After carefully reading through the much-awaited APC presidential campaign manifesto that was released over the weekend, we cannot but conclude that the elephant has given birth to an ant. After such a long delay, what the APC presidential candidate has come up with is a series of platitudes, half-thoughts, poor reasoning, and copied notes packaged and presented as 'renewed hope.'

The APC and its presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, could not even come up with something original: 'Renewed Hope 2023.' Really? This is again, another attempt by the APC candidate to appropriate Bashorun MKO Abiola's legacy. It would be more salutary if he were to run on his own steam instead of copying the memory of a man whose life trajectory was uncommon and whose hope for Nigeria was noble. And the APC candidate should be reminded that 1993 is far different from 2023.


The late MKO Abiola was known for industry and brilliance. Shall we ask what the APC candidate is known for? Whereas MKO’s Hope ‘93 was a genuine course; for the APC and Nigerians, it’s a forlorn hope ~ and that’s the message of Bola Tinubu and the APC campaign in 2023 In all honesty, the 80-page document that the APC has put together comes across as a little more than an insult to the sensibility and needs of Nigerians.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has narrowed the 2023 Presidency to a race of three.

A total of 18 parties fielded candidates for the number one position in the land, but the ruling party’s candidate believes he has just two persons – Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi – to contend with in February.

Although he did not mention the names of the duo, it was very clear he was referring to them as APC vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, gave context to Tinubu’s comment at an interactive session with leaders of the Tijanniya Sect in Kano on Sunday.

An adopted black boy named Abraham was moved to tears after being surprised with his first-ever birthday cake by his white parents. The touching video shared on Instagram and also has been reposted by Happiest on Facebook captured the moment his adopted mother came on the scene with a lit cake for the lad.

The boy was shocked and placed his hands on his mouth before rushing to hug his adopted father tightly. Other persons in the apartment began to sing a birthday song for the teary boy as he went on to hug his adopted mum. He blew out the candles without making a wish owing to the fact that he had not done it before

The doting white family made him redo it by lighting the candles again and asking him to make a wish before blo*wing it out. The lad just kept shedding tears of joy.

A Malawi man identified as Francis Banda has demolished houses he built for his wife and her mother after the wife left him for another man.

In a an audio shared on social media, Banda said that he and his wife have been married for 13 years and have three children

He added that during their marriage, he managed to build two houses, one for the wife and another for her mother at the wife’s home village.

According to Banda, his wife started a relationship with another man and she recently left their house.

At some point, Banda tried to communicate with the women but her phone was answered by the new man.

This angered Banda and he decided to demolish the houses which he built for the woman and her mother at her village.

Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi on Saturday visited Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State in Yenagoa, the state capital, to sympathise with victims of floods in the state.

The former governor of Anambra State, who earlier on Thursday visited flood-ravaged communities in Benue State to commiserate with victims, tasked the Federal Government to be proactive in mitigating the effects of devastating floods across the country.

Obi also called on his counterparts in other parties to suspend their campaigns and join him to help victims of floods across states of the federation.

Floods have hit parts of Nigeria in the last two months with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) saying that about 2.5 million persons were affected and over 603 persons killed by the flooding caused by torrential rainfall of late.

Houses and farmlands have been submerged in Lagos, Yobe, Borno, Taraba, Adamawa, Edo, Delta, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Benue, Ebonyi, Anambra, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Imo, Abia States, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Okowa congratulates Wike on public service award

Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated his Rivers counterpart, Nyesom Wike, on the conferment of the Award of Excellence in Public Service on him by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Wike was bestowed with the distinguished award in Infrastructure Delivery in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the development of Rivers State.
