PoliticsWe’ve Reduced Poverty By 50% – Jonathan by jcflex(op): 8:58pm On Sep 27, 2014
President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Benin said the country had reduced its poverty rate by 50 per cent.

Jonathan said this while speaking at the South South Peoples Democratic Party political rally in Benin, tagged ‘Unity Mega Rally.’

He said that the PDP, as a party, believed in stomach infrastructure because the party must ensure that there was food security and job creation in the country.

He noted that any leader who claimed not to believe in stomach infrastructure was not ready to lead, as “you cannot lead hungry people.”

He desrcibed the PDP as the only stable party since its formation that had never changed its name, logo or motto, adding that it is the only paty that gives its members the freedom to climb to the highest level.

He said that all the nation needed was unity, and gave the assurance that although all the roads could not be rehabilitated at once, his administration would continue to improve on all infrastracture in the country.

He also gave the reassurance that since the nation was able to conquer the Ebola Virus Disease, it would also conquer the Boko Haram insurgency.

The president however appealed to the party loyalists to be decent in their variuos electioneering competitions in order not to create enermies among themselves.

Earlier, Vice President Namadi Sambo said the presenet administration had completed seven power projects with a total of 2,000 mega watts for the South South under the Transformation Agenda.

Similarly, Senate President David Mark described Jonathan as “a good sell” hence his unianimous adoption by the party as its choice candidate for 2015.

The PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, described the president as a bridge builder and unifying factor.

He reassured that all defectors to the party would be reintegrated into the party without bias.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Aneneih, said the zone had every reason to be proud of its contribution to national development.

He also said that the zone had made sacrifice to keep the country together as well as contributed to the economic growth.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that, the president had earlier inaugurated the Benin-Ofusu Dual carriage, where Gov Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, described the quallity of work as impressive.

Oshiomhole also congratulated the president on the massive road construction and rehabiliattion across states in the country.

NAN also reports that the rally was attended by who is who in the PDP both in the state and in the country, including serving and past governors, national assembly members, as well as aspirants.

Nairaland General$9.3m Cash Transfer: Security Source Confirms Pastor Oritsejafor Was Involved In by jcflex(op): 7:54pm On Sep 25, 2014
Contrary to the denials of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), details have surfaced confirming he was involved in the movement of $9.3 million cash to South Africa, purportedly for the purchase of arms.

A security source revealed to SaharaReporters that along with the pastor, President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, coordinated the movement of the cash, and that its original destination was Cyprus, not South Africa.

Ayo Oritsejafor It would be recalled that the story and documents emanating from the Nigeria government are to the effect that the officials were going to use the money to buy arms from Tier One in South Africa. It turned out Tier One is not registered in that country to sell arms, and that it was going to buy them, somehow, from the ESD International Group Ltd in Cyprus.

Trying to wash his hands of the sordid story, Pastor Oritsejafor had said he leased the jet to Eagle Air, in which he has an interest. Eagle, in turn, said it leased it to Gold Coast Produce Limited.

The source told our reporter that the web of so-called leases woven around the transaction was concocted in August to enable Pastor Oritsejafor deny knowledge of the deal.

Repeated efforts by SaharaReporters to obtain from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) a copy of the so-called lease entered into by the pastor failed to yield any fruit, as officials there claim the Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, was away.

Similarly, the Corporate Affairs Commission, where Pastor Oritsejafor registered the plane under “Eagle Air” Limited, claims that their server has been taken over by one of their server/service providers, and that they are therefore unable to access information concerning ownership of Eagle Air.

As previously revealed by SaharaReporters, Pastor Oritsejafor’s Bombardier jet was seized in South Africa’s Lanserai airport on September 5 after law enforcement officials found that the jet had illegally ferried $9.3million cash into the country accompanied by an Isreali, Eyal Miseka and two Nigerians. The Nigerians are yet to be identified.

As soon as the seizure took place, President Jonathan intervened with the South African authorities in order to get the aircraft released as a way of preventing the public from knowing that Pastor Oritsejafor’s jet was involved in the deal.

