Nairaland GeneralCustomers To Pay A Flat Fee Of N6.98 Per Transaction Every Time They Use USSD by jgurus(op): 5:00pm On Mar 16, 2021
Nigerians will now pay for using the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data services (USSD).
This comes after the The Central Bank of Nigeria on Tuesday introduced new charges for customers using USSD services.
The apex bank said effective Tuesday, customers will pay a flat fee of N6.98 per transaction every time they use USSD services.
It said the new charges was part of the agreement reached when banks and telecommunication operators met on Monday to discuss the N42bn debt owed mobile operators by banks.
This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday and jointly signed by the apex bank’s Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Osita Nwanisobi; and Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Ikechukwu Adinde.
It partly read, “We are pleased to announce that after comprehensive deliberations on the key issues, a resolution framework acceptable to all parties was agreed thus:

“Effective March 16, 2021, USSD services for financial transactions conducted at DMBs (Deposit Money Banks Business) and all CBN-licensed institutions will be charged at a flat fee of N6.98 per transaction. This replaces the current per session billing structure, ensuring a much cheaper average cost for customers to enhance financial inclusion. This approach is transparent and will ensure the amount remains the same, regardless of the number of sessions per transaction.

“To promote transparency in its administration, the new USSD charges will be collected on behalf of MNOs (Mobile Network Operators) directly from customers’ bank accounts. Banks shall not impose additional charges on customers for us of the USSD channel.”
The Federal Government had last week asked telecommunication operators to put on hold, their impending suspension of USSD services over a N42bn debt owed by banks.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, had convened a meeting with financial institutions and mobile network operators on Monday.
The CBN said the new fee was part of the resolution reached at the meeting.

CelebritiesDavido Will Be Shot Dead On Stage – Ghanaian Prophet by jgurus(op): 4:23pm On Mar 13, 2021

”That young man is the target of the enemy. We pray for vigilance for him and pray that the Lord will give him sobriety and vigilance.

Foreign AffairsNiger Republic Under Fire After Mohamed Bazoum Was Declare Winner by jgurus(op): 12:18pm On Mar 05, 2021
After weeks Mohamed Bazoum was announce the winner of the country election, there has been serious war that the country has shutdown internet connection enslaving everyone, so that the international community wouldn’t know what is going on.

a lady share this news via telephone call she doesn’t want her name to be mention. she said for the past weeks, they has not be able to access internet, because the people in authority doesn’t want the Mohamed Bazoum as president, she is pleading for the international community to come to their rescue and free them from this bondage.

It beat my imagination how greedy African leaders are so desperate to remain in power, because their evil and selfish they have to shutdown the internet connection, so people would be able to post what is happening over there. International bodies should swift into action because people are suffering in Niger Republic.

PoliticsGovenor Wike Says Petroleum Industry Should Not Pay Less Than 10 Percent To Host by jgurus(op): 8:50am On Mar 05, 2021
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has advocated not less than 10 percent fund allocation to host communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill that is still before the National Assembly.
Governor Wike said it is also necessary that the bill state in clear terms what specific development projects that the allocated fund should be spent on, so that development of host communities can be truly actualised.
The governor gave the charge when the members of the National Assembly Committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill, visited him at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Thursday.
Governor Wike stated that oil bearing communities have suffered the loss of their livelihood, good drinking water and their sociocultural life disrupted because of the insensitivity of the International Oil companies (IOCs).
“It unfortunate that people produce oil but they live in poverty. I believe that this Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) committee will make recommendation of how certain percent must be given to the host oil communities.
“There are issues of education and health. Don’t just say 10 percent to the oil host communities. It must be tied to specific projects so that whoever is in charge will know it.
“So that he or she does not have the prerogative to initiate, like during Christmas, to buy and give 20 thousand bags of rice and tag it as project.
“Let it also not be that host community people will have this money, and you begin to see assassinations among themselves.”
“I have found out that part of the problem we have in communities is that they allow these oil companies to divide them. They cause crisis among them; divide and rule. That is the pattern of IOCs, particularly Shell.”
According to the governor, the mistakes found with the act establishing the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) should be avoided because it did not specify what projects the Commission should embark on in the Niger Delta.
“This same thing that has happened to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) should not happen to the issues of host communities in PIB.

Congratulations on finishing as the winner at our TIG Face of the month online Contest, Can you tell us about yourself?

