PoliticsAtiku Outperforms Peter Obi, Tinubu On Positive Ratio Metrics - Vanguardngr by JEWELofHELL(op): 10:25am On Jul 09, 2022
A new study has revealed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has outperformed the two other major presidential candidates – Peter Obi of Labour Party and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC – on positive ratio metrics in all the mentions from all discussions about the presidential candidates across all media platforms and fora reviewed.

According to the report which adopted Artificial Intelligence tools to analyse 500,000 mentions of the candidates on both traditional and social media within a one-month period, it revealed that although Atiku Abubakar has less mentions on Twitter, as compared to Peter Obi, he, however, got more positive sentiments from people than the duo of Tinubu and Peter Obi.

This means that people who discussed the candidates said more positive things about Atiku Abubakar than they did for Peter Obi and even expressed lesser positive sentiments about Tinubu.

The 46-page document by CustomReport, an independent research body, was titled the “Brand Insights: Atiku Abubakar’s Online presence compared to Peter Obi’s and Bola Tinubu’s.”

In trying to analyze the politicians’ online presence, the study covered areas such as the positive ratio of the total mentions in discussions about the presidential candidates; the volume and reach of discussions about them, the performance of the discussion sources and the most engaging posts talking about the most engaging moments about them.

Meanwhile, the research relied on a methodology that excludes posts about the candidates that are not in English language.

It also used five metrics to base the generated data for the analysis, and the metrics includes: negative/positive sentiments in the posts about them; Mentions and source; social media interactions, posts reach and presence score.

Similarly, it monitored the official Facebook profiles and other social media pages and handles sharing relevant contents about the candidates, digging deep into about 500 thousand posts from 28th of May, 2022 to the 25th of June, 2022 to arrive at its findings.

According to the report on Cracktechnology, Atiku’s Twitter handle has more followers than the duo of Peter Obi and Tinubu, he is, however, slightly less mentioned in comments in comparison to Peter Obi on Twitter.

Nevertheless, it revealed that despite being slightly less mentioned, Atiku got more favourable comments than the other candidates.

“Twitter is the fundamental source in building Peter Obi’s and Bola Tinubu’s Reach. While Atiku’s reach on Twitter is slightly less than Obi’s, his sentiment on Twitter is much more positive than competitors.” the study said.

Also, the report revealed that on Facebook, while Atiku has same post reach with Peter Obi, he, however, has the highest volume of post mentions than Tinubu and Obi.

Likewise Atiku’s Instagram “post mention generated more Reach than a single mention in any other source.”

Moreover, in analyzing the political popularity of the candidates based on the indices above, the report said that in terms of emotionally charged mentions, while Tinubu and Peter Obi had only about 25% positive mentions in all the conversations in the month under review on all the platforms studied, Atiku Abubakar had 55% positive mentions in all the discussions from people talking about the candidates.

It noted that the most popular mentions about the three candidates referred to them as ‘president.’

“In every case, the most popular topics of discussion were recognised as those within which people referred to the politicians as presidents,” said the study.

Conversely, in terms of negative mentions, the study revealed that both Peter Obi and Tinubu had more negative mentions than Atiku Abubakar.

While Atiku had just 50% negatively charged content about him, both Tinubu and Peter Obi respectively had 90% negatively charged content about them.
Also, www.cracktechnology.com noted that the report found out that Twitter was the major source of negative discussions about the three candidates.

“However, in Bola Tinubu’s and Peter Obi’s cases – negatives noticeably outweighed positives, accounting for 79% and 77% of all emotionally charged mentions. In Abubakar’s case, the sentiment distribution tilted in favour of positives, which accounted for approximately 55% of all sentiment-bearing mentions,” the study noted.

Again, the report found out that Facebook was equally very significant in generating positive mentions about the former Vice President.

It said “…there were approximately 1.8 thousand of them recorded, which exceeds the number of positive Facebook mentions about Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi altogether.”

In terms of videos, Atiku equally took the lead in positive mentions as compared to Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu.

“Atiku’s sentiment was way better than Bola Tinubu’s or Peter Obi’s. All of Atiku Abubakar’s top 5 topics of discussion were recorded to have favourable values of Positive Ratio, indicating the superiority of the number of positives over the number of negatives.”

“In Bola Tinubu’s and Peter Obi’s cases – every topic recognized was characterized by unfavorable values of Positive Ratio, with the number of negatives being much higher than the number of positives.”

