After criticism from various Nigerians home and abroad, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally expressed sadness of the massacre at the Lekki toll gate area of Lagos.

During the speech, President Buhari failed to address the shooting of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers of the Nigerian Army but rather ordered that the protests against police brutality that rocked various cities across the nation before the Lekki massacre on Tuesday.

President Buhari said:

I, therefore, call on our youths to discontinue the street protests and constructively engage government in finding solutions.

Your voice has been heard loud and clear and we are responding.

However, after receiving backlash from Nigerians, President Buhari on Friday afternoon, said he was “deeply pained that innocent lives have been lost” during the attack on peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday.

Conveying the President’s message in a tweet on Friday afternoon, the Presidency quoted President Buhari to have said that “these tragedies are uncalled for and unnecessary.”

Record labels all over the world do have a website which they use to keep fans of their individual artists informed of all the latest news coming from their labels. Roc Nation, Reach Records, and Sony Music are forces to reckon with and these record labels have some of the best acts signed under their label. However, it really blew my mind to realize that some of the biggest record labels in Nigeria do not have a website. I have therefore compiled 15 of the biggest Record labels in Nigeria with no website. The #1 on this list of the Record Labels in Nigeria with no Website is shocking.

#14 – YAGI
YAGI (Young And Getting It) is the record label floated by Li’l Kesh and though it’s less than a year old, the record label has one of the finest hip-hop acts in Nigeria on its management in Li’l Kesh. You will then understand how embarrassing it is when I discovered that the record label has no website.

#13 – BLACK DIAMOND ENTERTAINMENT
Black Diamond Entertainment, a record label that has Wande Coal both in the management and the main act is also without a website. He came out from the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, and since they do have a regularly updated website, one would easily argue that Black Diamond Entertainment has a website. However, a visit to any search engine would correct such erroneous conclusion. I couldn’t even retrieve a logo for the record label.

#12 – ALAPOMEJI ANCESTRAL RECORDS
Mr Alapomeji is an elite when it comes to the entertainment. Given the fact that he has been able to blend with the tides of the Nigerian Music Industry, one would expect him to have a website. Having contested in the primaries of the last election, he is meant to understand the power of Internet media. However, 9ice has no official representation of his record label on the Internet. The only mention that is worth noting at all is that he acclaimed himself as the CEO of Alapomeji records on his official twitter account.

#11 – PENTHAUZE MUSIC
Penthauze Music is the record label that houses one of the finest Igbo rappers of all time “Phyno” and it seriously stuns me that they do not have a website. Igbo people are known to understand all that there is to understand about business, and I am certain you all understand where my concern crawls from.

#10 – MMMG (MADE MEN MUSIC GROUP)
MMMG is the record label that housed Emma Nyra and still has solid acts such as Iyanya, and Selebobo. I am fairly certain that you might even be like “Haba! It’s impossible, MMMG has a website”. Will you just calm down and send me the link to their website?

#9 – CAPITAL HILL MUSIC
The record label owned by Ace video director and the CEO of CAPital Dream Pictures, Clarance Peters, one would expect that a multimedia professional would understand the need for a website much more than any one on this list. However, The label that is home to Tha Suspect and Illbliss, a rapper I have utmost respect for, is without a website.

#8 – NAIJA NINJAS
If there was something I could do to exclude Naija Ninjas on this list, I would probably do it. However, I have to be as fair as possible in this list. Sound Sultan is a force to reckon with in the Music industry and has been standing strong through the years. I will like to believe that for him, not having a website is probably an oversight.

#7 – HYPERTEK DIGITAL
Hypertek is the record label of 2baba after he departed from Kennis Music. 2baba has a song (African Queen) featured in Phat Girlz, a 2006 american movie that raked in over 7 million US dollars. I keep wondering why Hypertek has no website and can’t find the right reasons. He is well exposed and has stood the test of time in the Nigerian music industry.

#6 – TINY ENTERTAINMENT
The record label, Tiny Entertainment houses YCEE and surprisingly, they have no website. There’s almost no usable information about the record label online. If I am willing to book Tiny Entertainment for a global tour, I will probably want to forget it because they are almost non-existent online.

