gman55: Hello Ma, The puppies will be 4weeks in days time. I have introduce semi solid food, Cerelac added to their formal diet. Wanted to ask about the dried kibbies you talk about, what are they really. Can I skip and go for wet canned food for puppies. I use Arion dry kibbies. Meanwhile, at this stage, I use the whole egg. I boil and blend. If u use wet canned food now, u may spoil them silly. my opinion though. |

Good luck to everyone! Mr it's even awkward, I see u know better than the panelist! It helped me ooo. just watch this space I will be among those rejoicing when the list comes out. |

Bodmillz: Congrats on your achievements. I didn’t see any form of encouragement in your post but rather a form of swanking.
No matter where you schooled, how many presidential handshakes you have received, I believe you are a scholar and can distinguish between a National/International award and an award conferred in your school. It seems you have issues ooo. People have complained here that others don't share information and this guy graciously went out of his way to share and you see it that he is swanking. I wish to thank the guy with the 13 awards for sharing I am sure that has humbled some of us at the same time, some of us will get to see the grace of God working in our lives. In my own case, I have 2 awards from my place of work (best customer service award), a private organization. When I gave them at the interview, no questions were even asked they gave me my full points for those there was no debate on whether it was national or international. So don't shortchange yourselves next time. just take all and sundry. |

Eveezy: Her bump could come out during the last week, so still keep ur fingers crossed, I once had a female that was always like that ND sometimes no even bump, only a little fatter, ND den drop like 6 pups, so I eventually stopped bothering abt her being big in d tummy, I currently have a female too that is supposedly pregnant, I don't know how hers is as this is her first mating, but I also haven't seen any changes apart from her nipples dt increased just a bit, she grew fatter but I feel that's cos I started feeding her a more quality food Thanks Eveezy. one would think that since its my 3rd time I should know most anything (lol)but then... we all are still learning. Like they say, 'no 2 pregnancies are the same' |

Pets › Re: I Love My Dogs! by jayned(op): 3:16pm On Jun 03, 2018 |
it's day. 47 of mating and we are yet to see a baby bump. Even though by day 40 of the last, we could see the round baby bump. this makes me wonder if she is carrying very few or if she is pregnant at all.
The ray of hope though is her breast are a little bit enlarged though no milk yet. Another sign is she now loves to rest alot. always loving to sit. She however still chases after birds, lizards etc with all her might (which always leaves me panicking).
She is so hyper active that we are like if she supposedly had 2 stillbirths as a result of activity the last time, then this time it might be a lot more. Since she does not live in a conventional dog cage, we have to release her every now and then so she does not soil the room too often.
Another sign is her appetite is not as wild as usual.
See pictures below. I don't see any bump. abi eye dey pain me? I really hope so.

aquadude15: Boss, saying bear is hyper active is an understatement. She jumps at anything jumpable. Even with the rope on her legs and eith her bulging tommy, she still jump but the rope limit her leg stretching. I was given two option to limit her in a cage that with fit only her body size till she ehelp or tie her legs to reduce her activity, i opted for the later because its still humane. I now get u. She will outgrow the hyperactivity eventually. Thanks for the tone of your response. |

gman55: Hello Now I know why Breeders and sellers of good breed can be mean and tough when you negotiate with them for a puppy. The work no be here. Followed your instructions religiously, e pass stress of a human baby. Firstly, I got the Complan Milk and crates of eggs. Opted for feeding bottle because of the soft nipples. Carefully separated the yokes from the egg white. The first time, I placed all six yokes in a bowl and added the boiling water stirred thoroughly, left it for a while, added like 5 teaspoons of the milk, mixed very well and attempted to feed them. Drama start. The first puppy I picked made a mess of the stuff, my wife had to rescue me. Skillfully she fed all puppy turn by turn, I was the one washing the feeding bottle and adding the correct portion as instructed. The second attempt, I took one yoke at a time for each puppy. The task is herculean, but I am loving it. The strong smell of the eggs, forces me to take my bath immediately after feeding them. Expecting a vet today for deworming and cropping the ears. One of the puppy is showing signs of aggression. Thanks again for your prompt response when I ask questions I am really grateful. Have not been able to do the four times a day yet, but 2-3 times cos of my schedule. I can't wait when they will be able to start eating themselves. I am glad you are getting a hang of it. (thanks to wifey) . Dont worry in no time they will and the stress will be less. I know it's really fun. thanks for the pictures. all the best. |

