It is ANAMBRA state. Abia state is very far far from being organized. Have been to Aba recently, if yes you had denounce your Igboness. No offence meant. Do not be fooled by pictures posted here by the OP. He has already made up his mind to ridicule a particular state here. I think he should be disregarded. s Onitsha in the SE has one of the major concentration of population just like lagos in the SW; so that been said some things about Onitsha are excusable just like in Lagos. But I know that from the news I have heard about roads being done. I read and seen the Head Bridge Onitsha being dualised to 8 lanes, I also read that a flyover is being constructed at Nkpor also in Onitsha to easy traffic. So tell me of any project that is going on in Aba or any part of Abia state of this magnitude? On my way from Uyo enroute PH last Jan, I almost wept on the demeaning and sorry state of Aba. It is horrible and terrible to say the least. |

It is ANAMBRA |
I think you are the one that need diagnosis to determine the level of deterioration in mental body. Maybe its only chino that comes from Anambra or has anything to do with Anambra. Do you think chino loves Anambra more than other, am from Akwaibom but I have seen the development strides in Anambra state. The single FDI that ran into billions was attracted to Anambra state by the governor, am talking of SABMILLER the project will be commission anytime this year. Its a major investment that can boast the economy of not just Anambra alone, but the SE. To tell you that I have more fiancee ties in Awka, I was amazed the day I stumbled on a massive/mix development project as this. This giant project first of its kind east of the Niger. http://lganidsmall.com/index.html and presently the contractors are pacing the work to beat the Turnkey deadline. This is the type of projects that made Dubai thick. Go check. And a governor is bringing it to Nigeria, I believe it takes vision and tall dream. This LG investment in Anambra is capable of creating thousands of jobs. If all the states in SE are going this direction I think is healthy, because economic independence is what every economy is craving for. I will be in Awka around August, I hope to get you some updates. Like as I said development does not end by tarring roads alone. Its even imperative that government is touching all sectors at the same time. |
We have severally trashed this matter over and over on NL. Abia state cannot be compared to any state in Nigeria because of its notorious and horrible outlook. Its one state that has all the ills that can bedevil any system. Am from Akwaibom state, I schooled in Abia state, I visits Awka regularly to meet my fiancee who lives and works there. I have been to Aba and Onitsha on number of occasions. I must say that Aba is the disgrace of the Igbo nation, as I said earlier Aba has no equals, its a complete in a class of it own mess. Onitsha is one of the major metropolitan cities in Nigeria like lagos, PH and Kano. Onitsha has one of the most organized layouts and all it needs is constant maintenance of the road due heavy vehicular movement in the city which can only be compared to Lagos and PH. Awka on the other hand has good hospitality, with good number of estates springing up almost on daily basis; in term of organization and expansion I give it to Awka, because Umahia is relatively small I think is about the size of half of Awka. There are good number of estates in (Abuja est, Iyi-Agu est, Udoka est, Ngozika est, Light of the Nation, Liberation est, there are also other estates that are being mapped out. You cannot say the same for Umahia, umahia does not have the half of hotel and hospitality in Awka. Umahia also does not have the half of housing in Awka; I think with the implementation of UN Masterplan, Awka will know no bounds in healthy development as being witnessed today. Even my state governor Akpabio has to do some roads that overlapped into Abia state. Abia state does is heavily bedeviled by bad leaders. And beside Anambra has number of natural endowments and infrastructure that Abia does not enjoy. Firstly Anambra has the largest market in Nigeria, Anambra has River Port to enable commerce and above all Anambra has the major cash inflow and outflow due to Onitsha/Nnewi that can only be compared to Lagos and Rivers in Nigeria. Anambra has recently attracted number of foreign investors who are now building there facilties there, how many has Abia state brought since 1999, if not what is then what is development, please let call a spade a spade. That is it. |
I go for Awka, Enugu, Yenogoa, Uyo, Calabar because of the quiet and serene nature of these place for relaxation. PH, Onitsha will be the most viable for economic reason outside lagos. |
It doesn't take anything to say the truth. Thank you onlytruth the king. Its my honor |
Its well |
The only bane of Igbos is sectionalization and outsiders are taking advantgate of this ill. If only the Igbos could unite, they will declare anything today in Nigeria and it will be. As a neutral person from SS (Akwaibom) I will still make it clear once again the order of city ranking in the SE. Having been to all the SE state capitals in the last one. Like as I said earlier, I schooled in Abia, my fiancee lives and works in Awka, Owerri is where I sojourn and pass usually on my way to PH via Onitsha, then also Enugu. And alot of things affects development, like enugu benefited more from the then eastern, Owerre follows. I have also seen healthy and planned development springing up in Awka as at January I visited. Am a passionate lover of Peter Obi because of the way and manner his manages resourses not like every day Nigeria politician and governor. I have seen it all, the ranking is thus: 1- Enugu 2- Owerri 3- Awka 4- Umahia and then closely trailed by Abakaliki The above ranking may not last forever, because some cities may overtake the other because of many other factors ranging from FDIs and internal inputs. |