#5 – FIVE STAR MUSIC
Signed on to Five Star Music are Nigerian musical superstars KCEE and HarrySong. However, there is not official representation of the label online. They might as well have to change their name from Five Star to Two star music simply because I am yet to see any Five Star establishment that doesn’t have a fully functional website.

#4 – KENNIS MUSIC
It is pretty much surprising to see a big name like Kennis Music on this list. An empire that brought the likes of Tuface Idibia, now known as 2Baba, OJB Jazreel, Eedris Abdulkareem, as well as Sound Sultan into the lime light. Thie is a record label that was an instant success from the year 1998 when the outfit started. While the record label is not prioritizing adding more artists to their roaster, they have floated a radio platform known as Kennis FM, however, I wasnt able to

#3 – COBHAMS ASUQUO MUSIC PRODUCTION (C.A.M.P.)
While Cobhams Asuquo has one of the best websites as an Artist/Producer, his record label can’t boast of any website. The record label has some astonishing talent in its roaster including Cobhams himself and Bez. With Cobhams’ status as a Midas level producer, from the apparent view that any track he produces naturally becomes a hit, it is so suprising to see that he wouldn’t give a digital face to his music label. #3 – STARBOY WORLDWIDEOf all the labels in this post, I am pretty assured that Whizkid will probably be the only one to rant about making my list. I was shell-shocked when I realized that the Nigerian Entertainer of the moment, owns a record label that has no website.

#2 – DAVIDO MUSIC WORLDWIDE
We know Davido has both a personal website, and another for his sister record label, HKN. This should probably not be on the list but if I’m right that Davido Music Worldwide is a separate entity from HKN, then, DMW shouldn’t have a web page under HKN, rather a separate website or a sub-domain at the least should be more appropriate.

#1 – YBNL NATION (YAHOO BOY NO LAPTOP NATION)
YBNL is a record label that tops this list because they are arguably the biggest record label in the country, and they not having a website even though they have an official DJ and a celebrity graphics artist might be embarrassing to many. However, I feel like forgiving them because not only do they lack a laptop, also, street ti take over (the street has taken over).

Kudos to x3m Music for having the most organized website for a Record Label in Nigeria. Supreme Mavin Dynasty G worldwide, and Chocolate City Music do have very dope sites too. 2Nite Entertainment, previously at Number 10, now has a website and I am inpressed that they have left this list and I hope it is for good.

At least two policemen at the Oyigbo Police Station in Rivers were killed on Wednesday, October 21 – The station was also burnt down by thugs who have now hijacked the EndSARS protest in the state

An eyewitness told journalists that the attack was a revenge move for an EndSARS protester who was allegedly killed in Lagos

The Oyigbo police station in Rivers was on Wednesday, October 21, set ablaze by some unknown arsonists in the state.

Daily Trust reports that not less than two policemen lost their lives in the strike by the thugs who attacked the station along the Port Harcourt/Aba Expressway and set ablaze an armoured vehicle in which was an officer

The attackers also shot dead another policeman while his colleagues took to their heels in the early hours of Wednesday.

The sad incident was confirmed by the police spokesman in the command, Nnamdi Omoni, who told journalists that the commissioner, Joseph Mukan, will be at the scene for preliminary investigation.

“It started in the midnight of Tuesday when we started hearing gunshots. Bullets were flying from all directions and we took cover because my house was very close to the police station. “I overheard them shouting that they were on a revenge mission over the killing of innocent protesters in Lagos. They set the armoured police tank in front of the police station with the driver inside ablaze. “They shut their way into the station before setting the police station ablaze. One other police officer was also shot dead. We did not sleep at night.

Nigerian music star, Ayo Balogun more popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over the #EndSARS rocking Nigeria.

The entertainer said the Nigerian leader has failed the people of the country and called on him, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as well as the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to resign.

He accused them of incapability to handle and respond adequately to the #EndSARS protests which has continued to spread across the country.

Nigerians slammed Davido after the video went viral and Reno Omokri stepped in to defend him saying he was only being diplomatic.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has taken popular singer, Davido’s side after he was caught on camera lying about not being involved with the on-going #EndSARS protest.

Davido met with the Lagos State Police PRO, Frank Mba today. During the closed-door meeting, Davido said he never joined in the protest to end SARS.

How can you come here for closed door meeting when you were protesting…?” Frank Mba asked.