My name is Ogechi Christian, I am a native of ogba in Rivers State, I am the third child but second daughter of my parents. I am studying Human Anatomy in the University of Port Harcourt.
I am brown skinned, with a black colour hair, and brownish eyes

The course you are studying is so demanding, how will you cope with your modeling career?

First of all, I believe with hard work and perseverance, one could achieve anything. In order to balance my modelling career, my studies and my everyday life I will avoid procrastination, because it only leads to piling up works, I will also avoid multi tasking which could break one down, I will avoid unnecessary distractions and utilize my time and effort in creative things and if course I will stick to schedule.

What motivated you to become a model?

Modelling has always been something I wished to do in life from when I was little but the circumstances that surrounded me took me off that track but I never left the dream, because as a black African woman, I am motivated everyday by my skin color, I want to show the world that being a black is beautiful, is a blessing and I want to also help those ladies out dear who are not comfortable with their skin color as black women to own up to it and acknowledge that they are beautiful and no one from any race should discourage them from loving themselves because of the way they are, I want to show the world that I'm confident in my skin tone and will not change it because of racism or any other adverse pressure from anywhere.

What’s your biggest fear in life and how have you handled it?

My biggest fear in life is failure. I always had this mindset that whatever I venture into should yield me an excellent result at first trial but I later found out that life is not all about winning, one can also enjoy and learn from the experiences , because of my fear, I have missed so many opportunities, because I'm always afraid of failing, so I don't even give a try to something I want to do. But as time went on I realized that not even trying means one has failed and most times in life trying new things may end up putting you on the level you are supposed to be even if you don't come out as the winner, it can be an open door or opportunity for you to finally get to the point where you are supposed to be, so I worked on mindset and it is really paving ways for me.

Do you have any mentor or someone you look up to?

Chantelle Whitney Brown is the woman I look up to because of how confident and courageous she is, even with her skin condition, she still strived and worked herself to the top as a model.

Who is the most influential person in your life?

The most influential person in my life is my Dad. My Mom has influenced me too, like a whole lot

Who is that one influential person you want to meet and what do you want to learn from him/her?

The most influential person I want to meet is Morgan Freeman, the American actor, director, producer and narrator. I want to learn how to be more patient and how to persevere in order to get my breakthrough, because these are one of the characteristics he portrayed through his struggle, Before he had his way.

What’s your relationship status?

Single

CelebritiesI Charges American Artistes 26 Million Naira For A Verse – Davido by jgurus(op): 11:55am On Nov 21, 2020
Sensational singer, Davido has revealed the amount he charges American artistes for a verse.
In a recent interview with Dot on ‘The Dotty Show’ off Apple Music 1, Davido spoke about working American singer, Stevie Wonder. “Okay. Listen, let me tell you. With Stevie, okay, Stevie Wonder’s a legend, of course. If he met me, he wouldn’t do it. He would want to do it off the jump. But with labels, there’s always maybe a little fee, like some lawyer fee, lawyer fees and stuff like that to get the paperwork done. But outside of that, nah, we not doing none of that… Yo, right now, I’m charging American artists for songs. I am. I’m charging American artists for songs right now. Two American artists done pay me $70,000 for a verse.”

The “FEM” singer also spoke about not paying for collaborations. He says, “I mean, at a point in my career I believed that, “Let’s just give him money. Let’s just give him money. Let’s just do the record.” But after a while it just never came into play anymore.

“That’s why I said the relationship with this, I’ll have a relationship with this artist, it’s very important. It’s past the music. Even apart from the music, having a relationship with them is very important so they don’t bring things like this last minute, “Oh, money.” A lot of them know I do it. A lot of them know my situation.

“I wouldn’t lie to you. I come from a background of money, but now, I mean, I make the best music ever. It’s like, “Let’s make music. That’s why we’re here.” Later on when we make money from the music, I might be like, “Hey man, I just made $200,000 from that song. I don’t really need it. Yo, you can have it.” You know what I’m saying?”

Foreign AffairsTrump And His Allies Have Won Zero Out Of The 21 Election Fraud Lawsuits by jgurus(op): 9:13am On Nov 20, 2020
The Trump Campaign And Other Republican Groups Have Mounted 21 Legal Challenges Since Election Day, Alleging “Rigged” Election Marred By “Major Fraud” From Democrats.

However, Trump Has Won None Of The Lawsuits. The Lawsuits Argue That States And Counties Have Violated Election Laws.

