Fix the Camshat and the Air/Fuel ratio (upstream oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold) codes 1st.
It will sort out the hesitation and excessive fuel consumption on the car.

Now I am dumbfounded with the erratic nature of the transmission. At startup, apart from the hard shift, it works well. If I shutdown the engine and restart, it goes into limp mode. Remains like that for hours. Check engine light comes up and code is p0780 and manufacturers control. I clear codes still erractic, then after a couple of start and stop it is back normal and remains normal

Scan with a proper scanner (not a code reader) that would give you a non generic code

Now my own steering rack is still normal. Yet the fluid leaks. If I fill the power steering fluid compartment, I can use it for almost 2 months before it goes low again. My steering is still as normal as it should be. I even drove it down to the east from lagos and back during the Xmas holiday. Unless I tell u, u wont know I have leaks. Is the solution changing the rack too? Can it be fixed?

Where is the leak coming from? CV axle?
Can be fixed by replacing the seals though.

Thanks for asking. I got a working solenoid, car no longer throws p0756. The transmission worked well for a couple of days then started harsh shift from P to D or R. Yesterday, I am back at D light blinking, tranny hangs at 2, occasionally shifts to 3 ironically, no code. Before this started, I had to rev high to shift to 3. Was thinking of changing the gear 3 pressure switch but now, I am at sea again.

I'm suspecting the hard shift happens only when cold right?
Those transmission have seals in them that fails and makes the transmission act erratically.
The issue might not be externally but within the transmission and might require an invasive repairs (my assumption).
Rescan and see if you have any code.
Also run a live data on the transmission and see if the solenoids shifts on and off when you shift the gear. If it does, then that confirms my earlier take on mechanical damage within the transmission.

Have you fixed the transmission issue?
Kindly update the house if replacing the solenoid was the only part needed for the fix.

You didn't state what car it is and engine option.
Symptoms looks like fuel delivery issues.
Check for fuel pressure when hot and replace fuel pump if pressure is low.

Please i need help with my Honda Civic 2008, Some times in the morning when we start the vehicle and engage the gear, it have this very rough jerking, and when this happens during movement you would notice a bit of jerking when the gears are changing. However, once movement have being made for like 10 mins thereabout and the engine is restarted, everything go smoothly. No jerking, change between gears is very smooth.

We have scanned it and there are no codes. The oil is well guaged.. its a on and off thing.. Maybe once or twice in a week.

Please help

Check the filter if it's clogged.
Replace it if you've never done that before.

Good morning everyone, I scanned my 2009 Honda Accord EX 2.4L K24Z3 engine with an OBDII... These are the results. Prior to that I noticed that my car had poor acceleration especially when I turned on the AC. Along the line it started burning my AC compressor. I got tired and decided to forget about the AC, but now I want to fix the AC coz of the dry season. Now I noticed my car consumes fuel, and also has low compression. Please guys what can I do to fix these problems

What's the repair history on the engine and ECU?
For the codes
1. You'd get that code if they've tapped a wire to send power to your ECU, especially if you had issues with starting the car in the past (flashing key signs)
2. System too rich is a symptom that needs further diagnosis to find out the cause. Could be anything, but have it at the back of your mind that your car is consuming petrol.
3. The 3rd code is a generic code. Could be an issue with the rocker arm and not the timing. Use a better scanner to pull out Honda specific code.
4. Socket for the temperature sensor on the radiator is not connected or broken and fan running constantly.
All issues are fixable and does not necessarily mean engine is dead.
For the compressor burning, confirm your AC thermostat is still working, and that your pressure line has not been welded at all. Any weld on the pressure line would kill the compressor over time. It's like running and breathing with a straw.

The buyer was different from the person who sold the engine to me. The parts were dismantled and sold out on a scale to scrappers. There is a yard close to the waterside that specializes in dismantling of bad engines. I learnt a lot from my visit that day.

Please guys, I just got a gs350 2007...it was misfiring on cylinder 6...I was getting 2 codes...p0206 and p0306...

I changed all spark plugs and it dint rectify...I moved the ignition coil and still got that same p0206 on cylinder 6...I finally serviced all 12 injectors...and discovered that one of the injectors at cylinder 6 had a loose wire....

I fixed the wire and the car is now very stable but now the new issue is that the injector on that cylinder is pouring excess fuel..and it is now affecting the starting of the car and a blue smoke now coming off the exhaust...I know it means burning oil too

So please I need a lexus mechanic in lagos...I stay at berger

How did you get to the conclusion that the injector is pouring excess fuel and that's what is responsible for starting issues?

That's quite pricey. 700k is very high for engine replacement.

I bought same engine and gear in Oyingbo two months back, and I didn't spend up to that 700k for both because I traded my old engine and gear for almost 280k. Avoid ladipo at all cost, especially for Honda vehicles.

Let me give you this advice, find a way to get that car to Oyingbo, you will get everything done lesser and neatly. Those extra cost you will incure in logistics will be eliminated. Also, at Oyingbo your engine old engine will be traded in for the new one and you will pay lesser. Mechanics in Oyingbo charge 50k standard price for engine replacement.

I also didn't know any engine seller in Oyingbo but someone on this thread once recommended a guy called "UCHE BIG HEAD 08033655246 08084445246" and this was the same guy I also used based on that recommendation, without any fear. He imports his engine directly and you will see how untouched the engines are. I was impressed with his level of honesty. I ended buy both engine and gear from him and he also helped me sourced some other things I needed at a very cheap rate directly from importers.

If you don't have a mechanic contact in Oyingbo I can share you mine who has been helping me fix my Honda Accord since the first day I bought it and he also did the engine and gear replacement neatly. His name is KOKU 09165639464 07019353345.

So, I've finally done my compression test and here my numbers
Cylinder 1 = 175psi
Cylinder 2 = 165psi
Cylinder 3 = 170psi
Cylinder 4 = 170psi
The numbers are very good. According to Honda, anything above 135psi and with not more than 28psi difference between the highest and lowest number is very good.
This proves I don't have any of the following problems
*Damaged or worn valves and seats
• Damaged cylinder head gaskets
• Damaged or worn piston rings
• Damaged or worn piston and cylinder bore
Basically, my engine block and cylinder top is in good shape.
I also noticed that the spark plug in cylinder 1 was black, against the brownish color on the other cylinders. This means suboptimal combustion. So I decided to service all the injectors.
Is there any other thing I can check?
I don't have the device to check fuel trim, but I will get it soon.

Not necessarily, but the cylinder head would definitely come off the block if the leak is from the gasket as suspected.

I ma having this weird issue. Don't know if someone else has experienced it also before .

If I park uphill, like park with the engine inclined upward, after some hours of it cooling down . The engine will fail to start, it will crank but won't start. If I park on a plain level, car will start fine , once.

I have tried this 4 times and same result. It just started happening this week.

So, what happened that would not start the csr uphill is that the spargplugs become water wet. Cleaning g the sparkplugs and blowing of residual water left in the engine will immediately start the car. What could be the reason for this?
This only happened when parked uphill and left to cool for a while. Let's say 4 to 5 hours .

There's water ingress into the combustion chamber.
Would be difficult to tell from where and how remotely.