“I didn’t protest,” Davido said, repeating, “I did not protest.”

Frank Mba insisted, telling him that he “identified with the protesters yesterday”.

Davido replied: “I have to because they’re my fans. And I was there actually to calm them down. I was not there to protest.”

Nigerians slammed Davido after the video went viral and Reno Omokri stepped in to defend him.

Reno said Davido was simply being diplomatic.

A day old baby who was abandoned inside a gutter by the mother at Abuja Estates behind NSCDC office in Awka, Anambra state was rescued by the police in the early hours of today, Saturday, October 3.

Spokesperson Of The State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed, Said A Resident Of The Area Alerted Men Of The B Division Police Station Awka When The Baby Was Found. He Said All Efforts Made To Trace The Mother Of The Baby Proved Abortive.

According To Haruna, The Baby Who Is In A Good Health Condition, Was Rescued And Handed Over To “Time To Fort Care Specialist Medical Centre Awka” For Safekeeping.

He Added That Officials Of The Ministry Of Social Welfare Children And Women Affairs Have Been Contacted And The Baby Will Be Handed Over To The Social Welfare Department For Proper Care While Effort Is Ongoing To Trace The Mother In Order To Unravel The Circumstances Surrounding The Incident.

Adeboye disclosed this on Saturday at an event to commemorate the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria co-organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Nehemiah Leadership Institute.

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned of a possible collapse of Nigeria if the Muhammadu Buhari-led government looked on while the country plunged into various insurrections and criminalities.

Adeboye disclosed this on Saturday at an event to commemorate the 60th independence anniversary of Nigeria co-organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Nehemiah Leadership Institute.

He said the restructuring of the country must be done “as soon as possible” to forestall a breakup of the various social-ethnic components that made up Nigeria.

The victims, Baridomale Sunday Tor, Baridon Gbarabera, and Barisiton Nawee, were said to have been buried alive with their mouths and hands tied.

It has been reported that the Rivers state police command has arrested two suspected cultists and oil thieves for allegedly burying three persons alive they accused of feeding the police with information about their illegal bunkering activities in the state.

The kidnap victims, Baridomale Sunday Tor, Baridon Gbarabera, and Barisiton Nawee, were said to have been buried alive with their mouths and hands tied by their abductors on March 14. The men were declared missing after they failed to return home.

Following months of detailed investigation, two suspected cultists, Barididum Danaa, aka ‘kill and bury’ and his accomplice, Prophet Nkpe, both members of the dreaded Degbam Cult group, were arrested and they led men of the Anti-cultism Unit of the Police Command to the area where the three bodies were exhumed.

When interrogated, the suspects admitted they were members of Deygbam Cult group and that they tied the victims’ hands and legs and buried them alive in shallow well. Barididum Daana confessed that the three victims were buried alive because they discovered that they were informants to security agencies about their illegal oil bunkering activities in the area.

It was learnt that Sherifat and her two siblings started living with Moliku after their mother left the family, following their father’s death.
When the next West African Senior School Certificate Examination eventually begins, Sherifat Sulaimon, will be missing in action.

The 21-year-old SS3 pupil reportedly committed suicide last Sunday after she was allegedly beaten by her stepbrother, Moliku Sulaimon, whom she lived with at Olorunshogo Iyewa, in the Isawo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Neighbours, who spoke to Sunday PUNCH, accused Moliku of serially assaulting Sherifat, noting that she became frustrated and took Sniper after he repeated the act last Sunday morning.

It was learnt that Sherifat and her two siblings started living with Moliku after their mother left the family, following their father’s death. Moliku, the eldest child in the family, is in his 40s.

Our correspondent gathered that Sherifat helped Moliku’s wife to get some loaves of bread she would sell at a bakery within the neighbourhood and placed them somewhere in the apartment.

She incurred Moliku’s anger when rodents tampered with one of the loaves, a resident said.

“She had been living with him since their father died. She was a kid then. Her siblings used to live with him too. They left out of frustration because he always beat them,” the neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed.

He stated that there were marks of canes on Sherifat’s body, adding that Moliku hurriedly took her corpse to their hometown in Ijebu, Ogun State, where it was buried the following morning.