Republicans Have Filed The Lawsuits In Local, State, And Federal Courts In Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, And Pennsylvania — All States That Biden Won Or Is Projected To Win, According To Decision Desk HQ Data Published By Insider And AP.

The Trump Campaign Initially Had A Single Win, When A Pennsylvania Judge Ruled On November 12 That First-Time Voters Were Supposed To Confirm Their IDs With County Boards Of Election By November 9, Rather Than November 12. The Decision Opened The Door To Disqualify The Ballots Of People Who Didn’t Verify Their IDs In Time. But The State Supreme Court Later Overturned That Decision.

That Leaves Trump And Other Republicans With 15 Cases They Have Withdrawn Or Lost, And 6 That Are Still Pending.

It all began when Blaqbonez wrote on Twitter that he loves Ms Banks and her voice. And surprisingly, Ms Banks quoted Blaqbonez’ tweet, stating that she loves him too. And adding that Blaq is very funny.

If you’re familiar with Blaq, you would know about his characteristic jesting on social media. But whether this particular tweet is one of those moments or not, it’s actually very beautiful to have Ms Banks tweeting back to him, ‘reciprocating’ his love declaration.

Anyway, we hope both rappers can together give us a song in future. It will be an awesome one.

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has placed N100 million on Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, south-south Nigeria.

Wike’s directive came after a clash between suspected IPOB members and security agents on Wednesday left two police officers killed. This was even as the IPOB members reportedly razed the Police Area Command, Obigbo, Afam Divisional Police Office, and a court, all in Oyigbo Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers.

Reacting to the development on Friday night in a statewide broadcast, Governor Wike placed N50 million bounty for the arrest of one Stanley Mgbere who allegedly led IPOB members to carry out the fatal attacks in Oyigbo.

The Rivers State governor said the proscribed group has continued to expand membership drive, holding meetings regularly, and expanding its logistical base.

“Security agencies are directed to stop any form of procession or agitation by IPOB in Rivers or any part thereof and arrest and prosecute any person or group that identifies with IPOB in the State. Government will issue executive order to strengthen effective enforcement of these measures.

“Today (Friday), IPOB continued with its devilish and destructive activities at Rumukwurushi, Iriebe and Oyigbo in open defiance of the State Government’s curfew on human movements,” Governor Wike said.

Displeased with Governor Wike’s decision, Kanu has doubled the bounty the Rivers governor placed on an IPOB leader in the state, placing N100 million on Governor Wike.

The IPOB leader placed the N100 million on Governor Wike on Sunday, days after his lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, issued a legal notice in reaction to Governor Wike‘s order on IPOB in Rivers state. continue reading

Alpha Conde Wins Third Term In Office In Controversial Guinean Presidential Election

President Alpha Conde Has Secured A Third Term In Office By Winning Guinea’s Controversial Presidential Election With 59.5 Percent Of The Vote.

The Electoral Authority President Kabinet Cisse Said Conde’s Main Opponent Cellou Dalein Diallo Polled 33.5 Percent Of The Vote.

The Announcement On Saturday October 24, Came After Days Of Deadly Violence In The Wake Of The October 18 Vote. While The Opposition Said 27 People Have Been Killed, Officials Have Put The Death Toll At About 10.

Doubting The Independence Of The Electoral Authority, Diallo Had On Monday October 19 Declared Himself Victorious Before The Results Were Announced. This Triggered Confrontations Between His Supporters And Security Forces.

In An Interview With DW’s French For Africa Service, Alpha Souleymane Ba Fisher A Lawmaker From The Ruling RPG Party, Accused Opposition Candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo Of Stoking Unnecessary Political Tension.

Fisher Said;

“He Invited His Activists To Take To The Streets And Attack People So That The Country Would Fall Into Chaos.”

In 2010, Conde Became Guinea’s First Democratically Elected Leader After Decades Of Military Rule. He Was Re-Elected In 2015. Before Becoming President, Conde Had Been A Long-Standing Opposition Figure Who Was Jailed And Exiled For His Views Against Guinea’s Military Government.

Diallo On The Other Hand, Is A Former Prime Minister Who Also Finished Runner-Up To Conde In The 2010 And 2015 Elections.

