synergycom19:I pray that GEJ wins to avoid trouble. Buhari is already seen by majority of niger delta people to be an ethnic bigot who during his chairmanship of petroleum trust fund sited 80% of projects in the North even when 100% of the resources came from the Niger delta. They will not negotiate with Buhari, he is no Yar'adua who was a nationalist to the core. |
Abagworo:You are living in Denial you don't know what guerrilla war fare is about, where you cant differentiate between the civilians and the militant. You seem to exaggerate the strength of the US military they've been bogged down in Iraq for almost a decade now an irAQ IS STILL IN crisis as we speak, how about Afghanistan, Libya, etc where the US armed forces are unable to quell the crisis and those countries do not even have 1/2 the population of Nigeria to manage. Nigeria should try and save themselves by giving Jonathan a second term to avoid crisis in the delta in addition to the Boko haram crisis. |
ALAYORMII:Well that the sad reality called Nigeria, Its up for us to choose the lesser evil. |
ALISMILE:Nobody is voting Jonathan out , GEJ will win. But if there is rigging up North or any funny business that seeks to rigout jonathan then the Niger delta will boil and it wont be pretty. |
Crieff:Its only the blind that cannot see what the joint meeting between niger delta ex militants, Massop and OPC is about. That's the complete fusion of all the militants gps in SW,SE and SS. They are planning to balance the threat of the northern radicals if there is any real or precieved injustice in this election Nigeria will boil either way, i prefer that Niger delta do not boil because of its strategic impotence to Nigeria. The north is already at war we can handle the war in the north as our military is beginning to but if the delta boils there will be no Nigeria. |
ALAYORMII:The north are already fighting Jonathan since he became president via boko haram, while boko haram was raging Nigeria became the biggest economy in Africa because the north east is economic liliput. When niger delta which is the economic powerhouse of Nigeria boils in the event of a jonathan loss all of us will starve and we will all regrate antagonizing the delta,4yrs is nothing if we can all leave in peace, let Gej complete his second term and then the north can do their own term so peace can reign and Nigeria survive . The Niger Delta boys are no joke they can paralyze Nigeria and they have done it before. |
Flets:You are very right in your assessment. Niger Delta crisis is unavoidable if Buhari wins. It Will bebe the end of Nigeria as we know it. I hope. Gej wins to avoid economic doom to Nigeria |
Shocker: Attah, Etiebet finally more against President Jonathan In what appears to be a tactical move to ditch President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, two members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Arc. Victor Attah and Atuekong Don Etiebet have declared for the opposition All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State. The duo made the switch during a rally held by the Campaign Organization of the APC Governorship Candidate Obong Umana Okon Umana held at the Ibibio Park grounds in Uyo Capital city, on Saturday, March 21, 2015. The defection of the PDP chieftains however did not come as a surprise to pundits, as both men(Attah/Etiebet), have been hobnobbing with the opposition for sometime now and ave been openly engaged in anti party activities in the build-up to the 2015 General Elections, following their grudge over the defeat of their preferred Governorship aspirants by the PDP Standard Bearer, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel at the December 8, 2014 Primaries held at the Nest of Champions. At the APC rally, Obong Attah and Etiebet respectively, raised the hands of Obong Umana and stated that, they are no longer interested in the Party, PDP and her candidate, but have found an alternative in the opposition party. Commenting on the development, a public affairs analyst, Mr Ifiok Anderson, dismissed the move as another futile journey to nowhere. Mr Anderson recalled that, earlier in 2011, Obong Attah had similarly raised the hands of the then Governorship Candidate of the opposition, Action Congress of Nigeria, now defunct, Senator John Akpan Udoedehe, but that did not change the fortunes of the latter, as he was roundly defeated by the incumbent, Governor Akpabio in the 2011 Governorship polls. Mr Anderson argued that, Attah had allowed his morbid hatred for his successor to blind him, even into joining forces with his erstwhile, Commissioner of Finance, Obong Umana Okon Umana who betrayed him. He however added that, the people of Akwa Ibom will make their choice on who should govern them. http://newsdayngonline.com/?p=4191

pazienza:Are you from Ndoki? |
pazienza:All Akwa Ibom towns in the border with Abia State are bilingual same goes for the border towns in Abia state with akwa ibom. Dont be confused by the language dexterity of the dwellers of those border towns. Itu and Uruan LGA which borders Calabar in Cross river state have predominant Efik Speakers, that doesn't make them Efik People even though their language of choice is Efik. They are ibibio people to the core. Akpabuyo, Odukpani etc is inhabited with Ibibio speakers and ancestral ibibio people but they are in cross river state and most will deny their ibibio ancestry even though their language of choice is Ibibio and they all bear ibibio names. My point is that people at borders be it state or nation have a lot of similarities with their neighbours. |
pazienza:Do you also know that there are many indigenous Ibibio people in abia state who speak ibibio, bear ibibio names their towns and villages have ibibio names and have ibibio ancestry? The present day arochukwu and all its people have ibibio blood flowing in them and are of ibibio ancestry. Akwa Ibom people don't go around claiming Arochukwu as theirs even though every arochukwu man and women Know of a fact that they are indigenous ibibio people. Since there are ibibio speaking communities and people of ibibio ancestry in Abia State, may be Ibibios should claim Arochukwu, and all ibibio speaking communities in Abia State as their land following your logic! For your information there is no oil producing area in Ukanafun or any local government in ikot ekpene senatorial district in which your imaginary igbo people of Ukanafun belong. |
pazienza:where are they which local government. stop lying |
@ujoinme where are you nah? Since you stopped contributing to this thread the thread don die, Abeg come back o my brother your contribution is highly needed due to popular demand. |
AlfaSeltzer:Stop lying the only people in Akwa Ibom who speak Igbo besides igbo people that reside in Akwa Ibom are those in Akwa Ibom villages that border igboland in Abia State. And the Igbo villages in the border towns of Akwa Ibom Also all speak Ibibio fluently, those people are bilingual as is common with any border towns/villages. Akwa Ibom people have their own distinct language the most widely spoken being Ibibio, others languages in Akwa Ibom Include Annang,Oro,Ekid, obolo,Efik etc. Igbo is not one of them |
The present South east states (Igboland) Should be called South Central The Present South South States (Southern minorities) Should be called South East. The present South West States (yorubaland) Should retain its name South West. This will balance all controversies like we have in the North. |