On Post Reach:

According to the report on Cracktechnology, although Twitter generated the largest volume of mentions for Peter Obi, the mentions do not translate as much to very significant positive value as the wide reach, solely because majority of those organizing discussions generating such mentions are from, though numerous, but low-sized and average-profile individuals.

However, “on average, a single mention about Atiku had 89% higher Reach than the content on Tinubu,” the report said.

Atiku’s Most Engaging Posts:

In terms of engagement mentions, the Wazirin Adamawa garnered more positive engagements from Facebook posts as compared to the ex-Anambra governor and ex-Lagos governor whose chunk of engaging mentions came from Twitter channels and TikTok videos respectively.

Atiku’s highest engaging post on Facebook was about his choice of a running mate on the 16th of June. That post generated about 8 million visits and 312,409 thousand interactions on Facebook alone.

Following this post were others like posts on May 28, announcing Atiku’s emergence as the presidential candidate of the PDP which generated 163,768 interactions and over a million post visits on Facebook alone; and his June 15th post about playing host to the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, which generated about 4 million visits and 38.8k post interactions.

Bola Tinubu’s Most Engaging Posts:
For Bola Tinubu, his most engaging post was that on TikTok by a Tiktoker, ElectionUpdatesNG on 3rd June, 2022 which posted a video where Tinubu asked stakeholders to elect him for president.

The video generated 2.2 million post visits and 85.5k post interactions.

Also, coming second highest for Tinubu was another TikTok post by TikToker, Bodealawiye on June 4, which generated 1.4 million post visits and 80.3k interactions.

A third post about Tinubu, was yet on TikTok by Fidebrightajor1 on 22nd June which generated 550.1k post visits and 32.2k post interactions.

Peter Obi’s Most Engaging Posts:
For Peter Obi, his most engaging post was by him on Facebook wherein on the 14 of June, he announced he was departing for Egypt on a 3-day visit to comparable countries with Nigeria.

That post generated about 7.1 million post visits and 70.7 thousand interactions.

Also, his Facebook post on 13th June urging, especially his supporters, to accord due respect to every other candidate generated 4.7 million visits and 47.2 thousand post interactions.

A third post about PO with the highest engagement was that by a Twitter user, Ayomide Tayo, with handle, @AOT2, urging other supporters to not only vote for PO but also vote for other Labour Party candidates for other political positions.

On Instagram:
“Atiku’s average reach per single Instagram mention was 28% higher than competitors’, (i.e., 25.9K to 20.8 and 19.9).”

This summary was written by Mr Eta Uso. Uso is the Special Assistant, Digital Media Operations, to the former vice president, H.E Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON.

Who were the people insulting, abusing, and threatening other Nigerians before Peter Obi? Think! You know. Are you still seeing them? No. There is a reason why. They just changed their name from what you once knew, to Obidients. They changed name, but not behaviour!

#TableShaker

Look at their strategy. Propaganda, insults, abuses and threats. They have always had a well oiled social media propaganda unit. They are organised cyber bullies. They criticise others, but don’t want to be criticised. They are worse than Buhari and his Buharists

#TableShaker

This is who they are! This is what they wish for Nigeria. They are violent. They are part of an organisation supporting violence. They brought their violent behaviour to Peter Obi and became his Obidients. They picked on the wrong person when they picked on me!

Look at what they have been circulating out of frustration. My handle is @renoomokri. This handle (which they created for propaganda purposes) is @renoomokiri.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has unveiled his meal plan and detailed food timetable for all Nigerians.

According to him, the timetable is necessary because it'll help farmers make more money.

The timetable is broken down into two periods: lunch and dinner.

For lunch, Mr Tinubu recommends Cassava, Garri and Ewa. While Eba is reserved for Dinner.

As for those who want to eat Agbado and corn, they would have to join the army.

If Peter Obi presidency is the will of Satan, so be it...
PoliticsPeter Obi: The Labour Party Candidate Electrifying Young Nigerians - BBC by JEWELofHELL(op): 10:58am On Jul 05, 2022
A wealthy businessman with a reputation for being frugal, Peter Obi has emerged as a powerful force ahead of Nigeria's presidential election next February, energising voters with messages of prudence and accountability that are amplified by an army of social media users.

In a country that seems to always be on the lookout for a messiah to solve its myriad problems, young social media-savvy supporters have elevated Mr Obi to sainthood and are backing his largely unknown Labour Party against two septuagenarian political heavyweights.

