Blend normal oats (Good morning, Quaker). Make the way you would make oats ,sweeten with milk or fruit puree.

Thank you so much.

Don't worry very soon he will start running when you want to dress him up. Or he will crawl away with poo poo when you want to change diaper and smear everywhere with poo poo

Then when he starts walking your kitchen will no longer be safe
Your books will turn to toys
Your remotes will become drum sticks
Lmao... I will faint for him. There is something he does now,as soon as you remove his diaper he rushes for his penis and keeps handling it. Sometimes he touches his poo in the process.

The first day he entered the kitchen with his walker,he scattered the stuffs on the floor. As soon as he starts walking the kitchen will always be locked o.

For the remotes issue, ayam tired. I just jejely wipe it with his wipes or a towel in little water and hand it over to him as it goes straight into his mouth so that I can enjoy my sitting room type in peace if not he will keep dragging it with me.

Hello mamas and our beautiful LOs you people did not explain this thing well o. Is that how the crawling and standing matter used to be? Lol. DS will be 9months on Sunday (21st). For the past 2weeks that he started his crawling thing eh I haff suffered. He wants to be everywhere at the same time. He wants to stand while you dress him up,hold his wipes, diaper, vaselin inshort everything in his hand. We now have 1 tooth o,he was dragging my bread with me the other day. I made little of his milk and soaked the bread inside the tea and gave him and he ate it so well.

This means so much to me as he is my first and watching him achieve these milestones gives me unexplainable joy. May God protect our LOs

DS doesn't want me to enjoy my holiday in peace. After my last post about having fever bla bla bla on Tuesday. I went to work on Wednesday as the fever had reduced and he was beginning to tolerate orals. His nanny called me and was saying Iya Ife the devil is out grin. I said which devil biko in my house key? She then said measles,I was flabbergasted...lol. I said but I just left home 4hrs ago,I didn't mind her I came home confirmed it and off we went to the hospital again o. Iam wondering how he contacted it,he has a nanny in the house that hasn't gone home in 3weeks so I won't say she got it from her house and brought it to my house. DS turned 8months on thursday, the stupid thing didn't even wait for him take measles vaccine. He has lost so much weight in week eh... He is much better now o. God will not allow us celebrate our Christmas in the hospital o.

Pele dear. Glad to hear your son is much better.

I enjoyed reading your write up. You make a very good story writer. kiss

It’s very typical of men to think that we are overreacting over certain issues. angry

Ever since I had to go to the hospital with a sick child around 2am, I have learnt never to allow any symptoms fester for long before going to the hospital. My threshold for “wait and see” is maximum 24 hours (and that’s for a child older than 12months). Younger than 12months, we are off to the hospital that same day.

I have realised that the longer you wait, you only end up with a child whose symptoms go from bad to worse, you have sleepless nights, you are stressed, you can’t go to work, you can’t do anything.

So the earlier the child is seen by a doctor the better for both the parents and the child.

Self medication is very bad. These days, there are just too many drugs out there that it’s impossible to just “guess” which one will work except one is an experienced medical professional (doctor).

As for the laboratory technologists lipsrsealed lipsrsealed no words. lipsrsealed some of them “learn” the role as apprentices without any formal tertiary education.
Thanks for the compliments Sis... I learnt the very hard way. May God protect our LOs

Thank God your son is OK. As per that lab something self, make I talk my own. When I had mc, I went for lab tests after everything has cleared with hubby. When the results came out after 4days, hubby went to pick it up. Can't remember hubby's own
My result:
Candidasis: +++
Staph:+++
Blood in urine

When I saw it, I screamed and said lai lai this is not my result o. When I'm not itching, no smelly discharge or fever. Hubby don already start quarrel oo meanwhile he took his own result to doc who placed him on injection, gave him drugs and omeprazole(said he have traces of ulcer). After begging him to redo the test he refused.

I went for a repeat test in the hospital and everything came out clean, hubby no believe. My gyn suggested clinix or union diagnostic. I went to clinix, did hvs/cbc/vdrl/urinalysis and everything came out clean(I didn't take shingibai drugs). My doctor refused to give me drugs or insertion oo so it won't spoil the normal flora.

The day hubby saw the lab man ehh, he insulted devil outta him and even told him to close up his office. Please only if the lab is recommended by your doctor, don't go to any how lab oo maka HBP.
Na God go help person o.

