I think it is part of the package, I have itchy teary eye coupled with a little swelling under my eye bag but it was detected at the early stage...an eyedrop was prescribed!

So don't self medicate, u need to see a Doc before taking/ using any drugs.

I think you should have enough money at home. And stock up your fridge and buy cans of food and Indomie and get enough stored drinking water. Because if for any reason, you're unable to move around (either escalating violence or curfew), you should barricade yourself indoors. Better be safe than sorry. It's cool. I should have posted my birth announcement or story, but I never joined any month team so I didn't want to hijack. It was kinda funny (now, not then ). But this is what I experienced and both times, I could compare what I did and what I could improve on and what was out of my control (no, I'll never be like all the strong women who go "Oh I'm at 8cm dilation, why I didn't even notice!" ).

To understand what happens during a wall squat, you should understand what a contraction does. Get a sachet of pure water (your full uterus) and put a hole in it. Water will come out. But if you press part of the bag, water will gush out faster. And that's what a contraction is: pressure on your uterus pushing the baby into the birth canal. It however is painful and human beings are designed to clench up in pain (hit any part of your body on something painful and you will recoil back). Which is not what you should be doing during contractions, you should be opening your cervix more.

And squats do that. But if you're pregnant, you're front-heavy. And since very few Nigerian women do Yoga, you most likely don't know how to balance well. So lean your back against a wall for support and squat. Do it a lot, especially during contractions, to open up that whole area more. It will ease the pain of contractions, infact staying still makes contractions feel more painful so be active. And breathe through your squats and contractions: breathe in going down when contraction is peaking, push the air towards your stomach (like you're trying to inflate a balloon) and breathe out through your mouth coming up from the squat, when the contraction (which acts like a wave) is reducing.

Whatever you do, don't sit or lie down unless they are checking you or you have to because they are monitoring fetal heart rate or something medical.

PS: do you know what a popsicle is? One typo of cheapo ice cream that is basically flavored water, Sugar and coloring on a stick, frozen. It's much nicer than plain ice during labour and the sugar will give you energy. Because you will get dehydrated and tired. So look for some and ask your Dr if you can lick during Iabour.

Some people don't take to epidurals too well. I don't. And a few other women don't. Some times, epidurals do slow down labour (I could barely push and I tore from the pressure of baby coming out and being unable to push well, but it wasn't a bad tear). If you must take an epidural, take it on time, 4cm. So you have enough time to get used to it.

If you must go without epidural, be as active as possible. I mean, active. Not your regular day schedule but active. And once labour starts, from active to transitional stage, be active: wall squats give more support than regular squats (time it during contractions), labour is the time to dance and dance well (dance like a masquerade), twerk if you need to break your water (because that hurts less than Pitocin), if you get tired during labour, ask for pain relieving IV drip (before 6cm). Use that time to rest and get your strength up. Once you get to 8cm, get on your knees. Gravity will push baby into birth canal faster. Get a doula (any person who can ginger you, preferably someone who has delivered or someone used to Sports). It could be a sister, an aunt or even a brother. Leave the prayer warriors outside your labour room (because sometimes, labour is a mental game and you will eventually feel fear and you need a coach). Know what to expect (you'll be in pain and want to run away, you will get thirsty so have ice blocks to suck on). Remember, labour could be 3 hours or 18 hours. That's upto you and God, you can't control it.

Whatever you do, be firm but flexible. If you decide to take an epidural, nothing wrong with it.

Our husbands are in your care and mercy daddy, the wisdom, knowledge and finances they need to train our children and guide their homes in the right and Godly path pls give unto them.

We the pregnant sisters are in care Lord, we asks for Hebrew women anointing, anointing of ease, supernatural child birth in Jesus name. We pray we shall not cast our young or labour in vain in this journey. Your word in d book of Isaiah 66 vs 7 says FOR AS SOON AS ZION TRAVAILED,SHE BROUGHT FORTH HER CHILDREN, Ageless God we key ourselves into this word and pray before our pains shall come we will be delivered of our children (Amen)

Lord u said we should remind u your words and u shall keep them and u also said you honour your words more than your name, we pray all your promises and good covenant concerning childbirth shall come to pass in our life in Jesus name....We shall be save during childbirth, every arrow of confusion fired into the day of our delivery shall backfire in seven folds....We come against every form of stillbirths and premature births in Jesus name, we shall all go into the delivery room and come out rejoicing with our bundle of joy and testimonies. You shall work through Our doctors and nurses on our days of delivery and every medical appointment to favour us in Jesus name,we come against every forms of medical errors and mismanagement...

For this particular one, I used

3 cups of flour
One cup of granulated sugar
A pinch of salt
1/3 teaspoon of nutmeg
4 teaspoons of yeast


Get a medium sized bowl, sieve the flour into the bowl
Add your sugar, yeast, salt and nutmeg and mix with your hands or spatula

Get one cup of warm water and pour into the flour and mix with your hands (it's messy but it'll mix better and it will be smoother) Gradually pour the water while you mix. Be mindful so it doesn't get too runny. When your batter consistency is like pap ish, then you cover the bowl with foil or if you don't have foil, you can use a clean nylon and then put one kitchen towel in it to help trap heat

Put the bowl inside a warm place for 45mins. By then the batter should have risen and the quantity should be double or almost double. (my trick is that I pre heat my oven. I don't make it too hot, just warm, then I turn it off and put the bowl inside for the flour to rise)

Put your oil on fire (I usually use a small pot, that way I don't use too much oil)

When the oil is hot, scoop the batter in you hand (scoop a small quantity to avoid mess), then squeeze the batter between your thumb and index finger (If you can't do this method, you can get a round spoon, dip in oil, then scoop the batter into the hot oil)
When one side is golden brown, you turn the other side to fry too

Sometimes when you turn the puff puff for the second side to fry, you may notice that it will turn back again. If this happens don't worry, just use your frying spoon to stir it like you should stir fried potatoes
Fry on medium heat to avoid burnt puff puff
