Amaechi flees rivers state out of fear of wike's probe https://www.nairaland.com/2344989/rotimi-amaechi-flees-rivers-state |
PDPwayoo:Free the young man you bully! So a fifteen year old cannot have an opinion? And for your information this young man has better opinion that an old goat like you. |
IzonOwei:The truth is julius berger cannot do all roads and besides they are very expensive though worth it, In Akwa Ibom JB only did major roads ie the dualized roads, flyovers and major bridges. but small projects were handled by small but competent companies like Setraco, Stemco, Raycon, Nigerpet etc. Even some of the dualized roads were done by Gitto, CCECC etc too. Mr wike good start but don't just use JB alone but use quality construction firms with pedigree and not political contractors that are set up by politicians to dube the state. Whats more important to the success of operation zero potholes in Akwa Ibom was that the state Govt also had their own monitoring team that was headed by engineering technocrats who made sure that all the contractors stick to specification of the contract. the monitoring team besides being manned by experts also had their own Lab where construction quality were tested and all the companies knew that as soon as they got one road or project done based on specification of the state govt. they will get another construction contract failure mean no more job in the state that's why they all worked hard and delivered on time. |
Gov. Amaechi has relocated to Abuja out of fear that the new Governor of Rivers state,Nyesom Wike who was Sworn in today will probe the corruption in Rivers state under Amaechi watch for the last 8 years. Mr Amaechi is living in fear because he is aware of all the looting that went on while he was governor and is said to be lobbying in Abuja to squash all cases of Criminal probe by the news gov.of rivers state into the affairs of the state while he was gov. Wike has promised Rivers people that Amaechi Administration will be probed and all Stolen properties of the state recovered. |
Akpabio is working, others governors are busy embezzling. this man has commissioned in just two weeks more projects than many state governments commission in 8 yrs. Kudos to The Action Governor. |
I hope this does not collapse like other kano bridge the one that killed 7 people recently. |
Dollyak:You mean the unpaid civil servants in Osun who have already proceeded on an indefinite strike? |
Dollyak:Nonsense jealous hack. If you want high allocation develop your resources last i checked Osun state has the highest deposit of Gold in Nigeria, Who is mining it? or are you waiting on FG for everything or getting jealous of other state/ region resources. |
Dollyak:What resources/Revenue does osun state contribute to Nigeria federal purse? |
Dollyak:How old are you? pardon my asking you seem to want to engage in a redundant argument in the light of evidence to the contrary. Its not difficult to now the difference between Budget and Revenue even your dictionary can help you its not rocket science you know. Again If say Ekiti which is said to be the state that receives the lowest allocation form FG decides to make a budget of N500b when its actual revenue is 40bn of what consequence is the unrealistic N500bn budget? Note it is not illegal to make any plans any state can budget $100bn if they like but it wont change their actual revenue. |
ricsman:So who is to blame for Amaechis loss of focus? Amaechi is a human being and he has what is called choice, he choosed to fight jonathan instead of concentrating on improving rivers state, he let his ego get the better of him he has himself to blame for the problems he caused. leadership is about being able to manage your failures and disappointment anyone can manage success but its a great leader that can wade through his problems and not pull everything down because his ego is hurt. Do you think Akpabio and other gov.who stayed the course with GEJ did not have disagreements with GEJ? They stayed the course because did not allow their personal interest to override party/national interest. that's the greatest failure of Amaechi. He is too imature and emotional for my liking. lets watch how he will survive in APC when the real politics starts and he doesn't get what he want in APC? |
Dollyak:Budget is a plan of action based on projected revenue! Its revenue that determines the wealth of the state not budget. To break it down, budget is like a plan a woman has to have her wedding gown flowing 100m with 10 bridesmaid holding the helm of her gown every 10m but it is her income/ revenue that will actually determine how long the gown will flow. Budgets are just projections not actual revenue. |
Dollyak:Lagos is the richest state in Nigeria, stop lying state funds is not just FG allocation its FG Allocation + IGR Lagos IGR is greater than The FG allocation to Akwa Ibom. |
