Rosaline5000: Companies will surely come to Nigeria, they are making money and Nigeria is full of so many corrupt leaders that many of this companies can thrive here.
So many Nigerians that are living by One dollar a day is living above their means, do you know many people eats just once a day, but of course let's blame the masses instead of the politicians that hoard our money.
In our Town years ago, a oil company decided to create a "Step down" for us, constant light supply but guess what the Town leaders ask the company to pay a huge amount of money to them before they can do anything, something that will Benefit everyone but all they care about is their own pocket. The company went away and still now we are still suffering from it but of course let's blame the masses Stop this blame game bikonu. From the first sentence in your last post, you openly admitted that companies(aka foreigners)come to Nigeria...so are you telling me that these companies aren't aware of the financial and economic situation of Nigeria...? Secondly, who voted those politicians into office ...? Is it not people like me and you ? Abegi . All this ranting won't change your situation and neither will it change the country |

Rosaline5000: If you think 60k salary per month is a big boy/ girl to you then I don't know what to say to you.
Did you come to this life to just eat and die, because that's all the salary can afford, you wont be able to save anything from it and when you finally have a family without a savings and you are buying cerelac for N32k and other things for the baby, then factor in light Bill's, house rents then come back to this.
If this was 2012 when things were cheaper and fuel was N165 and dollar was N150 then you can say N60k salary is golden.
And dont compare Nigeria to other poor countries unlike all those countries you are naming, we are supposed to have Oil money, many Arabic countries with Oil money like Qatar and co are very rich but we on the other hand are very poor. The politicians are the ones hoarding the money and only their family benefits from it but instead of you to be angry, you are accepting it as a norms and saying
"At least we are better than Yemen, Syria, those war ravage countries like come on man, is it that we have conditioned our mind to not like good things that our politicians keep stepping on our heads and we are thanking them saying at least they didn't cut our heads off.
We need to change our mindset, countries like USA, UK, Cannada are there, we should thrive to be compare to them not Somalia, Yemen, Syria Aunty, you better change this mindset of yours before poverty and depression overruns you. For your information, foreigners(Indians, Chinese, Lebanese..etc) keep flocking to your country each year to do business because of the potential for humongous gains they've discovered within the country. To give you an example, just take a look at MTN or DSTV ... these are South African owned businesses who have shifted the bulk of their operations to Nigeria all because of there is a serious demand for their services within the country. So the problem isn't Nigeria; the problem lies with people like you. Many of you are so used to living above your means without being able to maintain it . Some of you aren't even financially literate, so how can you see opportunity? If poverty-stricken Indians can come to your country and blow, then there is something seriously wrong with your citizens |

LordReed: Right. New York is the place Spiderman lives in in the comes. All the famous buildings and places in the RL New York are all in the Spiderman comics. If we follow your logic New York is real and is also in the comics, therefore anything the comics depict is also real. That is exactly what you said by saying "Jesus did exist , and if he did , then the bible's account must be true". That cannot be the case. That some real fact or person was included in a narrative does not automatically indicate that the narrative is also real or true. You must be delusional. Okay...so why do you believe Socrates existed? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Being An Atheist Is It An Excuse To Be Wicked? by Jashub: 2:43pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
LordReed: LoLz. New York exists does that mean the Spiderman comics are depictions of historical events? It seems you're not following the thread but I'll update you on it. Josephus and Tacitus (two non-christian historians) admitted in their annals , that a man called Jesus existed . These men were known to be neither biased or religious in their accounts of historical facts . Which makes the validity of Jesus's existence true . Besides that's, other eyewitness accounts from the Bible verify the truth of the man Jesus . So I don't see the connection here between New York and Spiderman . |

LordReed: WRONG. A person called Jesus the Christ could have exist and yet the bible still be wrong about everything attributed to him except the name. You need independent corrabotion especially for the more fantastic claims like the claims of miracles or resurrection from the dead. Very often you hear the counter example New York exists therefore Spiderman exists, that is exactly what you said here. I don't understand this rubbish you just typed. But I'll humor you and give another chance to arrange your argument in a logical manner |
Christianity Etc › Re: Being An Atheist Is It An Excuse To Be Wicked? by Jashub: 2:03pm On Feb 10, 2023 |
jaephoenix: This is what Tacitus wrote…
But all human efforts, all the lavish gifts of the emperor, and the propitiations of the gods, did not banish the sinister belief that the conflagration was the result of an order. Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judæa, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their centre and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then, upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind
Now we cannot really judge much because this was the only referral to Jesus outside the bible. No mention of his miracles ,his divinity, his resurrection etc. So make of it whatever you want Our focus was on his existence ...not miracles nor His divinity. Which brings me to my point : Jesus did exist , and if he did , then the bible's account must be true. Therefore, it will be foolishness not to believe in the existence of a God. It's as simple as that |