We Rushed A Lot Of Gunshot Victims To The Hospital But, I Personally Did Not See Any Dead Body – Filmmaker, Ideh Chukwuma

Nigerian Filmmaker, Ideh Chukwuma ‘One Soul’ Who Claims To Be One Of Those That Rushed Some Victims Of The Lekki Toll Gate Shooting To The Hospital Has Stated That He Never Saw Any Dead Body At The Scene.

The Filmmaker In An Interview With Premium Times Further Stated That He Has Also Not Seen A Family Member That Has Come To Cry And Say One Two Or Three Persons Have Died. He Added That If DJ Switch Had Seen That, She’s In The Best Position To Say That Because She Was There.

One Soul Said;

What I Will Say Is, I Have Been Hearing People Say “Lekki Massacre, Lekki Massacre.” I Have To Be Honest With You If You Google The Term “Massacre,” Massacre Is A Situation Where A Group Of People Were Being Killed By Rebels Or The Military And Going By That Particular Point, I Would Have Been Able To Tell You That I Saw A Lot Of Dead Bodies, This Is How They Killed Them, There Were A Lot Of Dead Bodies And So It Was A Massacre. But From The Time I Came, I Didn’t See Any Dead Bodies But I Can Certainly Tell You That There Was A Shooting, An Unauthorised Shooting. I Will Call It A Raid, I Will Call It Assault. I Am Going To Term It Assault And Raid. That Is What I Would Use. It Was An Assault And I And I May Be Wrong But Because I Didn’t See Those Bodies, And I Have Not Seen A Family Member That Has Come To Cry And Say One Two Or Three Persons Have Died.

If DJ Switch Had Seen That, She’s In The Best Position To Say That Because She Was There. I Cannot Say She’s Wrong. I Was Out Of That Circle. I Was A Few Meters Away. They Were At The Toll Gate And I Was A Few Meters Away From Them. I Wasn’t There, I Was At Lekki Phase 1. I Can’t Tell You What The Military’s Approach On Their Arrival Was. So, I Wouldn’t Be Able To Tell You That They Shot One, Two, Three, Four, Or Five People. But I Can Certainly Tell You That I Took A Lot Of Gunshot Victims To The Hospital.

If I Took About 13 People To The Hospital Myself, Minus The Ones That The Governor Confirmed That Were Injured, He Said About Thirty, That Is Forty-Something, DJ Switch Might Not Be Wrong. I Took 13 To The Hospital. So, If DJ Switch Said She Saw 15 Dead People, By Her Own Records, Because She Was There So She Can Speak On That Part. I Can’t Speak On That And None Of The Thirteen People That I Took To The Hospital Has Died. They Are Still Alive And Some Of Them Have Been Discharged.

He Also Recounted How The Soldiers Tried Stopping Him From Helping Victims Of The Shooting. One Soul Added;

For The Record, I Was Not At The Protest Ground With The Crowd Protesting When The Military Came Around So I Cannot Tell You What Guns They Were Shooting. But I Knew I Heard Gunshots And People Were Running. So, What Could Have Happened When I Was Not There, While I Was In My Car, I Don’t Know. It Was When I Came Back I Realised Everyone Was Running Helter-Skelter And I Saw People Falling Down. I Saw Blood, People Being Shot And It Was All Looking Bad So I Decided To Keep Going (Driving) And I Could See Clearly This Time That The Army Had Surrounded The Protesters. They Were Gathered Together Into A Circle And The Army Surrounded Them With Their Guns And They Were Still Singing The National Pledge While They Were Surrounded. They Saw My Car Coming And I Was Waving The Flag And One Of The Military Guys Was Shouting “ Go Back, Go Back” And I Wouldn’t Go Back And I Was Like I Want To Check Up On My Friends And They Shouted That I Should “ Go Back Now!” And Then I Saw A Lady That Was Shot On The Leg And Another Guy Who Was Shot In The Hand.

Yes, And They Saw Me Carry Wounded People In My Car. I Saw Another Guy Who Was Shot In The Hand But The Bullet Did Not Go Into His Arm But Bruised Him So I Carried The Three Of Them And Drove To Ajah. They Rejected Them. I Got To The Government Hospital And They Said It Was Only For Mother And Child. Then Doren Hospital, Ajah, Accepted Them And I Was Happy. I Told The Director That I Was Coming Back And I Then I Drove Back To Tollgate And They Were Still Shooting And I Came Down From The Car Raising My Hand Up And The Guy Kept Shooting And I Told Them I Wanted To Help People That Were Wounded And He Said No I Should Go Back And I Said, ‘‘Sir, I Cannot Go Back I Have To Check The Wounded People, And He Refused Then I Took Off My Clothes And I Said “ Sir, You Have To Shoot Me” Then He Cocked A Gun And Aimed It At Me And I Was Like I Will Not Leave If You Don’t Allow Me To Rescue These People. While He Aimed His Gun At Me, His Colleague Brushed Me And Hissed Then I Walked In There And Rescued Four Other People And Rushed Them To The Hospital.