ricsman:If you are from Rivers state i will Advice you to take a trip to Akwa Ibom and then go back to port harcourt and see things for your self and you will have the answer to your question. I personally have no qualms with either state progressing remember It is only one bridge that separates Akwa Ibom from Rivers state so what is good for Rivers is Good for Akwa Ibom and vice versa. But the truth is that Amaechi has dropped the ball big time . I hope wike will take rivers state to an enviable height. |
ricsman:You are comparing apple to oranges, the mere fact that you are comparing Rivers state to Akwa Ibom means that Akpabio wins because there should be no bases for comparism but Akpabio has given you the reason to do the comparims based on his performance. Rivers state is the oil capital of Africa not west Africa not Nigeria . Rivers state is the second richest state in terms of FG allocation + Internally generated revenue. second only to lagos state Rivers state has been a major African port city before Nigeria was Amalgamated in 1914 Rivers State houses the biggest LNG in Africa Rivers state is the capital of the SS and the Third most important city in Nigeria after Abuja and lagos. And the list goes on and on for Rivers state But Amaechi failed to build on the legacy of the great state and instead chose to fight his brother and betray him out of power instead of using rivers money to develop rivers as akpabio is doing he chose to use their funds to fight GEJ. Akwa Ibom Should not even be mentioned when rivers state is concerned but fortunately Akwa Ibom is catching up because of the visionary leadership Gov. Akpabio. Akwa Ibom the once backwater of the SS has become a desirable bride all due to the power of visionary leadership. The Issue is not about the states, its about the quality of leadership provided by Amaechi and Akpabio in the last 8yrs in their respective states. On this regards I will give Akpabio 95% and Amaechi 45% and the 45% is for his effort in his first term. Now here is a food for thought for you? Try to imagine that Akpabio was the governor of rivers state in the last 8 yrs! where do you think Rivers state would be today with Akpabio's visionary leadership? I was a critic of this project because it took too long to complete in my estimation. but seeing the quality delivered i congratulate the gov. for a job well done. |
Thank God and gov. Akpabio for using the state funds to bring this ultra morden hospital to Akwa Ibom. In the past these kind of hospital was only seen by Akwa Ibom people that travelled abroad, but now a comman man in the state has hope for better health since he can now stroll in here for help if he gets sick. God bless Akwa Ibom God bless Nigeria God bless Akpabio

Ameachi is afraid of probe, he know he is as guilt as sin, on stealing the resources of rivers state. Wike must probe amaechi. |
Turkey-based multinational brand, Beko, has said it is building its first multimillion-dollar household appliances manufacturing plant in Nigeria in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State. More and more foreign investors are attracted to Nigeria as a preferred investment destination in West Africa even as local business owners complain that it is difficult for businesses to thrive in the country. In addition to Pepkor, a South African clothing chain, Beko which recently opened its second showroom in Lagos, is another multinational brand that is making plans to establish more outlets in Nigeria. The company recently announced plans to open seven more showrooms in the country before the end of 2015. According to the Corporate Business Development and Marketing Manager, Beko Nigeria, Mr. Inyang Umoh Ekere, though the company has been in Africa for years, the owners consider Nigeria to be the gateway to the subregion and an important player in their expansion bid. He said, “Our presence here is to proceed from here to the entire subregion. We intend to rule the market. We have been in Nigeria for many years and what we are currently doing is rebranding and reintroducing our products into the market. “Our target market is upwardly mobile young Nigerians. That is why our catchphrase is, ‘powered by smart generation.’ Most Nigerians are tending towards the direction of good and smart products that can perform multiple functions in one application. A statement from the company described Beko as a domestic appliance and consumer electronics brand of Arcelik A.S controlled by Koc. According to the statement, the company has won several international awards mostly as energy-efficient home appliance manufacturer. “It is the second largest market for household appliance in the United Kingdom, controlling 14 per cent of the cooler and seven per cent of the washing market in England,” the statement read. http://watchdognews.net/turkish-hous...actory-in-uyo/ |
psucc:To be fair Akwa Ibom has a very low external debt which makes the total debt less when both external and internal debt are considered. |
Lord have mercy! O - boy see debts! this governors dey kill Nigeria moderators front page please |
