If Ndigbo is ready, Enugu coal mines can be revitalised by building a new coal powered electricity plant somewhere around 9th Mile area. The new power plant gets coal supply from the nearby mines, and energy generated can be sold to many states in South Eastern Nigeria. Coal deposit in Enugu can be used to power 2 electricity plants with a total capacity of not less than 2,000 Megawatts; this could be more than all the current electricity demand in 5 south east states. We need to learn what Germans did after the second world war. The coal mines in Ruhr area of Germany ( Dortmund, Cologne area) was used to power German industries to success after the war. Once again, if we are serious, we have the resources to power Igboland to prosperity. |
Asphalt quality used in road construction in Nigeria is one of the poorest in the world. Engr. Umahi should at least make sure, if possible, that from old 9th Mile Toll Gate to Abakpa Junction is reconstructed into 3 lanes of concrete road in each direction. Moreover, he should investigate fraud of the poorest quality in the reconstruction of the area between Obinofia Ndiuno to Amansea , along Enugu - Onitsha Expressway. An incompetent Lebanese company is handling that section of the road. What the company has done so far is the most poor work i have ever seen in road reconstruction. |
seunmsg:Nothing special here: Rear Admiral Alison Amechi Madueke from same Enugu State, was the first Chief of Naval Staff ( from Igboland after the civil war) during the infamous Abacha regime. If not for Nigeria's brand of politics in the military, Igbo people in Nigerian military have distinguished themselves excellently in their fields. |
That's the heart of the jungle and Mosquito Hub. |
In 2015, after Buhari was sworn in, Obasanjo warned Nigerians about Buhari's poor grasping of how economy works. He said that Buhari could be good in some areas, but he (Buhari) has Zero understanding of economics, especially in Nigerian context. Buhari had worked under Obasanjo in the 70s, he also witnessed Buhari's wreck of Nigeria's economy between 1984 to August 1985. Despite all these warnings, many Nigerians still voted for the same Buhari in 2019. In my view, only constant hardship and widespread suffering will reset the mindset of Nigerians who vote incompetent people into power, due to ethnic or religious sentiments. Since October 1979, Nigeria has been sliding down on every index of human development. The roots of such a negative growth is poor leadership, from federal to local government levels. |
It's the economy, stupid! What can 5,000 a month pocket-money afford a family in an economy burdened with about 25% inflation rate? If this is what Buhari government borrowed 800 million dollars to do, it pretty much means folks in this regime will cream off 70% of that borrowed dollars. More money for Dubai, more houses in Abuja and more wives to their already bunch of harem. Who discovered Nigeria? APC or Mongo Park? |
22o62021:I meant Enugu North LGA ( Ogui, New Haven, Coal Camp, Iva - Valley, GRA , Asata, Ngwo and Independence Layout). There's only one Coal City in Nigeria. The 042 kpom kwem!! |
Chimaroke Nnamani already admitted that PDP rigged Enugu governorship election. Let the courts allow people's choice into Enugu Lion Building. EOD! |
By his observations above, Nnamani has actually explained how the fatty governor and his associates rigged Enugu election against LP Governorship candidate. His anger is that the same people refused to rig him in as senator elect for Enugu East. LP won Enugu North (the heart of Coal City) in governorship election, not PDP as Nnamani claimed. |
That's gonna be a big pension payout for him. |
Nigeria has lost the kind of journalism Dele Giwa and Ray Ekpu were known for. What we have now are mainly hungry soulless journalists who shamelessly collect money to do politicians hatchet job of pulling down opponents. |
Nigeria's prisons are like vulture poultry. It should actually be for training politicians who steal public money, making sure they imbibe new cultures where selfless service to humanity is supreme. |
TheFacelessMan:Wrong, i aren't celebrating. I just pointed out what could be the repercussion if the trend continues. It's exactly what it is! |
A very cold winter is coming to Nigeria. Finally, Naira will soon bottom down faster than Ben Johnson. |
Return of the Mack!! |
It's really a pathetic situation for us. The old Egypt and Nubia were organized; they built cities and had schools where science and architecture were taught. Timbuktu had flourishing universities, yet Europeans through Greece and Rome, were able to develop sustainable societies, where education and good government were inculcated in future generations. The future for blacks of Africa seem bleak, unless we change our mindset. Another mad Hitler might rise up someday in the future and decide to destroy black Africa with chemical or biological weapons. They can use drones to drop such at night, sending people of the continent south of the Sahara to eternity. The Trans-Atlantic slave trade ended centuries ago, unfortunately black Africa is still in chains. Our leaders are not even aware of the danger, even for their offspring. With all the wealth stolen by Mobutu Sesesokou of Congo, his children are today suffering due to their father's atrocious rule. It certainly, wouldn't continue like this. Otherwise, black Africa is doomed! |
