Other things we did was to take some of the poo to the desired spot. Putting her nose in the poo when she poos in the wrong spot along with some spanking.

Rewarding her is also necessary when she gets it right. I bet u know that already.

About her age, I think it can still work.

This was 5 months and two weeks.

At this point we had lost most of her black color, please house what can I do to get the darker color? I was advised to add cod liver oil or so to her feed daily to give a shiny coat, this I have started.

I read that they usually change color as they grow, does that mean this is my final color?

if yes next time I'm definitely buying all black so that even if it gets lighter it won't get this light

I started taking her for walks to exercise her bones

There was a parvo scare some days before this picture, she vomited her food twice but didn't stop eating afterwards, i immediately took her to the vet who check her temperature through the anus and said she was fine however because it's parvo season he will advise she undergoes treatment, I didn't even hesitate sharply! once beaten twice shy. she was given injections for three days.

PS : I always follow up with vaccination and deworming as at when due. All shots were received.

Different strokes for different folks. I had the opportunity of picking an all black puppy but I chose a lighter one. And like yours, She has been getting lighter since then and I am loving it.

One side of her body is almost white. I however noticed she is growing some black long guard hair.

Worry not, you have a fine puppy there irrespective of the colour besides it will still change.

current Age: 5 months plus 3 weeks

She understands simple commands, for example sit, come, but she doesn't hear go yet or stop. I have really tried my best and I'm getting tired.

She sits when we hold her food and put it on the floor and won't go for it till we say eat or turn away or point.

So far those are the only successful training.

Funny the only lesson my 4month old knows is never pooing in her cage. Everything else has failed.

We trained her by taking her to a desired place where we wanted her to poo (on a leash) and waiting till she was done. We did this for a couple of days till she figured it out.
We started this when she was about 10weeks.

I almost gave up initially cos it was really a long wait.

We let her out twice a day. In the morning and evening. She always gets the poo business done during these periods.

You have tried with the other commands though like I said I wasn't able to achieve that.

I don't use fish meal. I used to buy smoked fish crumbs from katako or crayfish but I noticed they don't like it.

what I use is iced fish.

Please, before grinding, do you fry the groundnut or raw like that, do you fry the soybeans or raw.? Please try to make the food preparation more explanatory. Thanks a lot

In my own case, I fry the soy beans take it to the mill where they remove the back. I also fry the gnuts (no need removing the back). I then grind everything with corn(maize). I use Iced fish during the daily cooking.

There are times I don't use soy beans cause the processing gives me extra stress.

Very true! When I got to the mill the lady there also gave me some ideas it's really common here in Jos.

So it's 2 weeks now since pups arrived. They all go to the Vet for first deworming session. It went well. This will be repeated every two weeks till week 8 I believe and then later. Vaccinations will start in some weeks too I believe. So all pups get full compliments of what's needed before going to New homes at week six. Hopefully.

Actually, it's all about the fur/hair and the genes too. Cos my feeding is practically basic nothing out of the ordinary.

Since Isis's Arion finished, I have been feeding her bingo (though I was advised not to) I also feed her what I feed my older dog's (corn, groundnut, fish mill mixture) just a bit though.

When she took ill her constant food was raw eggs at most 3 a day. Some days, she would have just 2. Got canned food as well but she ate that just once and lost interest.

I also noticed that regular washing of her bowl helps her eat more. Meanwhile, I feed her just twice a day and she always has clean water.

Let's get some scale so u would have an idea of how she really is.

A week after the vet visit.

So Isis was black at birth but within days her colour started changing and she could easily be spotted among her siblings. Now, she is nothing like her colour at birth. she has sure changed a lot and she looks nothing like her parents colour wise.

Isis is here at 4months. She had some teething issues and barely ate for a week. Had to take her to the vet's. She is all good now.

My almost 4months old puppy is teething and she has completely lost her appetite. This has been on since Sunday. As at today, she has even refused to taste her favourite food.

I have been giving her vitamins but I still need pointers and ideas please.

please not that she does not vomit and her stool is firm.

When left alone and the dam is lying down sideways about 6 pups if awake find the nips and start sucking away. I am mindful of one pup or two who cos of their size get edged out from those natural sessions. So I ensure a session where these particular ones get a full session and ultimately others as well in 2...3 hour cycles. This will also to allow dam to rest, eat, drink and probably take a lick.

Just trying to create a rhythm. We start at about 5..6 am till bout 1am. I am on standby to augment milk with SMA baby milk if I notice dam is not producing enough or feel the pups are not getting enough. The natural way is best of course but I'm ready to step in as need may arise. Over the next couple of days once I'm satisfied that all 10 puppies get their fair share I'll step back and allow nature take its course. You can't miss the two males and their biggest heads and sizes and a couple of the females who bully their way to seize a nip.