His name is often trending on social media on the back of numerous conversations sparked by his supporters, instantly recognisable from their display picture of his image or the white, red and green logo of his party.

These are mostly urban under-30s who refer to themselves as the "Coconut-head generation", because they are strong-willed, independent-minded and contemptuous of older politicians who, they say, have done little for them.

Many of them, like Dayo Ekundayo from the eastern city of Owerri, were involved in the EndSars protests that forced the disbandment of a notorious police department two years ago and also morphed into calls for better government.

Now, they are deploying the same strategies that mobilized hundreds of thousands of young Nigerians and raised millions of naira within weeks for the 60-year-old who they consider an alternative to the two parties that have dominated politics since the end of military rule in 1999.

"Which Nigerian politician has ever held office and has his integrity intact? I do not see any other logical option for young people in Nigeria," said Mr Ekundayo.

He has already been involved in a march for Mr Obi, and is providing logistics and mobilising students for the campaign as he did during the EndSars protests.

But opponents say Mr Obi is a political impostor, one of many who spring up at election time with delusions of being a third force that will wrestle power from the traditional parties.

Many supporters of the main opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) and neutral observers agree he is head and shoulders above the other candidates, but say he lacks the nationwide popularity to win the election and have warned his supporters that they risk wasting their votes.

They believe he is a distraction from the common goal of removing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from office, and could split the opposition vote.

A devout Catholic from eastern Nigeria, they point to his lack of popularity in the Muslim-dominated north, whose votes are considered critical in winning presidential elections.

And his critics question whether he truly represents a break from the corruption he routinely lambasts, pointing out that his name popped up in the leaked Pandora Papers which exposed the hidden wealth of the rich and powerful in 2021.

While he was not accused of stealing money, he failed to declare offshore accounts and assets held by family members, citing ignorance.

He was also accused of investing state funds, as governor, into a company he had dealings with. He denied any wrongdoing and points out that the value of the investment has since grown.

Mr Obi repeatedly says he is not desperate to be president, which is ironic for a man who has changed parties four times since 2002.

He dumped the PDP just days before its presidential primary in May and the party went on to choose the 75-year-old former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential flagbearer.

Critics say he pulled out of the contest because he knew his chances of winning were slim but he cited wrangling within the PDP, where he was a vice-presidential candidate in 2019, for deciding to cross over to the Labour Party.

His supporters are also convinced that he was pushed out of the PDP because he refused to bribe delegates at the party primary and have coined the phrase: "We don't give shishi (money)" as a buzzword for his famed frugality and his prudence in managing government funds in a country with a history of wasteful expenditure by public officers.

They regard him as an unconventional politician prepared to take on the APC and PDP behemoths seen as different sides of the same coin, who they accuse of dipping their fingers into the public purse.

There is also a religious and ethnic twist to his candidacy.

In a country where roughly half the population is Christian, his supporters hope that this will bolster his chances of winning, as after eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari they would not want another Muslim - the APC's Bola Tinubu, 70, or the PDP's Mr Abubakar - to take office.

Some also support Mr Obi because of his ethnic background. Igbos make up the country's third largest ethnic group, but Nigeria has had only one Igbo president, largely ceremonial, since it freed itself from British colonial rule in 1960.

Many Igbos accuse successive Nigerian governments of marginalising them and hope that Mr Obi will rise to power so that the south-east, where most of them live, would see greater development and so counter the pull of secession groups like the Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob).

A philosophy graduate, he worked in his family's retail businesses before going on to make his own money, importing everything from salad cream to beauty products, and baked beans to champagne, while also owning a brewery and holding major shares in three commercial banks.

You can normally recognise a Nigerian billionaire from a mile off but Mr Obi is thrifty and wears it as a mark of pride.

He is quick to point out that he owns just two pairs of black shoes from midmarket British chain Marks and Spencer, prefers a $200 suit from Stein Mart to a $4,000 Tom Ford suit, and always insists on carrying his own luggage, rather than paying someone else to do it for him.

Even his children are not spared his frugality. His 30-year-old son was denied a car, he said, while his other child is a happy primary school teacher - a rarity in a country where a politician's name often opens doors to more lucrative jobs.

The OBIdients
Despite the financial controversy, his tenure as governor of Anambra state has become a reference point for his presidential campaign.

His supporters point out that he invested heavily in education and paid salaries on time - the simple things that most Nigerian state governors tend to neglect.

