessary evidence and documents as requested. I will advice you should read through this topic and get more information from our great experts on this visa. Back to your questions
1.) All fees will be paid online before attending your appointment unless you opt for the VIP service at TLS
2.) Spouse visa is handled in shiefield and not Nigeria. Your application form and biometrics will be sent to shiefield.
3.) Your spouse or you will have to post the additional documents to an address in shiefield. This will include employment details, bank statements, relationship evidence and many more.. please do some research and make sure you have all the necessary documents.
4.) Interviews will most likely be conducted so just prepare for it. Some people don't have interviews but best to be ready.
5.) The process can take up to 60 working days
6.) Everyone has an appointment time, shouldnt take more than 30 mins as it is the off peak period

This will be my 4th time coming to Nigeria, 2nd since we married and the Nigerian High commission have already seen our original certificate to give me my last visa when i came to Naija in October 2015.

I already made enquiries about the passport and I can only get a Nigerian passport if i am a Nigerian resident.

All I want is a certified copy of our marriage certificate, why is it so difficult, in the UK if I needed a copy of a birth/death/marriage certificate its just £10 to get a replacement yet in Lagos they want £120 odd just for an additional copy, that's daylight robbery, if its not the UK immigration making it difficult for us to see each other so is the Nigerian Immigration just makes me sick angry

Sorry to hear that, I know it is very ridiculous. As advised earlier the best thing to do, is to get a relative of his to write the invitation letter and attach a photocopy of their passport and you can go apply for the visit visa. Make sure to have a minimum of 500 pounds in your bank account when you print your statements and you are ready to apply.

My apologies that's not the fee for a visa but for a copy of our marriage certificate from Ikoyi registry office

Visa fee is nr double that sad

I am guessing you are planning to come to nigeria soon? Its just best to either get the multiple entry visa in the future. Does anyone know the process for getting a Nigerian passport for a spouse?

Ladies and gents

Does anyone know how much it is to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate from Ikoyi registry office?

Got hubby to go ask he's saying it's 40,000 naira... For a certificate really?? Here it's like 3,000 naira big difference and also apparently they need my passport data page and a passport pic

Sounds like a scam, I just wanted to get one as ours is with home office and need it to apply for my Nigerian spouse visa smiley

That is probably the price because Its a special marriage lol. It is ridiculous tbh! I think the best thing to do is instead of applying for a Nigerian Spouse Visa just apply for the normal visit visa and get one of his relatives to write the invitation letter.

Hi,
Please I am a bit confused about this question.
"Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?"

I have applied for a visit, student and work visa before but not in the UK. All my applications have been done in Nigeria. Do I answer Yes or No?

Thanks