Water may not even be available for the fire trucks. Water wey country people no see for pipe? Evil wicked politicians everywhere in APC. |
Nnamani, zukwanuike!! |
May God bless Mr. Sam Onunaka Mbakwe, the best governor ever in the whole Igboland. Dede, jee nke oma!! |
The army made sure there's such a clause in the constitution. Scoring 25% of votes in Abuja by a presidential candidate, is meant to make sure that the person at least got a tangible approval from residents of Nigeria's "Centre Of Unity". Babangida and other agents of one-Nigeria in the military, saw the 25% in Abuja as a way of balancing the so-called Nigeria's unity. The military is keenly interested in how this plays out in about 2 months time. Additionally, the weak 10% of the population mandate ( according to INEC) for Mr. Tinubu makes it even more interesting. Politics in Nigeria has never been interesting like in this present scenario. The country might end up becoming a Plantain Republic ( if the constitution is discarded), which in my opinion, is worse than a Banana Republic. This present situation is also a test for Nigerian military. |
I'm just curious, Mba was declared winner by about 3500 votes. How many votes were cancelled in the election? How did INEC generate total votes in Nkanu East to about 17,000, after it was established that accredited voters in the LGA was just about 9,000 people? |
He introduced a type of brutal politics Igboland abandoned after 2nd republic. Ebeano group? What's that? Folks like me saw how Jim's Vanguard and Ikemba Front nearly destroyed old Anambra State in 1983. If you can not sale your ideas to the people peacefully, please do not bring politics of violence to Igboland. It's really commendable, Enugu people showed him a red card. His time was up! |
What they are doing in Lagos is like allowing the mafia run government agencies. The masses will have brutal stories to tell . Unfortunately, those Agberos have no atom of sympathy in their blood! They are like vampires. |
Such appointments like Buhari did is an example of how to kill an economy of a country. And he pretty much accomplished it in Nigeria. That's why Obasanjo's economic policies were felt positively by everyone in Nigeria. He went out to get professionals like Soludo, Okonji-Iweala, etc into his cabinet. There was economic stability in Nigeria then; food and shelter were affordable. |
You really want to force US president to congratulate a rigger for rigging an election massively? Just a few weeks ago, a Vienna based newspaper reported that Nigeria just elected a suspected drug trafficker as president. Even Bild-Zeitung had an embarrassing report about the so-called president elect. If Tinubu is sworn in, and you are using Nigerian passport, get ready to get your ass screened in Airports around the world. |
Sammy07:Have you ever heard anyone give account for looted public funds in Nigeria? |
APC mismanaged Nigeria's economy like no other government in the nation's history. Nigerians will continue to pay for bad government as long as APC remain in power. Everybody will feel the pain of allowing incompetent people in government in Abuja. |
The federal government is yet to tell Nigerians where and how it invested or used monies saved from removal of subsidy on diesel and kerosene. |
Nigeria is like Disney Land - sometimes you need to think like a child in order to understand most games here. I think folks who made Nigerian constitution envisaged a nation with a " Centre Of Unity" in Abuja. They probably meant it as a symbol of Nigeria's unity, which makes it mandatory for a president elect to at least get 25% of votes in Abuja during the presidential elections. Babangida and his co- travellers were always fond of alluding to Abuja as a symbol of Nigeria's unity, so they made sure that such a clause found its base in our constitution. Even the military guys who supported that clause in the constitution are watching the present development keenly. |
seunmsg:The question we should be asking is, how did an ordinary lawyer end up acquiring properties worth millions of dollars after being in government of an African country in 2 decades? How did a supposedly civil servant earn such huge monies to buy properties in foreign countries? |
African politicians have stolen more money than the European colonial powers did in Africa. If Africans continue to support such people to wield power, in 250 years, Africa will still be the most poverty stricken continent in the world. |
Bongo will come back as fashionable trousers again, perhaps in the year 3030. |
