Abo Ogun dey killl family? Na family go carry her bills and responsibilities? Respect should run both ways. Boundaries should be respected and principles should be upheld.
If she can accommodate her request, it should be EX-GRATIA out of her own goodwill and NOT BECAUSE OF FAMILY.
You cannot gaslight or blackmail me for your own ERRORS OF OMISSION AND POOR JUDGEMENT.

My sister and I aren’t especially close, but we’ve always had a good relationship.

Because we’d be working all weekend, and I would also be spending most of the day with the bride on her wedding morning. I asked my sister if she could watch my kids from Friday to Sunday.

She refused.

She said she wasn’t a nanny and was busy preparing for her own wedding—even though it was still two weeks away.

Then she added that my children were “too much work.”

That one hurt. In the end, my husband and I had to drive several hours out of our way to his sister’s house instead.

My friend’s wedding was a huge success. The cake and makeup got so many compliments. People couldn’t stop talking about either of them.

Then the stories about my sister’s vendors started reaching me. The baker she hired was apparently difficult to reach.

People complained that her cakes looked better online than they did in real life.

The makeup artist wasn’t doing much better. There were constant disagreements over pricing, appointments, and extra charges.

I stayed out of it. After all, she had made her choice.

Then, three days before her wedding, my sister called. She wanted me to bake her cake and do her makeup.

I agreed.

Then I told her she’d have to pay the standard fee, plus the express booking fee we charge every client who comes to us at the last minute.

Now she’s crying, saying I’m wicked and I want to ruin her wedding out of envy and spite.

My parents are calling family meetings. Everyone wants to know how I could possibly charge my own sister.

My husband thinks we should just do it and keep the peace.

But I can’t help remembering that she didn’t trust me with the job when she had months to plan, and she couldn’t help me when I needed her.

Now that her plans have fallen apart, she’s suddenly coming to me last minute to save the day.

Am I wrong for expecting to be paid?