No be me talk am ooo... Na see i see am ooo..

1.Assumed to be a player- Women assume you’re a player for no reason. They’ll take you less seriously and question your motives the whole time. Its like infidelity is written all over you. Ladies make sentences like “who are you sleeping with now?” Like WTF.

2.Attracting useless women- Sure you attract more girls, but with the quantity comes a drop in quality. You’ll constantly run into useless superficial women with no substance while the ones with substance are not phased or impressed by your looks. And trust me we don’t always like the pretty ones.

3.Amebor- Everyone’s in your business and wants to know who you’re sleeping with. Iya Basira on the street even warns her daughters never to cross your gate. On campus your name is on the lips of everyone, to make matters worse just be a little popular and you’re on every campus magazine. The amount of attention this person attracted troubled and confused her quite a bit. Everyone would know what you have done, not because of what you did but what you look like.

4.Older Women– Older women are pushy and aggressive and don’t know when to turn it off. The worst part is the boldest ones are the ugliest more condemned cargo. You have a flock of obasanjo looking women constantly making you uncomfortable. The worst is they’re openly biased towards you and will talk about you to everyone creating a lot of awkward tension and unwanted attention. Some would be like “Let me take care of you like a son”, biko does that involve servicing some parts..

5.Gays– g*y men stare at men the way men stare at women. It’s annoying and infuriating and makes me want to fight but I’m not on so i refrain. Either way the worst part about it is g*y men staring or trying to talk to you. So when a guy you think is straight glances at your arm or chest. Abomination. Once i got asked out by a g*y dude, i had to stylishly turn him down, we’re great friends though.

6.Jealous Girlfriend- Your girlfriend or wife is always jealous, if she catches you smiling at a lady it’s almost equal to you sleeping with someone else. She feels so insecure, checks your phone, knows your plans and wants to follow you out on guys night. No matter how much you try to assure her, she still finds a reason not to trust you.

7.No Trust– People would not believe you when you tell them that you are broke or you don’t have a girl friend.

Nairaland GeneralCrude Oil Theft: PDP Governorship Candidate Jarrett Tenebe Arrested by jcflex(op): 10:32pm On Sep 11, 2014
Jarrett Tenebe, a Peoples democratic Party gubernatorial candidate and a politically well-connected oil thief arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly shocked investigators by revealing that he received cover from several senior government officials and top politicians, including Mike Oghiadomhe, a former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Tony Anenih, chair of the board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke. Jarrett Tenebe

The EFCC was still holding Mr. Tenebe today after arresting him last week for alleged theft of massive amounts of crude oil.

An EFCC source disclosed that Mr. Tenebe, who hails from Edo State, told investigators that his powerful political patrons and protectors enabled him to carry out lucrative crude oil theft from Nigeria under the guise of evacuating stolen crude on behalf of the federal government. Among the political patrons are Ms. Alison-Madueke, Mr. Oghiadomhe, Mr. Anenih, a close confidant of President Jonathan, and James Jephthah.

The stolen crude oil was reportedly sold in Ghana.

The suspect came under renewed scrutiny after US investigators informed Nigeria’s law enforcement authorities that several vessels linked to Mr. Tenebe’s Fenix Impex Nigeria Limited were involved in the ferrying of stolen crude from Nigeria to Ghana via the Saltpond oil platform in the West African country.

Our EFCC source disclosed that the anti-corruption agency was able to arrest Mr. Tenebe only because US investigators were involved. The source added that, since the suspect’s arrest last week, the EFCC had been under intense pressure from several quarters to muddle up the case in order to spring the suspect free.

Our sources revealed that this is the second time Mr. Tenebe and his main collaborator have been in trouble this year. Earlier this year, the suspect and Peter Omoh Dunia (aka Peter Black), a close political associate of Tony Anenih in Edo state, were also arrested, but they were able to pull political strings that ensured their release without prosecution.