Mehnnnn!!! I have been through alot this past few days. Even as a nurse I got so confused. So DS(almost 8months) was a little bit warmer than usual on Friday night,by Saturday morning he had a temperature spike of 37.8,I gave him paracetamol syrup and started lonart, antimalaria syrup for him that morning. By Sunday,I told hubby this boy is still having fever o let us take him to the hospital at least to run test since he has had 3doses of the anti malaria already and the fever is still there. Hubby started saying shebi you are a nurse na,and that his dad is a nurse and he never went to the hospital as a kid. I foolishly said ok o,oya go and buy us Zinnat antibiotic (which he bought for 4,450naira),we started that one too. Sunday night I didn't sleep,my son had a temp spike of 39.3 I kept on tepid sponging him after giving him Nurofen syrup while Hubby was enjoying his sleep.

Yesterday I told hubby if you won't take us to the hospital just give me your Atm card let me go,he decided on the road that we should go to a lab instead that I can interpret the result na. That is how I went to the lab o,after waiting for 1hr for the malaria, full blood count result to come out. The result said my son had PCV of 23% and malaria(++). I didn't wait for hubby to even decide,I rushed out entered bike and ran to the hospital with DS o. With 23% pcv he might need a blood transfusion. On getting to the hospital, the fever was up again,he was given something for it. The doctor examined him and said he didn't look anaemic, that his PCV can't be 23. We ran another test, the PCV came out fine,no bacterial infection which I suspected and bought Zinnat for,the malaria parasite was still there(+). The doctor now suggested I give another malaria drug that had different components. I started it this morning and he hadn't had fever since then.

In conclusion, please avoid self medication oooo. I promised myself I would never gamble with my son's health again. Go to a reputable laboratory/a reputable hospital immediately you notice anything out of normal.

To be a mother no easy sha,I cried my eyes out yesterday eh, that lab guy I will still go and cause trouble in the lab let my son be fine first.

The vaccines given at 6weeks are Pentavalent,Opv, pneumococcal conjugate. Rotavirus vaccine is also taken at 6weeks and then 10weeks. It is not normally given at general hospitals as they ain't supplied by the govt hence it isn't free. You can get it at a private hospital,it is quite pricey. During my time,I bought from a reputable pharmacy that maintains the cold chain system and administered it to my baby very carefully.

I am a first time mum, lemme share how I have being able to handle some things, some people might find it helpful.

My DS is 7months+ now and has never had cattarh, though he doesn't go to a crèche,he has a nanny at home. I give him vitamin c everyday. When he was born,he passes stool say 5times a day and by 3months he was passing 3times,not watery stool o. I wasn't comfortable with it even though his doctor said there wasn't an issue because he wasn't putting weight as I expected. I started him on a multivite that contains Zinc after plenty Google search and his pooing several times a day reduced to once and these days on alternate days.

My son used to hate water so much,it bothered me o. After eating he will take just 2 or 3 spoons of water and that was it. It came to my mind to buy a very colorful sippy cup(it has two handles that he can hold with both hands) that solved my water issue o. If he sees you with his cup he will always want to drag it from you force it open and drink whatever is in it. Since he refused feeding bottle I make his milk in it too.

The post is already too long, make una no vex o... I am very jobless today.

So I decided to do it after some tots(nothing lost) I gave it to her and d very not day she started eating her normal baby foods. Praise the Lord grin
My dear Sis,same happened to me o. I dewormed my DS at 6months,the paed said no need o. He was throwing up once a day for 1 week,I took him to the hospital after running tests everything came out clean. His paediatrician said since no fever it could be viral. Even as a nurse,I was so confused. My son's nanny was the one that said mummy Ife let us deworm this boy na,I called his paed he said no o. After another week of vomiting I ran to the pharmacy and bought a worm expeller na so my worries take go o. From the very next day no more vomiting o. I am for you jare, kisses to your Lo

Good morning pretty mamas, please I will like to know what I should expect for 6weeks postpartum visit. Note: I had 2nd degree cervical laceration and also tears from front to back during delivery'. What I need to know is will I be checked under? Do I need to pay hospital for the appointment? What are the possible questions I should ask? Thanks for the help
The doctor might want to check how well the laceration has healed, how well your uterus has involuted,he might also want to discuss family planning options. You ain't supposed to pay, normally the antenatal package spans till 6weeks. After 6weeks check up you are officially discharged. Subsequently when you see the doctor you pay for it.

That moment when you're so pained and agonized and there is no one to tell.... You're dying in your very eyes.

What about those negligent nurses that assume accident victims dead and then send them to the mortuary. All in the Name Laziness.