He also left huge savings in state coffers at the end of his two four-year tenures, another rarity.

But Frances Ogbonnaya, a university student in Anambra state when Mr Obi was governor, is surprised by the praises being sung in his name, describing his tenure as unremarkable.

"Who saves money in the face of hunger? Who saves money in the face of a lack of facilities?" she asked rhetorically.

But it is his reputation for frugality and sound management that has attracted a horde of supporters, known as OBIdients.

Some have been accused of cyberbullying and labelling anyone who does not vote for him in next year's election an enemy of the state.

He responded with a tweet calling on his supporters to "imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship", but it has done little to calm them down.

They are quick to show anyone who tells them that elections aren't won on Twitter, the crowds at offices of Nigeria's electoral body where they have been flooding to register as first-time voters.

But this is not the same as actually turning out to vote on election day.

With months to the election, there is no denying the momentum building behind Mr Obi but cynics also point to the lack of a nationwide party structure to support the view that, while possible, an Obi presidency remains highly improbable.

He retorts that his structure is "the 100 million Nigerians that live in poverty [and] the 35 million Nigerians who don't know where their next meal will come from".

If half of those turn out to vote him on election day, it might very well be all that he needs.

The mass defection of Northerners from our great party, the APC, to the opposition PDP is giving me heart attack. The other day, 100,000 APC members defected to PDP. Then 3000, then 20,000 and now 5000. This is very heartbreaking.

Northerners should please consider the Yorubas. Don‘t abandon us in APC. Remember how we helped you bring Buhari to power. It‘s time to return the favor. Please.

I also heard that Atiku is negotiating with some of the Northern governors in APC. Northerners, please. Don‘t abandon us. Our neighbors SE and SS aren‘t happy with us because we supported your son, Buhari. So please don‘t abandon Yoruba in APC.

That means the above threads that have random tweeps as sources shouldn't be allowed.

For this reason, I am disassociating myself from the threads for moral reason and to prove I am not against any candidate.

PoliticsIgbo Elders Endorse Peter Umeadi Of APGA For President by JEWELofHELL(op): 7:04pm On Jun 24, 2022
Igbo Elders and Leaders in the South West have endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Peter Umeadi, for the 2023 election.

At a reception held in Lagos on Friday to welcome the presidential candidate who is a former Chief Judge of Anambra State, the chairman of the occasion, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi, said Prof. Umeadi and his running mate, Abdullahi Mohammed, have answers to Nigeria’s problems and are prepared to work hard to reposition Nigeria in four years.

At the end of reception, the leaders issued a communique saying that Prof. Umeadi has displayed the highest level of professionalism, courage and incorruptibility expected of a president.

The communique read: “We the Igbo elders and leaders in the South-West zone having followed the political trend in our country and its consequences thereof, if not carefully checked, may lead to chaos and the total collapse of our nascent democratic institution in Nigeria.

“As a result, we welcome the presidential candidate of APGA, a jurist and former Chief Justice of Anambra State, Prof. Peter Umeadi and applaud his effort for consulting widely beyond the South East, 19 states in the North, South West and other zones in the country.

“Prof. Umeadi and his running mate, Abdullahi Mohammed, have answers to Nigeria’s problems and are prepared to work hard to reposition Nigeria in four years. We have found them the most credible of all the presidential candidates.

“They have exhibited admirable level of courage by stepping out to contest for Nigeria’s highest political office on APGA platform in the 2023 election.

“As a former Chief Judge of Anambra State, Prof. Umeadi displayed the highest level of professionalism, courage and incorruptibility expected of a president.

“Prof. Umeadi’s antecedents potrayed him as a detribalised Nigerian with admirers from all parts of Nigeria and therefore will enable him secure votes from the Northern and Southern parts of the country. We therefore urge Nigerians to give APGA at all levels their support to make him and his running mate realise their dream for the benefit, progressive advancement and progress of Nigeria.”

Reacting the mother of the day, Barr Udeaku Sheldas Lulu-Briggs, appreciated the presidential candidate for his unfailingly efforts to contribute his quota to the development of the country.

She said, “Nigeria needs his wealth of experience as former Chief Judge of the Anambra state saying it is a privilege to have him as the presidential candidate in 2023.

