The ladies own nah him vex me pass. I once photographed a lady and she complained that the photo was not bright when in fact I was thinking it was too bright. lolz. The phone photographers are my worst picks at a wedding . those peeps go block all the angles, you must be aggressive to get your job done. Colleagues in the business these ones no go allow you do your job. they will assume the position of hired photographers and can be so annoying especially the ones with manner issues. The pose specialist these ones will pop up from no were to criticise that perfect pose you will want executed. I got so enraged at a wedding and bet up this annoying lady in my heart. lolz The I don't want to pay group this group of persons will manufacture all the complains in this world just to make sure they don't pay. They will even complain about their smile. I remember once , a lady wanted me to remove the rain from her photo, another complained of her smile, in her words, "why my mouth be like this". I ask her whether I be jazz man. |

Some of these mush room schools as they are called bring education to the door steps of the poor.School fees these days is more expensive than an Msc fees. My question is,how will the poor send their kids to school? One of such primary school at my back yard here breeds kids that are sound academically, but they are classified under the mush room group. Such closures mean unemployment,an increased illitrate population,an increase in crime, kills education and the concept of a humble begining..some of these so called mega schools started off as mushroom schools, today, they are respected. Government should give them a chance and encourage them through loans and grands to take education to the next level..Mind you, some schools will bypass this action with money and connection.God help us |

In P.h, aside teaching jobs, landing other jobs seems difficult, especially companies that have signed MOU with host communities. If you don't know the CLO in charge of that area of opration,or you're nt connected, just forget it. The other day,I was at LNG proposed head quaters at Aboloma Rd,you need to see a large chunk of unemployed youths seeking employment..Non was picked aside 4 dudes who got the opportunity through connection. You cant blame the company 100%,after all, they signed an MOU which restricts them.. |
Seriously, this whole Lagos thingy is tiring. Must we all relocate to Lag before we get decent job? Seems majority of graduates here are in the edu sector. God help us..fam,am in same shoes as op,badly need one too here in p.h. |
My Opinion: *better plans should be mapped out for Nigerian graduates *that monthly alawee should be boxed as a startup gift after complition of a 6months to 1year skills acquization scheme. *The NYSC scheme honestly should be scraped and replaced with a more organised alternative as proposed below. *thumbs up to the npower initiative,it should be sustained as a means of compulsory employment. Should be structured like an I.T sort of where graduates will be posted to organisations, government and private firms etc for them to gain first hand experience in their respective fields with a fixed monthly pay of 40k * monthly alawee should be at most 40,000 naira, afterall militants get more than that 'The bloody irony'. With the above propositions, unemployment will be largely reduced. In addition, secondary school graduates should undergo a compulsory 1year skills acquisition program before jamb. With the above, government expenditure will be someworth reduced. See areas government will gain from. *nysc monthly alawee 9,500k gain. 10k plus npower 30k= 40k *bicycle allowance: delete *camp maintanance, officers pay, camp officials/domestic staff *food wahala:deleted * NYSC regalia :deleted *lives saved in regrads to religious bias, tribal sentiments, crisis, accidents, molestations etc *NYSC publications:deleted *corruption reduced and eradicated. These Nysc officials and corruption. The benefits of my propositions far out ways the concerns if the NYSC scheme is scrabed.. |

Hi, thanks for stopping by. Are you into the cement retail business? If yes, your inputs here are desperately needed and would be greatly appreciated. As an extra string of income, am set to venture into this line of business, and I honestly need all the information I can get. Am based in Port Harcourt and would be glad to hear from anyone who is into this line of business. would be glad to get answers to the following questions: * How do I start? * What is the current supply rate ? * What is the possible profit margin? * How do I get in contact with distributors in my area of residence ? * What is the payment scale for a sales rep? * What is the minimum sale from distributors to retailers? * Do I really need a means of transportation? * How do I get info on possible hike in price? * How do I deal with a sudden drop in price as against my stock purchased at a higher price? * What is the payment rate for helps who carry cement from my store to a waiting vehicle. who bears the cost? * Where is the most perfect location for a cement retail business? * How much do I really need to get started? * And finally, how do I become a distributor on the long run? Do I really need a trailer for this purpose? Honestly , information on the street is hard to come by as some dealers fear the competition . Please dealers or those experienced in this area, a brother needs your help. I will be most honoured if the above questions are x-rayed to my understanding and to the benefits of others interested in this line of business. |