In March 2014, Nigerian soldiers, who were under the command of Brigadier General Azinta, had arrested Mr. Tenebe and Mr. Dunia. The two men’s arrest came after soldiers found fraudulent crude oil evacuation contracts in their possession. One Rear Admiral Austin Oyagha of the Nigerian Navy reportedly signed the evacuation documents on behalf of the Nigerian navy.

Following their arrest by the soldiers in Benin City, Mr. Tenebe and Mr. Dunia were caught red handed when they tried to bribe Brigadier General Azinta, the brigade commander of the Nigerian Army in Benin. Both men were in possession of $65,000, which was meant to bribe General Azinta.

Our EFCC source disclosed that the brigade commander reportedly played along with his would-be bribers for some days before arranging their arrest. The army officer handed over the bribe money to investigators as evidence against the two suspects.

However, the brigade commander was told that the suspects would be moved to Bayelsa State and handed over to the Joint Task Force (JTF). The move was part of a design to ensure their smooth release without prosecution. One of our sources told SaharaReporters that James Jephthah (aka Octopus), a very close friend of President Goodluck Jonathan, used his access to Aso Rock to obtain approval for the transfer of the case to Bayelsa where he eventually influenced the JTF to release Mr. Tenebe.

The EFCC officially declined to comment on the ongoing investigation of the Saltpond scam. However, a top official of the agency disclosed that the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, had ordered the agency not to take any action until her return to Abuja. Ms. Alison-Madueke is currently on a short vacation in the UK while awaiting the completion of the multi-million dollar renovation of her Abuja mansion.

A source at the EFCC told SaharaReporters that Mr. Tenebe’s political contacts had helped him to get appointed as an agent who sells crude oil seized from illegal marketers. The source added, however, that Mr. Tenebe’s politically powerful sponsors also arranged for the suspect to lift additional hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil, which he sold at great profit to different European oil dealers using Ghana as the point of sale.

EducationLibrary Etiquette by jcflex(op):
Many lovers of books often go to the library but not all observe library etiquette. In order not to upset other users, here are tips to help

No cell phones, please
It is basic library etiquette to ensure that mobile phones are kept on silent or vibrating modes. Loud call rings, bizarre reminder tones or short text beeps can be disturbing to other readers who may be trying to concentrate. If you must make or take a call, step outside.

Don’t talk loudly or whisper too much
Most common, but possibly one of the most abused and flouted codes of conduct. Talking loudly, gossiping, murmuring, chatting, whispering, humming or any other forms of talking, is best avoided while reading in the silent sections of a library.
This is one of the essentials of basic library etiquette that should be practised, whether it’s a big public library or a small community library. Silence, and a peaceful environment are a library’s asset and users flock its premises to do everything from reading, studying for college, preparing presentations and a host of other tasks that require peace and quiet.

Don’t tear pages out of books
Book thefts are known to be prevented in libraries through anti-theft sensors and other security systems installed at entries and exits. But missing pages from books may not be easily caught by library authorities.
It can be very tempting for a student on a shoestring budget or a mere prankster to rip out a few pages from a book and stuff them into their bags or pockets. For the library, such an act could spell a major monetary loss while it could mean that the next reader may miss out on just the piece of information he/she was looking for.

Return books
According to www.ehow.com, whether you are in a hurry or you are just feeling lazy, always practise this library etiquette of returning books where you found them. If you are in a tearing hurry caused by an emergency, the least you can do is to return the book to a staffmember and apologise on your way out.

Keep low volumeon music
Music can be a good tool to help readers concentrate. However, blaring headphones can distract and disturb everyone around you, especially in study areas of libraries. If you love listening to music while reading, make sure that you keep the melodies to yourself by keeping a low volume.

Be neat
It is not fair to leave public spaces or vehicles dirty after using them. The same civil etiquette applies to libraries too. Whether it is about taking with you bits of paper that you had torn off earlier, putting back a book at its place or clearing the photocopying area after using it, ensure neatness.

Don’t waste library resources
Leaving computer monitors on, printing excess copies, using spare paper, grabbing more pins that you need and a host of other wasteful activities should be avoided. Be considerate and think twice before using a resource that has been made available to you at, or without, a cost.