When I Was Coming Back The Third Time, I Came With An Ambulance To Rescue More People. While I Was There, One Of The Guys Told Me That The Military Was Keeping The Wounded Or Dead People In Their Trucks. So What I Was Told Was That The Military Took Some People And That They Thought They Were Taking Them To The Military Hospital. I Don’t Know If It Is Possible That It Is True Or I Don’t Know. When I Came Back Again, I Told The Man (Soldier) That I Wanted To Carry More People In The Ambulance And I Helped More People In The Ambulance And They Were Taken To The Hospital.

https://tigblog.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/meet-the-first-vice-president-and-the-second-president-of-biafra-philip-asuquo-effiong.png

He was the man saddled with the suicidal job of meeting with the Nigerians after Biafra had lost steam. General Philip Asuquo Effiong was already a soldier the year Col. Olusegun Obasanjo was eight years old. He was commissioned before Generals Emeka Ojukwu and Yakubu Gowon.
When the chips were down, Gen. Effiong braved all odds to put the war to an end with the corollary humiliation, as Biafran Head of State. Ojukwu had joined the Grey Ghost to begin a life in exile. The erstwhile Biafran leader told his Chief of General Staff, he was travelling to Cote D’Ivoire in search of peace.

Thanks to Gen. Effiong, the war was brought to an end. This man who did so much for Biafra and Nigeria, unfortunately, has become largely forgotten by those who should celebrate him as a true hero. By bringing the crisis to an end he saved many lives and united the country once again.

Philip Asuquo Effiong, was the first Vice President and the second President of the now defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 to 1970.

Early life
Born in Ibiono Ibom in present-day Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, on 18 November 1925, Philip Effiong joined the Nigerian Armed Forces on 28 July 1945. He quickly rose through the ranks until on 11 January 1956 he received the Queen’s Commission following his officer cadet training at Eaton Hall in Chester. The UK later commissioned him for duty in the Rhine, West Germany. He was then transferred to the Nigeria Army Ordnance Corps; then to England for further training after a peace-keeping stint in the Republic of Congo in 1961. He was Nigeria’s first Director of Ordnance. His son is his namesake. continue reading

PoliticsRivers State Gov. Wike Declared Some IPOB Members Wanted by jgurus(op): 11:25pm On Oct 23, 2020
https://tigblog.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/rivers-state-gov-wike-declared-some-ipob-members-wanted.jpg

A State -wide broadcast Rivers state governor have declared some IPOB members in the state wanted for terrorist acts, continuing irritations, violence, destruction against the people of Rivers State.

read below:

My Dear Good People of Rivers State,

2. The Rivers State Government views with serious concern the unending destructive activities of the outlawed Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra (IPOB) in Rivers State.

3. Recall that the IPOB was classified as a terrorist organization by the Federal High Court and subsequently proscribed in September 2017 by the Federal Government.

4. However, despite its ban, the group has continued to operate in parts of the country, including Rivers State in furtherance of its alien political objectives.

5. Since its proscription, the group has carried out intermittent processions in parts of Rivers State, especially in Oyigbo and some notorious suburbs in Port Harcourt Local Government Areas.

6. More often than not, these illegal processions have become regular occasions for armed IPOB members to disturb the peace of the State by unleashing violence and destruction on lives and property at will.

7. The Rivers State Government had severally pleaded, warned and even advised IPOB and its members to discontinue its insurrectional actions in Rivers State to no avail.

8. Instead, we were all witnesses to yet, another orgy of violence and destruction inflicted by IPOB at Oyigbo Local Government Area and some parts of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Tuesday 21st October 2020.

9. This evil, wicked and audacious action resulted in the unnecessary loss of scores of lives, including soldiers and police officers, and the destruction of both public and private properties, including police stations, court buildings and business premises.

10. Not done, they also visited physical violence on members of some targeted community which, but, for the quick intervention of the State Government and the security agencies, would have resulted in some form of internecine bloodbath in the State.