gman55: Hello I have followed your various thread with apt attention, and must say I am better for it. My dam gave birth to six litters some 8days back. Her attitude to the pups have changed drastically, her feeding them have been altered too. I saw in your post how you hand fed your pups, I got Complan already, need your advice on how you mix with egg why you choose complan and how long I give them before the next food routine. (what's your recommendation For the food I buy please) I eagerly await your response as always. Saw your DM but had issues with my phone so I ran here to see if u had made contact. Congratulations on the birth I see it went well. I chose complan because it is gluten free which is good for the puppies (apart from the high nutritional value). The guys that taught me this method said to use 1 egg yolk for each puppy for each feed and to feed 4 times daily. But I used less eggs cos I felt 4eggs per day was too much but at some point I did that sha. 1.I break the egg in a bowl, dip my fingers in water and pick the egg yolk. 2.Pour hot boiling water over the egg yolk and beat. (I noticed it coagulates if I boil and they don't swallow smoothly). 3. Let it cool abit then add my complan to prevent it from forming balls. 4. I feed when it's warm. Using a syringe so as not to drown them and let it not be too watery. At 3 weeks, I introduce cerelac to this formula. At 4 weeks I introduce Arion puppy to the formula. You may not get it right the first time but it will get better. all the best. |

tblackE61: Bro as at that time I mated her, it wasn't my plan to do that! But my other male dog blacky got loosed during the night and went straight to Tasha's cage! They were together over d night ! I woke up to see dem and got scared if blacky haven't mate my Darling Tasha. I called my vet and some close friends from our dog group and they advised I go mate her to be on the safer side. I left my home immediately that day to mate her as I was as scared as hell! It was later I got to know that my pretty girl is still a virgin infact the mating was more like a rape because my baby girl couldn't withstand the pain we had to force the make on her. And I could see water running from her eyes. So bad av been trying to post videos but not going! Any interested buyer can chat me up for the mating video. How unfortunate, I have tears in my eyes too. Thankfully it ended well. congratulations |

All they checked was my Bsc cert and my awards from my place of work.
I was drilled on my research topic . I could not answer some of the questions.
Meanwhile my time was slated for 2 and I was there by 12 and was interviewed some minutes later.
All the best to us all. |

aywhy93: If the first part of this is true, that means my dam will most likely have complications but I'm sure she won't. I feed her twice a day normally and the breeder said she's too big, that I should reduce her food, when I used to think she's too small and wished I fed her better and richer food.
When I mated her, I read from different experienced foreign breeders that I should even feed her more starting from the second trimester. Now, I feed her heavily 3 times a day and sometimes 4, with milk and egg in her meals almost everyday. Expecting her to whelp on Sunday or before. Fingers crossed! BTW, mine is Boerboel though dogs are dogs. Let's hope for the best. We will learn from your experience. Please keep us posted. |

gman55: Thanks for your response, my dam likes food, the option of cutting her ration may not work for me. Though I am considering stopping the daily eggs I add to her Diet as advised. From your talk, the offspring size Will largely be determined by the parents DNA not the food you feed the mum when pregnant. Learning alot from your post. Thanks I am glad you are learning, we all are...food can definitely determine the puppies size at birth. It works even in humans. |

This is what ira looks like 2 weeks after mating. There have been no changes so far. I try to restrict her movement so from today, she is off night duty.
Meanwhile Zeus is no longer on heat (if u get my drift). Thankfully no more whining. So 'heat' lasted about 10days or so.
I noticed it's Ira who has no sensuality(but thankfully she is fertile) because she never agreed to be mated willingly. It was always a struggle and always felt like rape. Whenever we go for second mating. you can always see the agony in her eyes.
I once posted that my dogs don't like fish waste. Well, I found a way of making the tolerate it. I grind the fish waste at a mill and sprinkle on their cooked food and that has solved the problem. It has saved me the problem of buying iced fish.

gman55: Will appreciate your advise. Crossed my female Caucasian recently, she is heavy now. I usually Feed her once a day, do I still keep to this routine or change? What do you advice I feed her with given her present status, in addition to her meal. Expect your feedback soonest In my opinion, you should maintain status quo. When I mated my dog for the first time, I was told to reduce her food ration to a quarter becos my dam was too large and also because they don't want the puppies to be too large at birth (to avoid complications). I was asked not to feed her egg and meat as well. Well, I did that. For the second season, I barely reduced her ration but I stopped egg and meat. I got the same results for both seasons. I really don't know what the best practice is because when I googled it, I got different opinions. so I go with what works for me. Meanwhile, the puppies were not large at birth for both seasons. In my opinion, the birth was pretty easy cos she just kept popping them out. I attached a picture of my dam while whelping. ( this was before I moved her to a comfortable spot) You may however give her small portions daily (if it's convenient for you) since she is pretty far along.