Stay in order
Many libraries have a sign-in sheet so that you know when it’s your turn; however, some try to jump ahead to grab the next available computer. You should wait your turn and let those who arrived ahead of you to use them first.

Be organised
Keep your papers and books organised when working at a table. Many libraries don’t have enough seats or tables for everyone to use, so if you are at a big table where other people can sit down, leave your papers in a pile.

Be considerate
Make an effort to be ready to leave before the library is going to close. If you wait until the very last minute that means that the librarians are going to have to wait for you to gather your items then check out our books before they can leave.

RomanceWedding Etiquette by jcflex(op):
There are several rules to adhere to when attending a wedding. For the hosts and guests to have a nice time at any wedding, these tips help

Send invites early
Invitations to the wedding should be sent out three weeks before the ceremony takes place. This gives guests sufficient time to make arrangements to be present and the couple still has a reasonable period in which to notify the inevitable ‘omissions.’

No registry invite
You are not supposed to put registry information on your wedding invite. It’s left up to friends and family to inform everyone.

Postponement
If you are thinking of postponing your wedding, then, every guest has to be contacted. Etiquette pros say that you have to send another invite with the new date.

On wedding day
Now, it’s the wedding day. The couple needs to know this: Never open your gifts at the reception or in front of anyone. You can tear it apart if you want but do that at home.

Who wears white or veil?
If you have been married before or have children, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear white but you are not supposed to wear a veil or have a train attached to your dress or carry orange blossoms.

Families together, please
For everyone to have a good time, seat teens, aunts and uncles etc, together. Try seating groups eith
er by their relationship to you or by their ages. However, don’t seat battling relatives together.

Head table
As for the head table, the rule has changed so often that there isn’t one anymore. You and your better half can sit at a raised table with your wedding party below you. You can have your own table with a table on either side of you with your wedding party. You and your husband in the middle of a long table with men on one side and women on the other, or boy, girl, boy, girl. Parents and grandparents at the table or not, it’s up to you.

Reserved seats
It’s a good idea to have a “reserved” card at the parents’ seats. They are the only ones that need preferred seating.

When to wear gloves
Gloves give your wedding attire such an elegant look. You can take them off sometime before you put on your wedding ring and hand them to your maid of honour.

Never change tables
Pick up your seating card from the table near the entrance to the reception hall. Move to the correct table. Don’t try to change tables with someone else. There’s a reason the bride and groom put you where they did.

Read menu
Read over the menu card if there is one. This will tell you exactly what you will be eating at the wedding. It will correspond with the silverware at your place setting.

Be polite
Introduce yourself to the other people at your table. Chances are good you haven’t met them all. Talk about your relationship to the couple as an ice breaker. Pay attention during speeches and toasts. It’s rude to talk during them.

Don’t get drunk
Keep your drinking under control. There’s nothing worse than a drunk and loud wedding guest.

Remember to say, ‘Thank you’
A personal thank-you note is the only appropriate way to say ‘Thank You!’ After receiving all those thoughtful wedding gifts. Be sure to send thank-you notes to friends and relatives who arrange showers and parties for you. Happy married life

FamilyGreat Things Wives Do by jcflex(op):
Some wives are a delight to their husbands and possess ingredients that make them happy

She is quick to say sorry
It is virtuous to be the first to apologise during and after any quarrel. Winning wives do this always
“The woman bears the burden of ensuring peace in the home at all times. Even if you are right, just say, ‘I’m sorry,’ and move on because men are egoistic. I apologise whenever there is a quarrel because we just have to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for the children’s sake.”
— Boluwatife is
married to Segun Oluwayomi, gospel artiste

She is accommodating
The circumstance notwithstanding, a wife withstands pressure and embraces the good of all situations.
“With God, I have coped very well with his fans. I am not a superwoman but I have adjusted very well. Everybody in the entertainment industry has fans, it is not limited to just my husband.
— Yvonne, is married to Sam
Oguachuba aka Samklef, a rap artiste

