I think he didn’t do a thorough check initially to ascertain where d issue was coming from. He only use d sound from d compressor to chop money because what he changed was just a small rubber which he claimed was d seal. Na d fear of not tampering with other things if d dashboard is loose dey worry me
You don't detect leaks with your bare ears.
You need to pull vacuum from each individual components (lines, condenser, compressor, and evaporator) to know where the leak is coming from.

Steering is a bit better
Bled as advised and did alignments... The stiffening has reduced (but not disappeared).

Also, there's a squealing sound coming from the front tires, like the rim is rubbing against the caliper (It's not the brakes).
Fix the power steering pressure switch issue I told you about and you should have improved performance.
The squealing noise could be from your brake pads or any metal parts around the pads rubbing against the disk.

Don't leave money in banks

Reduce daily transfer limit to bearest minimum

If you gonna leave money in bank, make sure it is a first generation bank
Definitely not going to work for a business person.

Good evening boss

Pls my car started acting up this evening, vibrates when idle on drive, and picking up is sluggish, if I press the turtle after being idle, rpm get to 2 sometimes before moving reasonably. However after sometime, it stopped vibrating on idle, but the movement is still not solid.

I don't have a scanner would have scanned.

Corrolla 09

Meet a technician with a scanner to scan both engine and transmission

I live in a somewhat remote area. The mechs here don't know what is pressure testing of cooling system.

The mechanic has already suggested I should remove my thermostat which I have rejected already.

Since you said your fans are working fine, start with the simplest things you can see.
1. Check the radiator cover, if the rubbers are cracked and torn, change it.
2. If you find rusty residue any where in your cooling line, then know you have leaks from there.
3. Check the radiator fins. If clogged that light cannot penetrate through, then it's bad and needs replacement.

Good evening guys,

Please I need help concerning how to resolve my issue.

I drive a 2007 Toyota corolla.

Just today, I noticed that the temperature went slightly above the middle mark. So I stopped, opened the bonnet and observed that the coolant reservoir was overflowing with boiling coolant.

I had to put off the AC. And this made the overflowing coolant to recede. And temperature needle back to normal.

I met a roadside mech. Who bled the radiator this evening and said it would fix it. But I doubt that would fix the issue.

I don't like having overheating issues.

Please I would appreciate informed opinions on what could be causing the water in my reservoir to be boiling slightly and overflowing while the temperature needle rises a bit above normal.

Just to add, my fan is blowing well.
Physical inspection and pressure testing your cooling system by a competent hand would be your best bet.
So many factors could be responsible for it.

I replaced just the struts with prt struts. They are not low quality parts.

I took the car for alignment today to see if alignment was causing the clunky sounds. The alignment man said based on his experience, the spider bearing (what our kazeems call Boris) was slacked for both sides. He said to replace them. I asked a technician if slacked or damaged spider bearings could cause both the clunky sounds and the vibration only I'm drive. Reverse is so silent I have to check if the car is still on by looking at the rpm.

But drive angry

A bad spider bearing will make a clunky sound when shifting from D to R and R to D.

why is my car kind of bouncing a bit, it started a week ago, so I had all four tyres replaced, I bought new front shocks last year november, the back shocks are not in great shape, the oil has leaked from both back shocks, however they still function well.
I doubt if the back shocks could be the culprit. My mechanic say him go fix am make I bring 80k to work on the back legs and shocks, but all my bearings and all are still brand new.

What could be the reason? Like i can feel every single bump and every sligtest change in road texture. It just started a week ago
Your shocks are bad.

God bless you for what you do. Please I need a clarification, my mechanic removed the thermostat in my car ( pontiac vibe 2004). He said we don't need it. Is it right? Secondly how can i check if the car airbag are intact. Also the temperature gets to the middle on the dash board about 5mins into driving.

Amen.
1. That's not true. If it's faulty you should replace.
2. A comprehensive scan should pick up an airbag code if there's an issue with it.
3. If your fan has not been tampered with, it's normal. But since your mechanic has removed the thermostat, I believe they must have tampered with the fan to make it run always. If that's the case then there's a problem somewhere.

Oh okay. I did not know this. I lost one of the tires that came with the car in a minor accident, so I got one tokunbo Good Year tire ( that’s the brand that came with it) to replace it. I only just noticed now that the tokunbo tire is All Seasons tire while the others are regular ones and both have different thread patterns. Could this be the reason for the noise generally?
I can't tell from here.

Thanks for your reply, however, fan works fine. Comes on only when engine is hot. The only thing is that ac compressor doesn't go off when engine is hot. It works continuously.

The idle sometimes gets to 1000 when the car has been driven for a while but the issue is the fuel consumption is really high. Half tank for 120km, though the car just moves within an estate, very short distances.
With a thermostat stuck open/ or not present coupled with very short trips, you don't expect to see good mpg.

2006 civic started having high rpm at idle, around 1400 rpm. I did a throttle body clean and relearn and it came down to 1,100.

My car still consumes fuel. I did a scan and it shows P0128, coolant temperature issues and P0507 idle control system issues.