Some Anambra Igbos are getting upset with Imo, Abia and Enugu Igbos stating the obvious facts that Awka is the least developed state capital just like Abakaliki. Umuahia was built with a master grid just like Owerri. It is actually a nice city. But Enugu and Owerri are at the top of South-East states followed by Umuahia. Awka and Abakaliki is last.[/quote You don't have any point. SE is my next home, I studied in Abia state, my fiancee works in Awka, I have visited Enugu and Owerri at one point or the other. So I can positively rank the SE states. As an outsider I can state categorically without any bias. What is that you seen in Umahia? This is a state that is riddled with disorganization. Am from Akwaibom state so I can tell you that Abia state does not have anywhere liveable within its boundaries. Have you passed the express linking Aba and Umahia recently, the town has an image of a mere provicial district. Even when one is passing thru the town its only the abia tower NNPC filling station that will tell you that you have gotton into a place. Umahia to the best of my knowledge is not even suppose to be called state capital, Aba presently is a shodow of itself. The top cities in the east at the moment are Enugu, Owerri followed by Awka and then Umahia and Abakaliki. |
I have followed this thread with keen interest, but am here to settle this matter once and for once. Ranking the SE state capitals has alot to be considered: Here is the ranking. Having traveled to all these states and I know that we have to be sincere in our judgment. Am a neutral person from Akwaibom. (1) Enugu (2) Owerri (3) Awka (4) Umuahia and trailed closely by Abakaliki |
This act is very typical of Yorubas, including incest. Shameless pigs. |
ak47mann:Nwanne mu kedu ije? Yooroabas are really the bane of this country. Minus yoroobas Nigeria will be a better place |
Yarobas are terrible ritualists, the other day the Oba of lagos violated and killed a corp member inside his palace. Am sure they must have jailed him by cos I heard he collapsed in court the other day. ![]() |
This act is typical of Yorubas. They are the bane of Nigerian nation, even Sanusi has confirmed it. |
dayokanu:Achebe is the Africas greatest living legend, soyenka is not anywhere near Achebe. Achebe's book is standard curricular in Nigerias and African schools. Achebe's Things Fall Apart has been translated in over 70 languages of the world and has sold over 7 million copies. Achebe does not need Noble Prize, its the Noble Prize that needs Achebe to legitimize itself. Am sure Noble Committee will be regretting ever giving a prize to soyenka because they must have realized he was never qualified to receive the honor have seen Achebe's soaring profile around the world. |
A 70-year-old man, simply identified as Baba Sunday has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl in Lagos. The old man, who is currently facing interrogation at the Ilaje Police Station, was said to have taken the girl to a popular hotel (name withheld) in Bariga where he defiled the girl. The suspect was said to have booked the hotel room for N10,000 before luring the girl to the place. The hotel managers did not suspect foul play when they initially saw the little girl going inside the room with the man, who is old enough to be her great grand parent. The receptionist in the hotel was said to have become worried when she checked the time and later discovered that the time was far spent and there was no mature girl that came with the man. A staffer of the hotel decided to eaves-drop and allegedly heard the little girl pleading with the old man to let her go as her aunty would be waiting for her. The hotel manager was said to have contacted the Police, who stormed the place and compelled the man to open the door. The policemen were said to have been shocked when they met the girl, who told them she was eight years old. A police source at Ilaje Police Station told Daily Sun that the little girl confessed that the old man had been having carnal knowledge of her for a long time . The police officer said the girl told them the old man had taken her twice to a primary school where he slept with her. The source said on the day the old man was arrested, he had lied to the girl that he was going to buy some provision, which he wanted the girl to deliver to his family as they live on the same area. The policeman said the girl followed the suspect to the hotel room where he allegedly defiled her. He said the girl had been taken to the general hospital where doctors conducted some medical test on her and that the police were still waiting for the medical report before proper action would be taken on the man. The little girl’s aunty, who simply identified herself as Ifeoma wants the police to bring the old man to justice. “The girl in question is my late elder sister’s child. The girl is too young and fragile to face the kind of psychological trauma she has been subjected by Baba Sunday.” She said the only thing that would appease the family is when Baba Sunday would be made to face the law. When contacted for comment, the state Police spokesperson, Mr Samuel Jinadu said he had not been briefed on the matter by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station. |
This is typical of Yorubas always bringing shame to Nigeria. silly tribe |