Doesn’t get overly jealous
Jealousy becomes destructive if not controlled.
I am not jealous of his fansbecause I expected it. He is in the public eye and is expected to have female fans. I know my man and I also know that whatever any girl does outside is to her own detriment. My husband will always come back to me.”
— Amelia is married to Seun Kentebe, an actor

She’s wise
Wisdom directs the affairs of any long-standing marriage. A wise wife knows what to do at the right time.
“He gets angry easily, especially when he does not have money. When he is angry, we all keep our distance.”
— Chibuzor is married to Francis Odega, an actor

It’s impossible to have a quarrel-free relationship but a good wife learns how to settle withher spouse on time.
“We agreed never to go to bed with hurts. We must talk about the problem and trash it out no matter how long it takes. So far, we have done that and it has helped a great deal.”
— Chioma, an On-Air-Personality, is married to Bobby Agwunobi

She is transparent
Money is a medium of exchange and not the controlling force of love. A good wife is transparent with financial issues in a marriage.
“We have maintained a joint account but we also have separate accounts. We are both transparent about our earnings, gifts and expenses. It is fair to say that whoever is buoyant at any time foots the bill.”
— Tayo, a medical practi
tioner, is married to Israel Abiara, a gospel artiste
She’s submissive
Submission is a virtue. It is what differentiates a woman from a girl.
“It took me time to get used to submitting wholly because I had become used to being independent.”
— Precious is married to William Orioha, aka 2shotz, a musician

She does not shout
When a wife engages her husband in a shouting match, she exposes her relationship to third parties
“Our kind of quarrel is not one that makes people shout and scream at each other. This has never cropped up in our 13 years of marriage. If he is upset, I know what to do and vice versa.”
— Yvonne Ebbi, an etiquette expert,is married to Ken

However, such declaration is only possible for now through executive fiat because of inactivity in NASS and their unfriendly nature in accepting individually sponsored bills when they themselves have been proved to be lacking in ideas.

Ngwakwe: TAN just like Neighbour to Neighbour or Tea party movements are pressure/lobby groups whose activities can only be declared illegal when they pose substantial security threat to persons, groups or the State.

Until we have casualties and breach of societal peace and decorum, it will amount to gross abuse of democracy and judicial process asking the court to declare their activities unconstitutional or otherwise.

If the Country wants to regulate the activities of such groups in the future, the NASS should pass law/s to checkmate their excesses and abuse of process than outright ban.
bros I gat u right, bt let luk at it again in anida angle, if d Fg stop all sch fr resuming for new term due to the outbreak of Ebola virus, in order to contain the spread of the virus, and other gathering were be ban as well, then why is TAN going arnd to hold gathering on behalf of GEJ in all the six geopolitical zone. in that not an insult on the student of primary and secondary sch.
.again is it that the TAN group are far more important than the education of this nation, which coincidentally is our future as a nation.

again is TAN above d law.

The Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has sued President
Goodluck Jonathan, Secretary to the Government of the
Federation Anyim Pius Anyim, Attorney-General of the Federa-
tion Mohammed Adoke and others over the pro-Jonathan’s
re-election rallies by the Transformation Ambassadors of
Nigeria (TAN).
They, alongside TAN, the Independent National Electoral
Commission, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the
Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba, were sued at a
Federal High Court in Abuja.
The party’s originating summon filed Wednesday is seeking
an order of the court restraining TAN and others from
canvassing votes and holding political rallies forJonathan.
The party said the rallies were encouraging unwholesome
violation of the provisions of the constitution in section 221
and was an undue wastage of the tax payers’ money.
Mr I.I. Emmanuel, who represented the party’s presidential
aspirant Ambrose Owuru, is arguing that the campaigns and
rallies violate sections 221 and 229 paragraph 15 of the third
and seventh schedules of the 1999 Constitution.
He also wants the court to determine among others “whether
the violation and lack of protection of section 221 of the 1999
Constitution by the defendants is not an abuse of power and
officeand dereliction of duty to the detriment of the right of
the citizenry to a dignified and lawful and orderly means of
political campaign and vote seeking by candidates at an
election through their political parties’ platform.”
No date has been fixed forhearing.
