Truth234:
That is really good, Paga has made adjustment to its model to suit Nigerian market. In Kenya, few people have bank account, while in Nigeria more people do and can access it via smart-phones. Exactly, what Paga and P-Mesa are offering. This is the reason why P-Mesa failed in South Africa.

But Paga has been able to capitalized on Nigerian market and hopefully they will get local banks to embrace their over 10,000 network.
it's Mpesa, the article spelt it wrongly.

it's sad but let not make this about Nigeria and understand that the global economy is on meltdown. watched CNN the other day and it reported that big and I mean big manufacturing companies are closing down because of cheap imports from China even in the US OOO. I have mixed feelings about the issue but really China is taking over the world gradually because they export in large scale and sell cheaper than what the price is in the buying country which forces businesses like this to shut down. Nigeria needs to review it's protection policies but again if the government ban imports to promote local manufacturers guess who will complain? NIGERIANS SMH.
I can't make sense of his story and what he's complaining about. His business should have nothing to do with where furniture is manufactured or how it is manufactured. I didn't hear about the business until this close down story. I expect the business model to be similar to what hotels.ng does. You meet furniture makers and list their showrooms, you get a cut from every sale then you run an advertising platform within the system for featured showrooms. I wonder how it all went wrong but I wish him the best and he should stop acting like a quiter. Entrepreneurs don't give up, when a business fails, you learn from your mistakes and apply the new knowledge to your next failures. As a matter of fact, the more you fail the more you learn, it gets to the point where nothing can take you unawares anymore.

Politics › Gov. Okorocha Reacts To Ghost Slap Story - Says He Does Not Blame Rumor Mongers by Jethrolite(op): 1:08pm On Aug 24, 2016
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state says his trip to the United States of America was to see his grandson

Dismisses reports that he went abroad for medical purposes

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has dismissed reports that he is mentally unstable.

Okorocha, speaking on Tuesday, August, 23, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, after returning from a two-week vacation said he traveled to the United States of America to see his grandson, according to Daily Post reports.

He said: “No, I have never been sick at all, I have never been sick. I am always healthy. I am not in a hurry to go (laughs). I am very healthy and I have never been to any hospital. I am fine and strong. I don’t know where the rumour comes from but it is nothing to write home about.

“I have never been to hospital, I’m fine, I’m healthy and as you can see, I’m more relaxed than ever.

“I did two weeks plus, I know, they are not used to me going out. They are not used to me travelling and they saw this, I don’t blame them. But everything is okay and I’m back again to resume work.”

Recall that the following reports that Governor Rochas Okorocha was slapped by a ghost, the Imo state government denied that the governor was in an Indian hospital for medical treatment.

According to NTA, Okorocha’s media aide said that his boss is a Christian, and does not know what it means to see “a ghost or ghost women”.

Similarly, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, the chief press secretary to Okorocha, blamed the report on what he tagged the antics of some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) folks in the state.

Christianity Etc › Bromleigh McCleneghan: Sex Before Marriage Is Good by Jethrolite(op): 12:54pm On Aug 24, 2016
A pastor has authored a book which says it’s okay for singles to indulge in sex before marriage, Christian or not.

Having sex outside marriage even though accepted by society, is frowned upon by christians. An author, Bromleigh McCleneghan, has attempted to explain why it may be okay to actually indulge in ‘guilt-free’ sex even as a single christian who doesn’t conform to the world (okay na).

According to her, it’s okay to have sex along as it’s “mutually pleasurable and affirming“. She also said it’s not by force to stay off sex, especially if you became single by circumstance.

The married mother of three who is also an associate pastor at the Union Church of Hinsdale in Chicago, USA, said it’s also great to be faithful to your sexual partner, even if you are both unmarried.

Here’s what she said below:

“If we refrain from having sex that isn’t mutually pleasurable and affirming, that doesn’t respect the sacred worth of ourselves and our partners…Chastity, or just sex, requires that whether we are married or unmarried, our sex lives restrain our egos, restrain our desire for physical pleasure when pursuing it would bring harm to self or other.”

What do you think?

why is she wasting her time and tax payers money on a 587mw solar plant that costs $9B?

"Ouarzazate Solar Power Station (OSPS), also called Noor Power Station (نور, Arabic for light) is a solar power complex located in the Souss-Massa-Drâa area in Morocco, 10 km from Ouarzazate town, in Ghessat rural council area. The entire Solar Project is planned to produce 580 MW at peak when finished and is being built in three phases and in four parts. Total project expected to cost $9 billion.[2]" -wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouarzazate_Solar_Power_Station
The sum is definitely inflated, just the way Elon Musk discovered the cost of space travel was highly inflated to discourage other nations getting into it. If Nigeria decides to concentrate on developing power by this means then the government should support alternative energy researchers with a bias for heliostats but the Nigerian factor will always come in and ruin everything.

How are you sure it is your own name on the list??

Many people share same names as you...

The only way to be sure is when you received a shortlisted confirmatory email from YES-P which was sent to all shortlisted applicants.

Check your spam folder if you have checked your inbox to confirmed you didn't missed the email sent out to all successful applicants.