11. Today, IPOB continued with its devilish and destructive activities at Rumukwurushi, Iriebe and Oyigbo in open defiance of the State Government’s curfew on human movements.

12. Security intelligence and surveillance have revealed that IPOB has continued to expand its membership drive, holding meetings regularly, and expanding its logistical base, including the maintenance of illegal detention cells in Emenike and other parts of Diobu, Port Harcourt.

13. As a matter of fact, Oyigbo town has practically become the group’s main operational base in Rivers State, from which they’ve become notorious for launching premeditated violence and terror on the State, businesses and innocent citizens.

14. As a people, we have become very much unsettled by the terrorist acts and endured the continuing irritations, violence, destruction and provocations of IPOB in and against the people of Rivers State.

15. We agree that Rivers State is part of Nigeria and has always been a home for all Nigerians and will continue to be because this is our true character.

16. But it must also be understood that Rivers State belongs to the indigenous people of Rivers State.

17. As a stranger element with strange political ideology therefore, IPOB has no legal or moral right to invade Rivers State or any part therefore at its behest; to disturb public peace; and subject lives and property to violence or threat of destruction under any guise.

18. What is clear from this behaviour is that our love, accommodation and hospitality towards all are being mistaken for weakness by the banned IPOB.

19. This being so, the time has come for us to sound this notice of warning that: enough is enough!!! We can no longer tolerate this IPOB evil monster in Rivers State. Never.

20. As a Government, we owe our people and all residents the responsibility to protect their lives, property and wellbeing and to prevent trouble-makers of all shades and character from violating our collective peace, security and pursuit of happiness.

21. Therefore, in view of the fact that IPOB has since been proscribed throughout Nigeria; and

22. Having come to the firm conclusion that the activities of the banned IPOB are not just dangerous to lives and property but also constitute clear and present threat to the existential interest and aspirations of Rivers State and all our people;

23. We have decided to reinforce, implement and enforce the existing judicial and national ban on IPOB by putting a total and complete stop to its presence and or activities in Rivers State or any part thereof.

24. Accordingly, as from today 23rd October 2020, the Rivers State Government has:

[ ] (ii) Outlawed IPOB from existing and or operating in Rivers State or any part thereof in line with the proscription order of the Federal High Court and the Federal Government.

(ii) No form of procession and or agitation by IPOB or any of its affiliates is allowed to take place in Rivers State or any part thereof, hence forth.

(iii) Security agencies are hereby directed to stop any form of procession or agitation by IPOB in Rivers State or any part thereof and arrest and prosecute any person or group that identifies with the membership or activities of IPOB in the State;

(iv) Government will issue an executive order to strengthen and ensure the effective enforcement of these measures;

(v) I will be meeting with all leaders of youth groups and community development committees in the State on Monday 26th October 2020 to take wholistic measures to counter and stop all IPOB activities in Rivers State;

(vi) Mr. Stanley Mgbere from Onne is hereby declared wanted for leading members of the banned IPOB to cause the recent violence and destruction of lives and property in Onne in Eleme Local Government Area; and

(vii) A ransom of N50,000,000.00 will be given to any person with useful information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the said Mr. Stanley Mgbere.

25. I wish to appeal to the people of Oyigbo Local Government Area to remain calm and not to take the laws into their hands despite the intense provocation as government has the capacity to deal with the challenge and ensure the safety of lives and property in the Local Government Area.

26. We will soon carry out on the spot inspection and assessment of the destruction they have suffered and take appropriate measures to mitigate the loss and damage caused to lives and property.

27. We hereby express our sympathies to the families of all those that have either lost their loved ones or suffered damages to their properties from the destructive acts of IPOB in our State.

28. Be assured that they have not died in vain and we will do everything within our powers to give all the victims justice.

29. We appeal to leaders of the various ethnic groups residents in the State to ensure that their members respect the sensibilities of our people and refrain from provocations and acts of hooliganism that could breach peace and security in the State.

30. Finally, I wish to assure all Nigerians that Rivers State will continue to be the home for all tribes as we will not shirk in our responsibility to ensure the peace, security and happiness of all residents in Rivers State.

31. We cannot allow IPOB miscreants and other misguided similar groups to threaten our collective peace, security and wellbeing under whatever guise.

32. Thank you and may God continue to bless Rivers State.