Over time , I have learnt that looking for a job constantly with one's certificate blinds us to numerous profitable possibilities . It ties our feet and make us lazy, over dependency and makes one a liability. Instead of searching for that job for five years , why not pursue a skill you are passionate about, that is profitable for five years while you search for that dream job. You can as well search for someone around you or even outside that is doing well in his or her chosen trade and seek to learn while you strive to generate capital . Do not despise your days of little beginning . Just start . start with what ever you can raise. To be continued . |
In addition to my earlier post, having the stereotyped mindset of after school I will get a better job is the most myopic in the Nigerian context. Things have changed, been with a first class, you are not guaranteed a plum job. I know of peeps who graduated with good grades but yet, the only job they could lay their hands on are teaching jobs, mind you , some of these private schools pay peanuts and never on time. My advice exactly to all who cares to listen: To parents : Education at the academic walls can not be overemphasised citing its several advantages but, but there should be a plan B_Z if possible. Sorry to say, our beloved Nation isn't civilised to appreciate the prowess of an educated society. That's why graduates are never appreciated. Consider the NYSC monthly alawee to funds spent on amnesty programs annually. Think of a company's demands in several years of work experience for a fresh inexperienced graduate. Think of the several layoffs of existing employed population and the hope for fresh graduates. I was opportune as a fresh graduate to attend an interview were 5 years experience was demanded as a criteria for employment. Anger engolfed in me as I demanded from the panel to know how experience is gotten without actual work . They said OK, if that be the case, they will set up a training institute for would be hospitality interns. Summary: job these days requires experience, requires luck because hundreds of applicants seek that same position you seek , requires a miracle, requires skills in relation to a career part, require a good degree/grade, requires connection. The bottom line, allow your kids acquire skills or learn a trade from secondary school or as early as possible.Benefit's: The would be adults will grow up to have a path, less dependency on you as well as the ever dying system . They would have their skills to fall back on should their certificates fail them. They would grow up to be employers of labour and an asset to the society. |
Well,my opinion actually,am not really in a position to advice, but me think, learning a trade/acquiring a skill should be every under graduate/graduate's first priority. On the long run it will bring about independence, fulfilmentand satisfaction. Education combined with a skill is a big plus..a skill in areas such as computer networking, pipeline welding, forklift operations, weighbridge operator, fashion design, make up arts, catering services, photography and event management etc all these and many more out there can and would put food on your table as well as make you an employer of labour and less dependence on the government and the constant search for jobs...My name is Jeff,a proud Nigerian photographer,a fashion preneur,a commercial cleaning magnet and a mass comm degree holder.. |

cost of doing business is going too high on an alarming rate. Shop rent in port Harcourt, very expensive, too many taxes from hooligans dressed in government suits, things too expensive plus no Jobs. raising business capital is hectic. some shops go for 30 k and above per month. Men the town no easy , selling on the road side is even harder . Those guys on yellow will not allow you breath. It is well |

Nice info at op, just curious,is it okay if tables or text boxes are used in formating a cv? My fear is often time,cv distortions occur upon sending via email..And other questions i would love you to answer in order to clear doubts. Are referees your family members or your bosses? What do you think are the perfect fonts, size, spacing to use in a cv? Will be glad if you can add flesh to these. Thanks |
Raymonbell:thanks for your elaborate answer to my question. I'll try out all that you have suggested. Gracias |
johnime:numbers distorted upon copy and paste. 11digits |
glad to be here, I want to find out how I can effectively copy and paste large Data, without distortions in the numbers? if I copy and paste into another sheet, the numbers automatically changes. what do I do? plus, will it be possible for me to get a simplified excel manual for use in cases of uncertainty? Thanks as I hope for your reply. |
What a big terrible shoe! Hum,certainly. I once took this path, and trust me,the situation is hopeless. You cant change a dirty smelly pig,it will mess up your thoughts and drive you to sucide..Your kids need you, when they grow up,they will understand...That lady will not go if you ask her to. Bro biko, relocate to a place unknown, divorce her, start your life anew, and give those kids the best... |

THE PANGS OF WAR .Let's discuss solutions .We need our selves .Not mature enough for self determination .The greedy , the strong will highjack the process. Power corrupts ,Our streets and its leadership, a reference point. The truth: MAJORITY OF THOSE SEEMINGLY FIGHTING FOR YOU, FIGHT FOR THEMSELVES. Be wise in your choices. I hear an ignorant bunch clamour for war as a panacea to self determination, resource control and the likes. I laugh in Spanish for they know not what the concept of war entails. The pangs of war every so visible to those who have experienced it. Honestly, it isn't a plate of native soup you should wish for. We are not yet mature for a round table discussion or a peaceful referendum for self determination. It's always violence on issues such as this. We need pragmatic and result oriented strategies to arrive at our end. So many issues raised up in the past and presently as we speak. Do we always drag the cow to the slaughter, let's embrace change for once and profer solutions. WHAT IS THE WAY OUT? WHAT CAN BE DONE, WHAT REALLY IS THE PROBLEM, HOW DO WE GO AROUND THE SITUATION IN ORDER TO ARRIVE AT THE DESIRED RESULT, WHAT PRAGMATIC STEPS DO WE TAKE, WHAT IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, LETS TAKE THE REQUIRED ACTION. The bottom line is Nigeria needs Nigeria. Without the afonjas as some will call them, we can not survive, without the Abokis , the Nna Bros, the pish selling peeps, the Fulani's and every other tribe that makes up the Nation Nigeria.
