[quote author=Tobermom post=39791028]1. The 32 page one
2.77 dollars but an extra 30 dollars for processing ( in money order cos i wasnt able to pay online
4.we applied online, printed out the forms ,submitted and collected same day. You need to be there before 1pm
3.the two money orders ( both addressed to different agencies) 2 photocopies of the one you paid with ( if you are paying with money order) . a copy of babys bc, consent letter signed by both parents plus the application form.
5. Innovate 1 services. Com
6. We applied online and paid but showed up without appointment. Just went with these documents. And yes its the consulate.

Thanks so much @tobermum
But with d naija passport now, u don't need a visa or anything on it for baby to leave to naija abi?
But wait oo if its roughly 100 bucks and takes barely 48hrs how come most people still prefer to do naija visa which is almost 3 times d cost?
Or it can only be done in NYC only?

Congrats Jayjay on the birth of your baby. Discovered this thread sometime last year after I returned from having my baby in Massachusetts (Brockton) last year and have been following since then. I agree with you that the cost of having a baby in Massachusetts (particularly Boston area) is high but like your wife, I had free accomodation , feeding and my friends were really nice to me and organised a surprise baby shower and blessed by Princess with lots of clothes, shoes and some cash) so I didn't mind the associated cost of having the baby there cos I felt I was home.

Has your wife picked up the baby's birth certificate? I was able to pick my baby's bc 3 working days after her birth. For her passport, I went to the Boston Passport Agency at 10 Causeway Street and was asked to pick her passport the following day. Although they advise you make an appointment before visiting the agency, I just walked in and was lucky I was attended to after explaining to them the passport was needed for an urgent travel to Nigeria. I used Eddy for the Nigerian Visa. In total, I was able to get all her documents in two weeks.

I wish you and your family all the best.
About the birth certificate theyre saying two weeks oo
How did unget d birth cert in two days pls help!

Firstty read in btw her line n decide what this woman is trying to sayhuh I have a shop n travel there to buy stuff n I hate d turkey experience but I can't help it cos my customers love their clothes!! So I was just trying to advise the lady cos I knw the Turkish r not friendly n being preggy n on dat flight won't be that good for her sanity!! So why should some one say I'm not being genuine because I said my truth!! And it's not fair that she has her baby n prolly back to naija n antagonizing people here!! That's not cool!! Aren't we meant to be our sistas?? Maybe I missed d memo sha!! I had to even behave stupid by uploading my girls pic out of annoyance!!
All this kasala me no see the genesis ooo, na misunderstanding/misrepresentation oooo
@neks & @modath
Both of u are advising her against Turkish airline, and meanwhile ingenuity doesn't mean you're not genuine
ooo @ neks plsss, I sure say na hormones
reminds me of wen DW cry so tey say she wan enter plane come back naija
Had to beg and say don't worry LO will soon come, then 2 weeks and 2 days u can come back
@ocy take note I will pick your brains about the 2 weeks 2 days thingy cry these hormones can do things ooo
So let me reiterate pls make una sheat d swords and sip tea like firsty
Peace out

[quote author=bbaby84 post=39393876]Don't get that part. How do you get discount for a hospital you've not used or don't intend using?

The only agent that advertises on this thread as far as am concerned, ie doctoresparati , offer Money for referral so what are we talking about?

I also wonder too, I don't think they read it cos if you have read this thread then you will know how to process baby's docs. I didn't have to ask any question when I was processing my baby's because I read through and made notes.
I think another issue is not taking pen and paper to jot down, if u can't do dat whenever u see useful info you can just munch/ screengrab/take a screen shot, that way its saved on your fone for future reference

[quote author=firsttymum post=39059619]A friend of a friend is 25 weeks pregnant.

She got her visa 2weeks ago.

She was asked where she works
And who she's going to the US with and her reply was she's going with her hubby for vacation.

In all honesty she wants to go for delivery

Ours was a similar situation, wifey was 22 weeks wen we went for d interview, they asked if she was pregnant or needed any medical care, which she replied No, visas granted
We then stumbled on NL, and saw change of intent which we den sent like 2 weeks later to both abuja and Lagos, got generic replies d Same day. We then started packaging drs correspondence, cash, etc for POE which even though was a breeze we actually had to show.

You ever hear of a WOMAN telling a pregnant woman that she should stop throwing up cos the sound is irritating..... said it's an involuntary action but was gently scolded to try & manage it.. grin cheesy grin

After delivery, i was asked why i no longer throw up, said i told you it was involuntary but i was informed that no one throws up in late pregnancy so it was a deliberate act to annoy... grin cheesy

My dear wise ones i still seek your opinion on the questions asked earlier biko
My thot, you have your visa already, you have correspondences and receipts of part payment, that should suffice for POE, somebody just mentioned some 'affordable' hospitals in NJ like 2 posts before this, (St marys and St Barnabas I think)
Return ticket is a must if u don't have residency permit

I remember for this trip our flight was 1125pm, and DW couldn't understand why we took off to the airport @5pn lol, I said Ehn I'd rather finish everything and be sitting down and waiting ;DD

Congrats....Guess you were the one I saw at the embassy on same day with a mil uniform. Advice you check with Arik Office at Transcorp Abuja instead of calling cos most of the customer care personel give wrong info on the phone. Goodluck
@free2naira: Arik Lagos experience
At the check in counter even if u have a fit to fly, they will direct you to the port health downstairs at the arrival where the staff will examine her and fill a fit to fly for her. This is my personal opinion, I think if they asses that you look healthy and your vitals are OK, they just issue u a fit to fly certificate, cos my wife was 32 weeks, Arik says they don't carry beyond 28 weeks, we went to port health they examined measured and gave us a fit to fly certificate, we noticed that they wrote 28 weeks there even though we told dem we were 32 weeks, on gisting with dem, they said they won't give a fit to fly to anybody who is assesed to be 36 weeks . so I assume if you're less than 36 weeks they just write 28 and declare u fit to fly.
The fee is N1,200
