It's the economy, stupid!! The party called APC will always remind Nigerians about our own great depression. No political party has been so disappointingly insensitive in Nigerian history like this current party in power. |
Morbeta11:You mean Charles Okonkwo ( aka Charlie Parker)? He was later invited to join Eagles alongside Ademola Adesina. You lived at Amaobia Street, where Amaobia Girls ( 2 storeys Hardcore Brothel hotel) was located? |
The 1980's Eagles was almost dominated by players from Enugu Rangers International - Okalla, Chukwu, Isima, Atuegbu, Okpala and Onyedika. Adokie, was playing for Sharks of Port Harcourt. Adiele was in Spartans Owerri. Odegbami, Owolabi, Ogedengbe, Lawal, Bamidele were in IICC shooting stars. Ikhana was in Bendel Insurance. I don't know where Nwosu was playing, New Nigerian Bank? |
Give me a plate of Abacha and 2 glasses ( who send you) of Obollo-afor or Enugu - Ezike palmwine anyday. |
It's the economy, stupid! APC is very poor in management of people and resources. |
nairalanda1:Yeah, Nigerian politicians ( civilians or military) invented a brand of Ponzi schemes the original American Mr. Ponzi never imagined. The current ones are doubling down on the scam! |
nairalanda1:Those were promises made by Nigerian politicians in the then ruling party, NPN. You can ask them if they are still alive. Ever heard about Olusola Saraki, Umaru Dikko, Uba Ahmed, Ibrahim Tahir, Joseph Wayas, Adenira Ogunsaya, Shehu Shagari, Alex Ekwueme, Bamangar Turku, Melford Okilo, etc? |
Abracadabra, oil money, 1990! In 1990... electricity for all, food for all, house for all, Pipe borne Water for all, free education, good roads for all!! Those were promises made by Nigerian politicians in the 80s. Charlie Boy used those promises as lyrics in one of his albums. Same fate of the 80s promises, awaits the so called subsidy savings. Nothing has really changed in Nigeria. Abracadabra, oil money... |
Moin Moin, Herr Bundeskanzler!! |
Amotolongbo:Check out my entire comment. Igbo people buy lands anywhere our money can afford. Even in hostile territories. Is it the best option for my people? Definitely not; i believe in developing our own territory, for us and for souls that will dwell in our land in the future. |
Ha ha ha! It's like comparing a plot of land in Munich to a plot of land in Cottbus. The difference is clear! Munich is a capitalist's playground, while Cottbus was a former communist enclave. Different Nigeria, different mindset! Nsukka area has perhaps, the most fertile soil in Igboland, unfortunately my people prefer building mansions, filling stations and Gas plants than using the land to feed our people by mapping out areas for residential area, industrial area and farmlands. |
Who is talking about economic growth in Nigeria when recession is looming? APC is terrible at managing resources. |
In Nigeria, the poor citizens pay subsidy to the greedy elites, while the poor are told to endure for the future of their children. It is a complete reversal of what is obtainable in enlightened societies, where the elites are taxed so the poor can have shelter and food on the table |
The Lizard people have taken over Nigeria's economy. Russian economy in early 90s come to mind. Unless local refining capacity starts this month, the economy of Nigeria will be even more difficult next year, than we have seen in decades. Can't the eggheads in present government consult Obasanjo on the template he used in 1999 - 2003 to stabilise the economy? |
DaddyJapan:You have some valid points. Our greedy elites have no shame. Unfortunately, the pillaging will continue unless there is a profound shift in African consciousness, which will give rise to stronger institutions, eventually cleaning up our system |
DaddyJapan:David is more popular as a conspiracy theorist than as former footballer. I'm more fascinated by the possibility of some dark powers having been controlling Africa and Africans for over 400 years. It is a big puzzle seeing the potentially richest continent ( in terms of value and volume of mineral resources), in the world wobbling like nothingness. |
ganisucks:Well, i get my inspirations from The Why Files. I don't know any wannabe footballer that says anything about The Lizard people. Believe it or not, they are some Lizard people amongst Nigerian politicians. |
The lizard people have taken over Nigeria. Unfortunately, many Nigerians do not understand what's going on. It might be too late before folks understand what's happening in the country now, and how it is tied to the future of Nigeria. |
BloomingDale:Thank you, Jare! Typos abound in Nairaland due to being in a haste to post comments. |
Naira future in the official market ( for the next 3 months) is now about 850 to the Greenback, meaning Naira will dip further in the black market. This actually means more winter months for Nigerians. Folks should prepare for additional increase in inflation rate in the coming months. Once again, i ask, who discovered Nigeria? Lord Luggard or APC? |
Nigerians must hold the country's elites accountable for crimes committed by those men of iniquity. The country will never make any positive progress if criminal elites are protected by Nigeria's institutions, but punishes normal citizens that commit same crime. |
If we can't hold our leaders responsible for crimes they commit, Nigeria has no moral right to have prisons for ordinary citizens that commit crimes. Once again, who discovered Nigeria? Lord Luggard or APC? |
It looks like a real Autobahn! It doesn't look like substandard trash called expressway, filled with gullies and craters scattered all over Nigeria. Have you ever driven 1,000km on a smooth Autobahn? Vienna to Copenhagen comes to my mind! |
It's the economy, stupid!! APC has shown Nigerians how terrible a manager of people and resources the party is. |
That's the bridge at the place Hausa people sell foodstuffs and livestock, before Hariz filling station. That road and bridge was constructed between 1978 and 1979, and typically of Nigeria's federal government, nobody would care to inspect the bridge for any damages until it comes to this present situation. |
Winter is coming to Nigeria!! As i often ask, who discovered Nigeria, Mungo Park or APC? Add all these to the ones borrowed by Mr. Bihari, you see the party APC and it's people are terrible managers of resources. |
They can't hide the truth any longer. I pity those who believe this government is saving any money from fuel subsidy. The huge monthly allocation they share is due to Naira devaluation. The only hope for this country now is 100% local crude oil refining capacity, otherwise Naira will be worse off next year. |
Xandelle:Oga, you're making a mistake by mixing up feets and metres. Average plot of land in the east is about 50x100 feet, not metre. In square metres, that's about 465 square metres Or 100ft X 100ft which is about 900 square metres. Most plots at Coal Camp Enugu are about 50ft X 100ft |
Simeonjoe1:It's all political talks, bros. I know many coal powered electricity plants still adding megawatts to their nations grid. How many coal mines have they closed in Virginia, USA? China still gets substantial percentage of its electricity from coal power plants. Even the more environment-conscious Europeans are still connected to electricity from coal powered plants. Investors will definitely come to Enugu due to the fact that profits will be made. Nigeria and most African economies will continue to use fossil fuels in next one and half century or even longer. |
This is not even hidden. Without subsidy, Nigerians would have been paying about 750 - 770 Naira for 1 litr e of petrol since August, when Naira dipped against the USD and crude oil prices started rising. Since early August, only NNPCL has been importing fuel to Nigeria. Those in government can call it any cosmetic name ( under- recovery, etc), it is still subsidy. This is why people shouldn't believe what the federal government has been saying. The government is still paying subsidy on fuel and also fixes fuel price; the market is not deregulated for fuel. |
This is perhaps the first time many shady characters are in charge of government in Nigeria. The way things are going, another economic recession is imminent in Nigeria. |