“He is a man that respect rule of law. “Rule of law is eroded in Nigeria. Nigeria does everything with impunity. We agreed that the presidency should be rotated to the South East but today everything has been thrown open.
“It is a slap our faces that politicians want to take our right from us as Igbo. it is the turn of the Igbos to become president in Nigeria”, she said.

Meanwhile, the vice presidential candidate, Comrade Abdullahi Mohammed, who was the former Labour leader, Bauchi state, urged the Igbos to support the candidacy of Umeadi. “We want Nigeria to be one. Nigeria needs people like Professor. He is a gentle man.

“We need someone who will be the mouthpiece of the masses. There is nothing you will do to politicians than to vote him in your locality. We must all ensure we have our PVCs. Encourage your people to get their PVCs”, he said.

Responding, the presidential candidate, Prof. Peter Umeadi begged the Igbos in the South West for their support. ‘I am begging you. There is no other thing to say.

“I have not seen this type of gathering before and I am promising you that you will not be ashamed of your support.
“You came out in your number to support me. I am happy with the support from the calibre of people I see.

PoliticsIt May Be Your Turn In APC But Not For Nigerians - Aliyu Scolds Tinubu by JEWELofHELL(op): 2:54pm On Jun 21, 2022
A former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, has said that the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, should not waste his time and resources in contesting for president.

According to Aliyu during an interview on Channels TV on Tuesday, Tinubu should have supported a younger candidate like the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi to win the party’s presidential ticket.

“Bola Tinubu a good friend, I don't think he should waste his time now, and I think he should reserve his resources for another thing and I thought that it would have been better for him to have sponsored younger people into this win. He has the governor of Ekiti, Fayemi, he has other young people that he could have sponsored and allowed it happen, no matter what he thought he could do to Nigeria, these people would do it better,” Aliyu said.

Aliyu also reiterated that the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, would have been the best candidate for the APC presidential ticket because he had learnt enough lessons as the Vice President.

"His (Tinubu’s) outburst in Abeokuta; I don't think any person can say in Nigeria of today of 200million people, this is my turn. It is never your turn; even if you want to say, it's the turn of the people or of your own, let's even put it that way, then put all what that's has happened given all the ethnic groups in Nigeria, the North-East, North-Central, South-East has never had a presidency in Nigeria, even if that's a claim to be made; these are the zones that could make such a claim but for you to think because you have helped somebody to be and therefore it must be your turn, agreement was not written. There was no evidence that there was an agreement that was written for somebody to say it's my turn.

“If it's your turn in the APC that's your own problem but that's not for Nigerians. Nigerians will come to decide what is best for them given what we have gone through,” Babangida noted.

PoliticsBREAKING: Yagba East APC Chairman Commits Suicide by JEWELofHELL(op): 8:32pm On Jun 07, 2022
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ponyan Ward, Yagba East Local Government Area, Bunmi David Ipinnaiye is dead.

Ipinnaiye allegedly committed suicide in the cell of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) cell.

DAILY POST gathered that Ipinnaiye was arrested by officers and men of the (NSCDC) for attempted murder of his son who was said to be fraternizing with some boys who are allegedly involved in social vices.

It was also gathered that the deceased had attacked his son with a machete on their way to the farm and the incident was reported to the Civil Defence, which led to his arrest.

Sources, who spoke to DAILY POST under the condition of anonymity, said upon interrogation, the late APC Chairman refused to respond to questions and was left in one of the rooms in the security outfit office.

When the officers returned to resume interrogation, he was found dead after using his belt to commit suicide by hanging himself.

Efforts to confirm the incident from the Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Command of NSCDC, Alex Agiri, proved abortive as his phone was switched off.

PoliticsShehu Sani Urges Tinubu To Join Atiku, Says APC is Unfair, Unjust by JEWELofHELL(op): 7:13pm On Jun 07, 2022
Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has advised All Progressives Chieftain, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pitch his tent with PDP presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar.

Sani via a post on Facebook said that Tinubu played a pivotal role in helping Buhari to secure the presidential seat in 2015.

However, he stated that the APC does not like Tinubu and advised him to leave the party while also insisting that he pledges his allegiance to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate.

He wrote, ‘’The APC is unfair and unjust to Asiwaju. Allah made Buhari president but Asiwaju played a pivotal role. I have been in some meetings when Asiwaju frequented Kaduna.

Unfortunately, people like us have left the party we could have lent him our unwavering support. I would never have sat on the fence or keep quiet. But the truth is evident they don’t like Asiwaju. Let him join the Atiku train,’’ he added.
