First time posting a message. Does anyone have any idea when we would hear back from DPR regarding recruitment? Also, what is the nature of the job as I applied for role of graduate geologist? Is it as technical as a geologist working for a service/producing company or is it more of crafting regulations?

Ok here’s my contribution . Nairaland has been helpful thus far . This is the least I can do . So I wrote the first test sometime in April, and then went for the first interview in July . After that it was radio silence from fidelity until last week Wednesday when they called and told me to come around for a follow up interview on Thursday . We were like 14 on that day and from what I gathered , another set was interviewed on Friday . Fast forward to Monday morning , I received an email that I should proceed for Medicals . I met a few people at the hospital as well , and now I’m waiting for the next step , I honestly don’t know . What I do know is that they are calling people for interviews. One guy said he got an email on Monday to come for second interview on Wednesday . So I am guessing they are doing it in batches again . Which is totally understandable since it’s the MD or ED you’re meeting . And those guys are always busy with one thing or the other . You can’t always rush them . Good luck to everyone .

Hmm after I bombarded my brain with current affairs and deep geology. Omo I entered. I was asked to introduce myself which I did quite well. They took a look at my CV and documents. I was asked for the full names of dpr chairman. Chai. I knew just 2. Was then asked how many sedimentary basins in Nigeria. I answered correctly. I was then asked to name five. I did correctly. But instead of Niger Delta Basin, I said Niger Delta Trough. Though I got the rest. Was then asked to name a dpr office in each geopolitical zones. For my mind I say see Gbege o I listed 5 correctly but missed the last one. I mistakenly put Katsina in NE. Was then asked if I had any sibling in dpr which I said I don't. D man was like but you don't really have post school geology experience. He then said that it not a problem since I'm coming as a graduate trainee and not eh.

Have the interviews finished ,so I can share my experience and have u guys assess my chances. Kinda tensed

HRtechnique:
I observed the following during the interview;

1. Questions were simple - They expect you to know those simple things.
2. They checked how you entered and greeted.
3. They were looking for lies in your eyes.
4. They checked conversation - How you were able to communicate.
5. They checked interest in the position itself - passion for the role.

If you were able to do all the above correctly ESPECIALLY with the grace of God, then you should be fine.
The other things are Federal character, number of availability of position, competition etc.

Who else has an idea of what they were looking for at the interview?

Very true. For someone like me who studied geology, I'm very certain i answered my questions with @ least 80% accuracy, but like u said, there are various parameters used. I Remain hopeful

Na so during test dem drop questions upandan. God help me. I wrote on d first day. and was still invited for interview. Some will still drop questions here. There's nothing one can do. I don't support it but if it is done ,I go cut cane flog dem? No more insults. Everyone do ur best after all like someone rightly said, answers to questions is just a fraction of the parameters used in d total computation of scores.

Was asked during the interview if I had a sibling in dpr. Don't know weda to be optimistic or weird

Fidelity Bank Launches $500 Million Eurobond to Boost Operations
Fidelity Bank Plc thursday announced plans to launch up to $500 million Senior Unsecured Medium Notes (Eurobond) as well as a tender offer to purchase the banks’ outstanding $300 million 6.875 per cent Notes due May 9, 2018.
Fidelity Bank disclosed this in a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). According to the bank, it intends to list the $500 million on the Irish Stock Exchange with the expectations that the notes will be traded on its regulated market.
The bank said it intended to issue the notes directly but will retain the flexibility to substitute issuer with an offshore special purpose vehicle (SPV), where market conditions require and allow for such prior to the maturity of the notes.
Fidelity Bank Plc said the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), have given ‘no objection’ approvals to the transaction.
According to the bank, the net proceeds of the notes will be used to finance the tender offer of existing notes and for its general banking purposes.
“The bank will pay the net proceeds from the notes issuance after settling the existing notes in foreign currency or converted into Naira, depending on the bank’s requirement from time to time,” it said.
Market analysts said, if successfully raised, the new funds would help to boost the bank’s performance going forward.
Fidelity Bank had ended the half year to June 30, 2017 with an impressive financial results, posting growth in key performance indicators.
The bank posted gross earnings of N85.8 billion in H1 of 2017, up 22 per cent from N70.2 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2016. Interest income grew by 27.8 per cent, while interest expenses grew faster by 48 per cent to hit N38.2 billion compared with 25.7 billion in 2016. As a result, net interest income stood at N34.7 billion in 2017 compared with N31.2 billion, indicating a rise of 11 per cent. Impairment charges remained flat at N4.8 billion in 2017 as against N4.79 billion in 2016.
Despite the high inflationary trend, the bank reduced operating expenses by 1.7 per cent to N30.9 billion, from N31.4 billion in the corresponding period of 2016.
Consequently, profit before tax (PBT) rose by 66.6 per cent to N10.2 billion, from N6.131 billion in 2016, while profit after tax (PAT) improved by 65.6 per cent from N5.457 billion to N9.04 billion in 2017. Earnings per share similarly improved to 31 kobo as against 19 kobo in 2016.
