Sisters coming from Nigeria with kids, please prepare your minds. It’s not going to be easy but attainable. The transitioning period will not be easy on any of you.
Transitioning usually comes months after starting schooling here. The kids will first have a confusing phase (some of them may begin to misbehave, finding out how much freedom and right they have here. They may even threaten you at this stage lol, just calm down. They will pick some positive and negative before finally settling to making informed choices. Parents may loose it during this transitioning stage of the children, please and please try to hold it.
Be present, be sensitive, curious and calm to guide them through this settling in phase. it’s a process everyone will be fine at long run. You will get used to not hitting them, you will get used to not shouting. Most importantly, find a way to take care of your own stress in order to be sane enough to support the children. Leaving them at Nigeria will not help rather you are postponing the task.
In all, it’s better here than where we are coming from. God help us |

For my kids, nothing o! They have been having the name from birth. Although, I have newspaper publication I did when I married. Never had a reason to use it. You can do a newspaper publication, just in case. Thenext: Thanks madam, but please which legal documents did you use for that? |

No problem at all, my kids and I are bearing different surname from my husband. Never encountered any issue with it at home and abroad. Thenext: Please I need your contribution on this matter. The surname on all my credentials (WAEC, degree, NIN, international passport etc) is Tunji, but I don’t want my children to bear Tunji but Olatunji. My children now have Olatunji as there surname on there birth certificates and NIN. I have done affidavit in court to claim that I am the same person having surname as Tunji and Olatunji. So my questions are, is this acceptable legally and will there be any problem at the airport when traveling abroad with the children. Or any future implications for me and the children. |

I am deeply sorry if the bolded got you upset, triggered or offended. I take that back, not from a place of war. If I can or qualified, I would. Reason I offered to support with what I can to those that have businesses already. icon8: Why don’t you take the lead? Since you have this noble idea, why not register a legitimate business, get a sponsorship licence and employ as many Nigerians as you want? After you’ve done that with some degree of success, come back here and share your story, I’m sure others will follow in your footsteps. |

On tier2 sponsorship: Do we have our people in business here in the UK with sponsorship licence and ready to employ our graduates here? The Asians are into this, helping thier people and expanding. When are we going to become selfless? We have our people in care but careless to get sponsorship licence, sadly this licence is cheap to get. Our people need us, help....we are good people, we are hard-working, encourage your own. * If you have a legitimate business in the UK and qualified to get a sponsorship licence, pm me I will contribute to you getting it to help our UK graduates.

You are exempted as a student not 25%. Check to download from your student hub or find out from your school for your exempt letter which covers your household until you graduate. [ quote author=twizzie post=105284516]I got the 25% student discount but didn't know even my dependent is exempted. I'm currently checking my council website and I don't see anything. Any link will help please. I am still checking as we speak, this must not pass me by cc Lagosismyhome.[/quote] |

Good morning,
Please I need help with understanding health and care worker visa and how it works.
- Can someone on tier4 visa switch to health care visa? - Is it only NHS job or working for any care organisation eg. Care home, community care in the UK qualify one for a health care visa? - Are health care workers, health care assistant, clinical assistant eligible for health care visa? - Can a tier 4 dependant visa holder apply for health care visa?
Thank you |

Convert some of your naira to pounds and carry along as you come. Leave the rest in your naira account, ensure you have token and can use internet banking. You can change while here, when you must have opened a UK account to ensure safety. tpain22: Thanks for your response, I would want to move it into my own account, will have to open an account once I get over there in few weeks, am not familiar with the UK banking system yet.. Also large amount of funds that might translate into at least £10,000 |

It depends on your city. Google, employment agencies in your city, check listed employments on their site. You can also contact them for available vacancies for immediate employment. Do same on facebook, they usually post realtime jobs. Always search with your city name. Best of luck twizzie: Hi Lagosismyhome
Can you please share the name of the agency/area? Also, do you have any recommendations please? |

Honestly! I bought a new one, logged in and automatically have everything in the old moved to the new acer. Phone synchronization top notch. Battery life, eternity. claremont: Chromebook all the way! I have used an Acer chromebook for years for work and for play. They are cheap, practical and effective. I like the way they synchronize with google on my phone such that i still have access to it whilst away from it. I will never go back to using windows etc. |
