Your only point is that the aworis settled in some parts of Lagos before the bini came, my question is who named it Lagos then If no be BINI found Lagos, na the Portuguese found Lagos na, since na them rename from Eko to Lagos😁😁😁

Carry your iru smelling mouth gerrout. We the indigines know the real history of Lagos and Lagos state. I read political science and I also did History of lagos as a course and I am exposed to many different versions of the history of Lagos and that of the Oba is one of the distorted versions.
My wife us also a Lagosian from one if the Onisiwo Islands.
The Aworis were there on Lagos Island as at when the Bini warriors who were going on their war expedition against the Ajase in Dahomey set up camp there.
We faulted the Oba's choice of the word FOUNDED because Lagos Island as a marshy land was inhabited by the Asipa family of the Aworis and it was mainly used as a farm settlement because of the terrain.
The Bini warriors imposed a tribute collection and their rule on the inhabitants of the Island who are predominantly farmers and fishermen. They couldn't face the strength of the bini warriors. After the war, some left and those that cannot travel back to Benin remained.
In light of the above, the bini warriors could not have founded a land with an already established people and settlement.
It will be wrong to say we the Yorubas founded Benin because at some point the Benin kingdom was ruled by Yorubas and the Obas have Yoruba linage.
