Judolisco:So Obasanjo did not play any role in GE'sa victory abi? The truth is that Obasanjo withdrew his support for GEJ and everything went crazy for him. |
Firstly, he was the only southwest governor that survived the "umbrella revolution" of 2003. Others like Bisi Akande, Lam Adesina, Segun Osoba, couldn't secure a second term nod. So being the only AD governor then made him so popular. Furthermore, as at the time when people think Jagaban would bow for Obasanjo's pressure, he held his ground and he was steadfast with his progressive ideology. Not that alone, Tinubu was able to nurture and finance AD (which later turned AC and then ACN) for a one state party in 2003 to a party that controls 6 states and then forming a formidable opposition against the then ruling party in 2011. While spreading his political tentacles, I think a major factor that has been helping him is the fact that he will never support mediocrity at the expense of merit. He has the best brains as far as politics of naija is concerned. Fashola, Fayemi, Amobode, Muiz Banire, Abiola Ajimobi, Fowler, Abike Dabiri, Femi Gbajabiamila, Aregbesola, Jide Omoworare, Ibikunle Amosun etc. The list is just endless. I think Asiwaju is not just developing himself, he is grooming other young boys. This will make him so relevant for long. |

Ibikunle Amosun to me is the best governor in Nigeria. Approximately 50% increment in IGR in just one year is just too cool. |
Theresa May is the new Conservative Party leader and will become the UK's second female prime minister on Wednesday, taking charge at one of the most turbulent times in recent political history. The 59-year old home secretary's carefully cultivated image of political dependability and unflappability appears to have made her the right person at the right time as the fallout from the UK's vote to leave the EU smashed possible rivals out of contention. Long known to have nurtured leadership ambitions of her own, Mrs May - whose university friends recall her ambition to be the UK's first female PM - could have reasonably expected to have had to wait until at least 2018 to have a shot at Downing Street. But the EU referendum which David Cameron called and lost - the year after leading the party to its first election win in 23 years - turned political certainties on their head and, as other candidates fell by the wayside after the PM's own resignation, Mrs May emerged as the "unity" candidate to succeed him. That her party should rally round her at such a time of national uncertainty is testament not only to the respect in which she is held across the party but to the fact that, in a world where political reputations can be shredded in an instant, Mrs May is the ultimate political survivor. In the early days she may have become known for her exuberant choice of footwear - her kitten heels became famous in political circles in the noughties, while she named a lifetime subscription to Vogue as the luxury item she would take to a desert island . www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36660372

mike76chi:Islamic banking is a banking system guided by the Islamic laws. If there's a banking system guided by biblical laws, christians in Nigeria should start it. For your information, UK has less than 10percent muslims, yet they have Islamic banks. Why then shouldn't Nigeria that has roughly 50percent muslims have one? |
PDP is dead in Ogun. Amosun is working! |

rose54321:Bro, it seems you don't understand how populous lagos is. You will be surprised that after the introduction of these buses into the transport system of lagos, the demand won't still be met. |
Good piece bro |
rose54321:Try go learn the difference between liability and asset. The buses are for business purpose not for government officials to drive around. It will definitely bring more to the government purse. |
Dear PDP, you are doing more harm than good by not giving us the necessary opposition we deserve. Is this the best you can offer? |
The beauty of OAU is exemplified in it's lovely structures likewise in it's products as evident in the job market and governance. The image below is the new Senate building of Obafemi Awolowo University which is ship like in it's design. Have you watched Titanic before but haven't seen a such ship with you eyes then get set to visit OAU. Cc fynestboi, Lalasticlala http://spicebolt..nl/2016/05/oau-titanic-ship-senate-building.html?m=1

Governor Ambode ko fo shi |
Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, says nobody will be shielded from the military operations against militants. He was speaking on Monday when he received the military high command in his office ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari-ordered crackdown on the militants who are attacking pipelines. Wike said: “As a government, we cannot support economic sabotage. What is going on is economic sabotage. Production is being negatively affected, with the revenue of states dwindling. “There are ways to channel grievances and it is wrong to do what will negatively affect the people of the region.” He assured the military high command that the people of Rivers state will support efforts to secure the area. Wike said all Niger Delta governors oppose the use of violence to settle grievances. The governors are billed to meet with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on June 7 to discuss the security situation in the region, he said. In the military team were Abayomi Olonisakin, a general and chief of defence staff; Tukur Buratai, lt. general and chief of army staff; Ibok Ibas, vice admiral and chief of naval staff; an Sadiq Abubakar, air marshal and chief of air staff. Olonisakin said the resurgence in militancy in the Niger Delta is of serious concern to the military. https://www.thecable.ng/wike-backs-military-operations-militants |

I prefer Soyinka any day. |
This same question was addressed to the former Secretary to the Federal Government (Alh. Yayale Ahmed) by a former clerk of the Great Ife Students' Union (Akintujoye Penniela) at the level of Oduduwa Hall in OAU. The Secretary stated categorically that the fee is highly illegal and that there's nothing like acceptance fee in the dictionary of the FG. |
Going by what I read in the book Soldiers of Fortune, Okar coup, just like other coups in Nigeria , was more of personal and ethnic interest than that national interest. All the same, RIP gallant soldiers! |
Professor Bamitale Omole is the worst Vice chancellor in the history of Obafemi Awolowo University. During his regime, fees were increases with little to show for it. Imagine Ife constructing swimming pool for #500million and yet the state of Great Ife halls of residence are so critical. May God give OAU a better VC come June. |
Thought you guys already had the supports of Putin and the Pope |
SR remains the king of investigative journalism as far as this country is concerned. May God bless Omoyele Sowore! |