I'm not sure the parts to change. Most mechanics are clueless and just guessing.
For your 1st code, your cars fan is running continuously when ignition is on and your thermostat is stuck open or has been removed. Replace thermostat and return fan to factory settings and that would be sorted out.
For the second code, drive the car for a while and observe if the idle will drop further downward while car is idling in P or N.

Do the kind of tires contribute to road noise? I mean can you get a much quieter ride if you use a specific kind of tires? If so, what kind of tires in Nigeria would that be?
Yes they do.
Buy all season tyres from major brands with rib tread pattern as they transfer lesser road noise unlike the ones with block patterns.

I have an observation. I jacked the other tyre up and the tyre rotate freely even with two fingers. But the driver side tyre is stocked once I accelerated and press the break. And switch off the car, with the car jacked up u CAN'Trotate the tyre. Should be locked up caliber by clogged brake Hose. I will visit a mechanic tomorrow to check.
Thought you said you've changed everything there is to change and you were sure they fixed them well?
If the tyre is not rotating, then your calliper is binding.
Take it for physical inspection as planned.

Good morning guys, I drive a Camry 2012 v6 se and after I did a scan he threw p0057(H02s heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor 2 and p2241(02 sensor positive control current low bank 2 sensor 1. I changed the bank 2 sensor1(not brand new denso but used denso 02 sensor purchase buy my mechanic from Ladipo market) which is the one close to the radiator fans on top of the engine but the bank 2 sensor 2 02 sensor was not change yesterday. I did a reset after change but the twocodes stills remains despite changing one of the sensor. Please could someone advise what to do. Also the catalyst is still intact
Testing with a multimeter is not a guarantee it would work.
As advised, replace the sensor. Or better still, drive the car to Ladipo and have them replace the sensor till you get the one that works.
Your best bet would be buying a brand-new OEM sensor.

I suspect your issues can be fixed easily yourself if you have the strength to turn the wheels from lock to lock repeatedly to bleed the system properly.

My Honda Accord 2008 2.4l car just had the engine sump replaced, and now car vibrates excessively in drive but not in park or reverse or neutral. I've had the mechanics check the engine mounts and the two that were damaged were replaced.

The car wasn't vibrating in drive like this before, and I'm at a loss as to the reason, as engine mounts seem to be fine all round.

Also, there's this dull clunky sound when turning the wheels at low speeds that started after the front absorbers were changed (the engine sump and strut change were done together). I don't know what the issue is also, as the shafts and ball joints have been checked and nothing was found.

Pls any ideas as to what these issues are and how to resolve them will be appreciated.

If the same mechanic that fixed the car and gave it those issues is the one carrying out the checks, then he might not find the faults.
Take your car to another competent technician to have it checked.

Yeah fixed it. Finally, I notice humming sound from the suspension which I suspect is the wheel bearings but the thing is I only hear this sound when I’m driving at a particular road. When I get on the main express, I hardly hear it. I have driven another car through that road and I don’t hear that noise. Now I’m confused. The road is a newly tarred road.
The fact that you drove another car through same road and didn't hear anything does not mean there's something wrong with your car.
The tyres, and noise insulations on the other car may not be the same with yours.

They did that, but there seems to be air in the steering fluid reservoir. Because while they were turning the wheel around after fixing, the liquid was bubbling.
It was not properly bled.

Good evening

So I've been having an issue with stiff steering while decelerating and some squeaky sounds when I turn either ways. I went to Oyingbo to get it checked and was told PS pump was faulty and the hose leaking.
I've changed PS pump (bought a new one) and the issue still stands.
Today i went again and this time I changed steering rack, bushings and stabilizer linkage all according to the mechs. Issue is still there. Infact, it's worse off.
I'm livid!!!

Car is a Toyota Camry 06. Who can help?
Bleed the system properly.

Of course. I know that. But more than 50% difference, something is definitely wrong. Anyways, the check engine light eventually came up and it says the Mass Air Flow sensor is the problem. Code came up with P0420 Catalytic converter again. I don't know why.

Hello Honda people. I’m just being curious here. I know thermostat and radiator fans are supposed to work intermittently but from my observation from my previous cars, the coming on and shutting off of the fans and thermostat usually takes sometime in between. But I notice with this my new Honda Accord, that the intervals are very short. I’m taking about every minute or two minutes or so, especially when the AC is turned on. I initially thought that maybe there was something wrong with the AC system but I took it to my AC man and he said there’s no issue. He said it’s the way the thermostat of the car works by design. Since I have no other person that uses Honda for me to ask, I decided to come here and ask you guys if this is correct. The AC cools perfectly (apart from a weird low whistling sound when the AC is very cool) and the car doesn’t overheat or anything.

Secondly, I notice that the exhaust sounds like something that is clogged, like it’s not breathing freely. When I touch the inside of the exhaust pipes, I notice dry black smoke inside. When I just got the car, there was a check engine light and we scanned it and found a P034 code stating that the catalytic converter bank 1 efficiency low. The dealer told me that the cat in the car is not the OEM one and that might be the cause. So I got the OEM from Honda Josh, we installed it and the CEL went off. But I still notice that the car consumes too much fuel and the exhaust sound is not normal with the black dry soot in the tailpipe. Please what could possibly be the issue? The car is a 2016 Honda Accord.
Any check light or code?
