The 30% to the north should worry everyone, both southerners and northerners.

Why ?

It is being earmarked for a failed cause, decades of forced oil exploration in the north has not yielded positive result, this money is being planned to pay northern politicians and their contractor collaborators to fraudulently search something that will not be found. They will simply share the money among themselves. The north and other parts of the country has more pressing problems that can be solved with this money.

2. This is money that ordinarily should have gone to the federation account and be shared to all states and local governments in the country, if the 30% payout is not stopped every state will lose this hugh money to a few northern politicians and their contractor collaborators.

3. 30% to the north and 3% to the host communities is insulting to the host communities, how do you think the host communities will respond to the insult on the long run, this will not encourage a peaceful oil exploration activity.

4. They are planning a legal stealing of the oil wealth of the south and the revenue from the industrial activities in the south. Since they are targeting nnpc funds, even profits from petrol importation and consumption in the south will now be forwarded to the north.

5. This is Abacha's PTF version 2. Remove oil subsidy, channel the profits of the oil mostly consumed in the south to the north.

In all fairness to El-rufai (which most comments here lack) he has advocated for bandits to be "sentenced to death", he has invited the NAF to carry out multiple air raids in his state on bandits camps. Dear Nairalanders,
I have an issue that has been on my mind for weeks now. My fiancé and I have been dating for over three years. I love him and he loves me too. We are physically attracted to each other. We’re both catholic but since I graduated, during my service year I gave my life to Christ, got saved and left the Catholic Church. So I’ve been a Pentecostal Christian since then. He on the other hand is still catholic. I subtly try to nudge him to consider getting saved, i.e acknowledging Christ as lord and savior and becoming born again but he is content with his laidback Christian life.

Earlier this year, he asked to meet my parents and I let him. My parents like him especially because my younger sis is married and they have been waiting for me too. They’re glad I’ve someone. However, after the introduction,I regret it. I’m now certain that he’s not the one. I think about my spiritual life and how lukewarm he is about the things of God, I think about kids and how we’ll raise the, with such differing views about God and I’m discouraged. I feel like I’m settling because he checks all the boxes on the checklist of physical attributes. Another mistake I made is, I didn’t pray about this decision and that worries me because anything that involves him,I just act with pausing to ask God, but I always ask God about other aspects of my life. So it’s like my associating with him is a minus for my spiritual life and that’s a huge cause for concern.

At this point, I want to tell my parents I am not convinced it’s him but I’m afraid of the disappointment this will cause. *sigh* I’ll appreciate your thoughts, comments, criticisms...

I have said this before and I will say it again! An average Northerner is affiliated to Terrorism as far it’s been carried out under the name of Islam. That is why you don’t hear a single words of condemnation from them when you read or hear News about Fulani killings. They will never say anything because they believe it’s being done as Allah commands. I have never heard a Muslim in this country talk about or condemn Fulani killings on innocent lives, not once! And now Bandits! Gumi, Nigeria Army, Buhari and his presidency are all mad! The Entire North stinks of Terrorism!
