joseph1832: metaphorical allusion You go fear educated illiterate now.
Putting two literary device together just to drive home your foolish opinion just expose you as a nonentity and literally dead human.
Ignorant dolt_ obviously doesn't know I'm a literati and I deal with literary devices for a living.
Metaphorical allusion my ass. LMFAO. You studied NIGERIAN English literature and so, you only know the basic applications. Let me teach you some lessons. 1. Two or more literary devices can be employed in the same sentence or even juxtaposed next to each other. For example: "cold-blooded sun" is both an oxymoron and a personification (or even anthropomorphism). 2. A word can have multiple meanings. A word can be a literary device and also have it's normal meaning. For instance, irony can be employed as a literary device and it can be used to explain a situation that is hypocritical. Example; saying that Christian's calling the cross "holy" is ironic because the cross itself is a torture device is an instance of irony being used colloquially and not as a literary device. From point number 2, when I said metaphorical allusion, I was using both words colloquially. |

Nonsense and colonialist mentality. alexistaiwo: You are missing the whole point. If they won't take a case because they know the chances of getting a win is slim, that means the Prosecutor has examined the case on its merit and realised that the defendant might be innocent and get off thereby putting a stain on their conviction rate. Now does that not validate the my initial point where I said Prosecutors try to see through the lenses of the defendant? Some people just like to argue subjectively. The prosecutor does not even talk to the defendant sometimes until they are ready to take the case. The merits of the case on paper is what they need in most cases. For some defendants, the first time they see the prosecutor is when the prosecutor comes in with a plea deal because the prosecutor is sure of a win. In court, actions on paper and video are used to judge the intent of the defendant. The prosecutor does not really need the defendants input unless they want to catch them on pejury |

KoiceReloaded: Have you ever met an ambitious, politically inclined DA? They don't take a case they won't win, cuz an exemplary conviction record exponentially improves their CV, and a potential mayoral appointment. Anytime you see a DA squaring off against defendant in court, empathy in regards to the later's innocence is the last thing on their minds.

KoiceReloaded: Loads of close-minded, conservative local champs in there. You'd think being educated would enlightened and aid in improving the archaic mindset of people of backward culture and mentality... Alas, au contraire, Education only give them an improved vocabulary to defend/justify their warped dogma, whilst doubling down on their bigotry.
All the same, it's their opinion, and they're entitled to it. I only feel sorry for them, seeing that we're in the 21st century, and they are still stuck in the 18th century. Time will be hard on them small-minded educated illiterates. Forgive them for they know not what they are saying. Many of them have not travelled far and wide to see different lifestyles. Some of them lack education. Some of them have made some money with their Nigerian mentality and so they think it is the only mentality to have. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by JeromeBlack: 12:07pm On Sep 09, 2019 |
alexistaiwo: So if you want to prosecute a criminal, at the beginning of the trial, even if the chances are remote, you won't entertain the possibility of the criminal being innocent? You won't do your research about the alleged criminal and try to know what made him/her do what they are alleged to have done? You will just come to trial and be pulling incriminating evidence from your ass. You are talking to an American. American prosecutors care about conviction rates. Their career is based on that. Innocence comes in second. Go and do research on plea deals in the USA. Furthermore, travel out that shithole you call a neighbourhood and learn about the world. |

alexistaiwo: Do you read to understand or do you just read to showcase your infinite stupidity? Prosecutors are very much interested in knowing what the defendant was/is thinking before going on to commit whatever landed them in hot water. In the so called developed countries you never miss an opportunity to famz with.... Do you know how much government/Prosecutors spend to research about the thinking process of criminals? They are not interested in what the defendant was thinking. They are only interested in the story the evidence creates. Criminal intent (mens rea) is based on actions. This is why you can be convicted without even dropping a confession or standing as a witness |