He said, “After she returned from the bakery on Sunday morning, he beat her again because rats ate part of a loaf. It was out of frustration that the lady took a poison. She died on arrival at the hospital and he quickly too her corpse to their hometown in Ijebu for burial. He knew he would have been queried if the police inspected the body and saw the marks. Neighbours were bitter that Sherifat died that way without any action taken against the man.”

The chairman of the community development association, Mr. Adekunle Adeigba, said he was not aware of the assault until the incident happened.

“Someone called me on Sunday and narrated what happened to me. They said the man beat his stepsister and she went ahead to commit suicide. It was after the incident that I heard people say he had been beating her. I have not heard it before until the incident happened,” Adeigba stated.

The acting traditional ruler in the community, Pastor Moses Bakare, told our correspondent that he received several calls from locals, lamenting how Moliku used to maltreat the lady.

He said an official of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps and a policeman from Owutu Police Station, visited the scene of the incident but did not inspect the victim’s body to verify if it bore marks of violence.

Bakare explained, “A resident informed me of the incident on Monday morning. I asked if any security agency is aware and he said one Mr Rasaq from LNSC was at the scene of the incident. I called the official and asked him about investigation carried out so far on the matter.

“I asked him if he checked her body but he said he didn’t. I told him he should have checked to verify what people were saying. Everybody was lamenting that she committed suicide out of frustration. Many residents called me on the phone to make the same complaint and they sought justice on behalf of the lady.

“I learnt that a policeman from Owutu Police Station also came to check her body. I called him and he said the lady took Sniper. He told me he didn’t check her body. Some youths wanted to burn the man’s (Moliku’s) house but I calmed them.

“I asked his wife what happened and she said the lady erred and her husband beat her small. I had a meeting with the CDA members on Tuesday. We were concerned about the circumstances leading to the lady’s death, but there is nothing we can do if the police cannot take the necessary action.”

In an interview with our correspondent, Moliku admitted beating his stepsister that day but said it was not responsible for the suicide.

He said he suspected she was pregnant and was afraid to disclose it as he had warned her against unwanted pregnancy.

Moliku stated, “I had been taking care of her since she was small. Would I pray that she die now? I didn’t beat her over bread. I sent her on an errand and called her on the phone but she didn’t pick up the calls. That was why I beat her. I gave her three strokes of the cane on the palm. It happened in the morning and we took breakfast and lunch together. I then went to have a haircut.

“I suffered a lot on Sherifat and her siblings. She was in SS3 and was preparing to sit WASSCE. Their mother left them at tender ages. I was the one taking care of them. My children have been in sadness since she died. Even when the school was on holiday and I told her to visit her mum, she would not go. If I had been maltreating her, wouldn’t she go? There was no mark of canes on her body.

“I don’t know what could have made her to commit suicide but I thought she was probably pregnant. I always begged her not to get pregnant untimely.”

Moliku denied any cover-up, noting that he was too devastated to report the incident to the police.

He added, “Officials of LNSC saw her body and they checked it. I was confused. I didn’t report to the police but the LNSC officials said they reported the case at the Owutu Police Station. I collected a doctor’s report and some residents wanted to join me to bury her at a cemetery.

“I called her mother and some other family members and they told me to bring her corpse home. I searched for an ambulance that Sunday night that took her to Ijebu. She was buried on Monday morning. I never nursed any evil against her. It was only God who could console me.”

The spokesperson for LNSC, Mr Sikiru Olusesi, said according to information he got from the corps officer in charge of Ikorodu West, some officials visited the scene of the incident and took photographs, adding that the Divisional Police Officer, Owutu Police Station, was informed.

Olusesi said, “The Chairman CDA Olorunshogo at Yewa Isawo, called the CO (corps officer) Ikorodu West of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Mr Oseni Rasaki, that there was a suicide case in their area. The CO called the Owutu DPO to alert him of the incident being within his jurisdiction and having authority of prosecution on such case. While the CO was on his usual patrol having been alerted of the case met a mammoth crowd at Bethel Hospital where the corpse of the lady was lying.

“He further told the CDA Chairman and some residents to make sure the case was formally reported and documented at the Owutu Police Station. He also advised them to take the corpse along with the community representatives to the station which they refused for reasons unknown to him.