If you can't find any email, the last options is:

Alternatively, you wait patiently for second email to be send: instruction on how to go about the second phase (online courses)
Do you know my name, you think it is some generic name like John Thomas? No, it is more like Oghenekewode Etakpobunor, such name sakes are rare or non existent. First batch mails were sent in batches so I will wait, besides I've written to EDC, let me get their response.

The net worth of the world’s richest person Bill Gates hit an all-time high of $90 billion on Friday, fueled by gains in public holdings including Canadian National Railway Company and Ecolab Inc. Gates’s fortune is now $13.5 billion bigger than that of the world’s second-wealthiest person, Spanish retail mogul Amancio Ortega, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. At $90 billion, the Microsoft Corp. co-founder’s net worth is equal to 0.5 percent of U.S. GDP.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why You Need To Make Heaven Your Primary Concern by Jethrolite(m): 7:45am On Aug 21, 2016
Jesuobu:
The thoughts of heaven alone gives you energy and can make you feel like flying without wings. It's the best source of motivation I have ever seen. When you think of heaven, fear dissappear and you get anxious to do good.

To do unbelievable things is simple. Take your mind out of this earth and put all your focus on heaven. It’s analogous to focusing on the finish line instead of just your next step in an athletic race. That’s what Usain Bolt does. I have made heaven my goal and the motivation I get now is not a synthetic one but divine. Unbelievable wisdom and understanding.

Read Matthew 6:33 and you will know why this is so.

And it says Matthew 6:33 and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern
Inheriting the new Earth is my concern. Do you really think there is still space for you in heaven? We should focus on staying on God's side because we want to and not because of heaven. Everybody wants to go to heaven then who inherits the new Earth? You think God has forgotten the reason He created Adam in the first place. I don't know about you but I'm a very realistic person, from the day of Adam to now, do you think there's still vacancy in the 144, 000 from the 12 tribes, even if there is, honestly search yourself, do you believe you posses the grace.

In the end, it's not for us to decide and it's better you settle for the lesser option which by the way is still an amazing offer.

That's because he is a liar. People who have no single idea about the program go online to do copy and paste. No whistle blower will be taken seriously until the program actually fails. People just hate the success of others for no reason and feel everyother person should be struggling like them. There are so many disclaimers on the website advising members to use spare money. I'll rather put my money in it than use it for betting.

I don't understand her kind of economics, increasing tariff discourage importation which means many jobs will be lost. Grimaldi has sacked almost 80% of their drivers because few people still import Cars.

High Tariff means low revenue. Why not reduce tariff to encourage importation so you can generate more revenue since we can't manufacture Cars in Nigeria for now.

Phones › Re: Why Glo Will Lose The Data Wars! by Jethrolite(m): 7:06am On Aug 20, 2016
Politicalidiot:
Today after almost a week of testing, I have finally gotten tired of Glo. Now, it is necessary to note at this junction that I am a heavy user of all the networks - MTN (2 Sims), Airtel (2 Sims), Etisalat (1 sim) and Glo (1 recent sim). Like everyone within the past 2 months, I had been inundated with the recent Glo data offers (#1000 for a Bazillion gb). So exactly on monday this week, I decided to take the bite and try out Glo again (after an almost 3yr hiatus).
Its been 4days now, and even though I hardly write, I had to sit down and pen these cogent reasons on why Glo will be the loser of the data Wars.

1. Super Poor Network Connection: Yes. As everyone knows, Glo and poor network are 5 & 6 and its only someone working in Glo office that will tell you otherwise. Get used to super slow network the likes you probably haven't seen since the late 2000s. I could wager my money that even the Airtel 2g is faster that Glo 3g at times. Proof? A simple Google or Nairaland search will convince you (check the post date.)

2. Frequent Disconnection: During my few days of Data hell, it was as if Glo owned my phone. What with the frequent data disconnections and network vanishing at intervals. I had never experienced such sorcery prior to Glo. This may have been the end of my sorrows until....

3. GPS: Remember when I said it was as if Glo owned my phone? Yea right. They had to one up themselves didn't they? Any time I put on my data connection, so would My GPS be unceremoniously turned on. I suspected foul play on Glo 's part and a simple Google search brought me to this page on NL - https://www.nairaland.com/2899604/gps-keeps-turning-automatically-after/1 confirming my suspicion. Glo was the culprit!!! Did anyone inform Glo I played Pokemon Go? Wetin person dey use GPS do for naija? I tire.

Glo seriously just had to know where I was. huh . Even if you turn it off, within a minute it was back again. And God help you if you sleep off without putting off your data. Just kiss your fully charged battery Goodbye. Especially in this era that Nepa doesn't have joyhuh

This was the last straw. I couldn't take it again (I probably will until my subscription expires Sunday. So, yes. I posted this with Glo). A bad User experience coupled with poor network? Glo is silently but surely heading for the data Gallows.
I like that you wrote this just in case there are still areas with poor connection because presently, Glo is very fast. I remember those days when my 24 hours subscription would only browse from 12am but now I stream video and games without issues.

PR stunt, those drivers receive bonus based on trips made. That's the reason for the frequent accidents and not their driving skills.