“But as of Thursday, we learnt the police had begun investigations into the suicide case having heard the rumour of frequent faceoff that led to beating by her supposed (step) brother.

“We learnt the brother’s two wives were with the police for questioning and that the brother has also been formally invited for questioning.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bala Elkana, confirmed that investigation had commenced on the case.

Nigerians have expressed shock and disbelief following the first arrest made in connection to the gruesome murder of Gokada founder and Chief Executive Officer, Fahim Saleh.

Saleh was gruesomely murdered on Tuesday by a faceless assassin who left his decapitated and dismembered body inside his Lower East Side apartment, in New York City.

Haspil, who was arrested on Friday, has been charged with the murder of Saleh, according to The New York Times.

“Mr Haspil was Mr Saleh’s executive assistant and handled his finances and personal matters. It is also believed that he owed the victim a significant amount of money,” the Chief of Detectives, Rodney Harrison, said at a brief news conference on Friday afternoon.

Police gathered that Haspil allegedly stole about $100,000 from the late tech entrepreneur but rather than handing him over to law enforcement agents, the late Gokada CEO brokered a repayment plan with him.

Haspil was arrested at 8:45 a.m. on Friday in the lobby of a building at 172 Crosby Street in SoHo.

“He tried to run,” said the building’s superintendent, who declined to give his name, explaining that he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the owner. The superintendent added that Haspil had arrived at the Crosby Street apartment at some point on Wednesday and that he was planning to leave on Monday.

Though investigation is still ongoing, Nigerians have since taken to social media to express utter disappointment and anger at the turn of events.

The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested one Shuaibu Aliyu, for allegedly impregnating a 14-year-old girl and dumping the baby in a bush.

The suspect was arrested after one Alhaji Abubakar reported the case at Wamakko police station in the state.

It was learned that the teenage girl got pregnant sometime in 2019 after Shuaibu lured her into his room and forcefully had sex with her.

She then took the child to the suspect and he connived with his friend still at large and threw the baby into a bush at Gidan Abuja village.

Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Kaoje disclosed this while briefing journalists on Thursday, adding that the suspect was arrested for rape and an attempt to commit a culpable homicide.

Kaoje said “One Alhaji Hamisu Abubakar of Kalambaina area, Wamakko LGA, Sokoto State, reported at Wamakko Police Station, that sometime in November 2019, Shuaibu Aliyu lured a 14-year-old into his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

“As a result she became pregnant. She then took the child to the suspect who went together with his friend, one Nasiru Attahiru now at large, and threw the baby in the bush at Gidan Boka village, Wamakko LGA of Sokoto State.”

The CP added that the baby was found by a good samaritan who nurtured her through the Director of Social Welfare, Wamakko LGA, and alerted the police.

He added that efforts are still ongoing to arrest the other fleeing suspect as the case is still under investigation and would be lodged in the court soon.

Rumors of Singer August Alsina being in a May-December relationship with Will Smith’s Wife, Jada Pinkett Smith have been on for a while. Alsina claimed he had a love affair with Jada Pinkett Smith, after her husband, allegedly gave the relationship his blessing.

He opened up on the alleged affair in an interview with “The Breakfast Club’s” Angela Yee.

According to him, “I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing.”

Alsina, 27, was introduced to Pinkett, 48, in 2015 by her son Jaden.

He said the two became very close, even vacationing with the family in Hawaii in 2016 and attending the 2017 BET Awards together.

While explaining how he fell in love with Pinkett, he said: “I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody.”

“And I really loved a person, I experienced that and I know what that feels like — and some people never get that in this lifetime.”

Alsina continued: ” I know that I am completely blessed and this conversation is difficult because it is so much, that it would be hard for people to understand but once it starts to affect me and my livelihood, I have to speak up about my truth.”

Alsina even went on to describe Pinkett as “God’s divinity” on her 47th birthday. It is not clear when their alleged affair ended.

During the interview, he was asked, “Is it disappointing that Pinkett never addressed it to you, because like you said, you lost out on opportunities?”

“I really can’t even get into the thought of that because I am only responsible for myself, right,” Alsina responded.

He added: “And I am only responsible for, you know. what I do. When I am repressing and suppressing things and it starts to affect me. I have to address it. I just always stay solid because I never want to be the person to start confusion.”
